06/08/2023 - My experience with Texas Sprinkler Pro's. I feel that potential customers should be aware of my experience. If you decide to use this company then note my experience so you can be aware of the issues I had and you can protect yourself. I hired them to do what I would consider minor sprinkler repairs. I have and am fully capable of doing all this work myself which is what I have done for the past 25 years. I have been busy at work and decided to hire a company to do some maintenance. Upon meeting the business owner Danny he told me after they are finished my system would come on automatically and work perfectly without any issues so there would be nothing for me to do going forward. I was quoted what they call an "Assessment" of $224. This assessment took about 20 minutes and all it consisted of was turning on each of my sprinkler zones so they can find the issues they were going to repair and charge me for. After the assessment they went over the items that needed to be fixed including the big ticket installation of a new valve at a ridiculous price of $250. After we went through the issues they gave me a total quote of $696 to complete this job. I thought this was excessive and I almost told them forget it but they were already there so I agreed. I left to return to work and later that afternoon I received a call from Danny after they had finished the job. Danny then told me he forgot the $224 Assessment charge so now my invoice was $920. There is no way I would have agreed to pay them $920 if whey would have quoted me that at the assessment prior to starting the job. I was livid but you know I took the hit without arguing and immediately paid the bill through their online billing link they sent by Email. When I completed paying the bill it magically went from the final invoice price of $920 to $947 without any explanation. Could be a credit card charge but no where did they state you will be charged a fee for using a credit card which was their preferred method. Too late they already had my money because the transaction was processed. I return home and looked at the job. I had already dug up all the areas that needed repair so I did the heavy lifting labor. The technician said he would fill back in the areas I dug up. He did not. Then I looked at the $250 brand new valve replacement and a new valve was not installed! I called Danny immediately and asked him why is he charging me for a brand new valve and not installing one? The only work they did on the valve was to replace about $15 in parts which I have done many times and takes around 10 minutes. Danny said he purchased the new valve for the Tech and he would call him and ask why it was not replaced? He calls me back and said the valve was replaced. I told him no it had not. I told him I see the $15 in parts that were installed into my old existing valve. He then proceeds to tell me that all they did was replace the parts and not the valve but they consider that a valve replacement. I told him $15 in parts and 10 minutes of labor is not a brand new valve nor is it a valve "replacement" its a valve "repair". He then tells me that "I don't know where you buy your parts but we only use commercial grade parts". I said "I purchase from Home Depot so you are telling me my $15 parts from Home Depot cost me $250 from you guys because you use commercial grade". I can't express enough how ridiculous his commercial parts argument is. He bragged about it being a 1 year warranty on repair. One must understand my valve has been in the ground for over 20 years. It is plastic and plastic is brittle especially after spending 20 years buried in the ground. You charge me for a valve replacement a new valve should have been installed. A 1 year warranty means nothing when I paid for a complete replacement. I did a further review of their job and included pictures showing the results of my $947 dollar job that I was told would be perfect when they were complete. First the $250 valve repair is leaking - see pic included. So I am going to replace the valve myself. It will not be a repair like they did but I will do the full valve replacement like I was charged for. Pop up valves stuck in the up position. I stopped counting at 7. I did not see one and ran over it with my mower so I was back to repairing my own sprinkler because they did not give me a system that was perfect. See pics of a few of the heads stuck in the up position. I also included a pic of one of the rotators in the zone that was fixed by the repair (not replacement) of the valve. This rotator was not adjusted and starts by spraying my fence then rotates to spraying my pool then patio furniture then the back of my house and kitchen window and of course continues to make this pass several times during its cycle soaking my fence, patio furniture and house. This is a perfect example of their craftsmanship and attention to detail. A final example was they forgot to turn-on my system upon leaving so my sprinklers never came on. Here is the bottom line. Most companies will waive the Assessment charge if you hire them to do the job. These guys do not so you are out the $224 whether you agree to let them do the work or not. This is an absurd charge for just turning on your sprinkler zones so they can find things to charge you for. If you are not experienced they can tell you they are installing new valves and charging you $250 when all they are doing is installing a few dollars in parts to repair not replace a valve. I understand I am to blame for agreeing to let these guys do the work. I am not to blame for them telling me a final price after their Assessment of $696, them doing work and then after all is said and done calling me to let me know that the final price we agreed on did not include an additional $224 so now its $920. And they had no explanation for the additional $27 that got magically charged to my credit card on top of their outrageous invoice of $920. I have their billing Email and Invoice and zero mention of additional charges like for using a credit card which is the method of payment they prefer and send you. If I would have done as I always have for the past 25 years this job would have cost me $30 in parts and zero in labor. I could have saved $917. I would never have agreed to $947 if that would have been quoted to me prior to starting the job. If you decide to use this business then note these issues. I completely wasted $947 because I am back to replacing the valve and repairing issues I had prior to hiring this company. Complete waste of good money and my time dealing with this business.

Jacob arrived was professional and prompt. We researched the issues with 3 zones, attempted multiple different fixes and after 3 hours ran out of time. We reset for following week, did some research about the issues and together narrowed them to two likely issues. Jacob arrived we tried our first option and weee successful, Jacob sourced parts then returned to correct the issue and make sure the system was running perfect! Awesome job Jacob

Texas Pros (Jacob) came out and spent a good amount of time inspecting what the other guys did. Found one leaking valve, but were not sure about why the system was so messed up. Didn't charge me for more than the service call and replacement valve despite spending a good amount of time...Jacob said, we didn't get it up and running so I am not going to charge you today. Let me think about this and we will come back. He came back, said he had a pretty good idea of what was going on. He dug up the previous "repair" and discovered that the first guys plumbed the system wrong and completely cut off my front yard zone. He redid the lines the right way and in just a little over an hour my system was back. On time. Professional. Knows what he is doing. I can't say enough good things about Jacob and Texas Sprinkler Pros.

Jacob was on time, called to let me know how long before his arrival and definitely knew his profession. He had to troubleshoot a problem with the communication of the 3 sprinkler stations. He checked to be sure the rain gauge was properly working with main box. He was professional and very thorough. I will definitely recommend this company to my neighbors. It’s hard, in my opinion, to find reliable service companies for our homes in recent years. I was very pleased with the service and didn’t have anything recommended that was not necessary. The fee was reasonable also!
