Clay and Jim Critz came out to our property to give us design ideas to meet our budget. They actually listened to our needs and didn't exceed what we wanted to spend. The pool and patio turned out gorgeous, just the space we were looking for. Both men returned when we needed help and went above and beyond to help us out. We have built a pool before and used other companies for service and none come close to the quality pool we have now.

The pool came out beautiful, I'm very pleased with the way it looks, which should be expected given the price tag of this project. Where this company fails, however, is in their communication and coordination. We waited an entire month for 5 days of work towards the end of our project. After the pool was supposed to be completed, we were told we needed a gas line run for part of it to be functional (why this was never brought up during the entire time of construction is beyond me). To get any kind of communication with them, I would have to pester them. They were always unapologetic about their failings and never seemed to care that the customer was aggravated. At the end of the day, they aren't much cheaper than any of the big name builders (Zars, Cody) so in hindsight I wish I would have paid a little extra and gone with them for a less stressful project.

Pool and deck were completed in
November 2013 with some items needing corrections afterwards.
Texas Pool and Patio – TPP did correct
several items such as the garage door replacement (one of their contractors ran
into it) and the deck re-sprayed (due to discoloring).
However they told us the white spots in
the bottom of the pool needed to be addressed when the weather warmed up. When it started to reach 90+ degrees I’ve
called, emailed and texted several times with no resolution.
In the beginning we choose TPP because
they had the best vision for our backyard, but after getting us to sign the
contract, we didn’t hear from them until I became concerned enough to contact
the owner.
Our foreman did a very good job of
communicating with us once he was assigned to our project and we feel he did a
really good job on our project but once our job was over we were supposed to
contact the office. Now we are back to
lack of communication and lack of customer service and resolutions.

Some history; I had my entire pool and hot tub renovated over a year ago. The new $$$ heater never worked after it was installed. After countless calls to the pool company and ongoing frustration - I finally decided to call another pool company to see if they could help me get my brand new pool heater working (the one we had replaced worked!).
The receptionist at Texas Pools and Patios was pleasant and put me in touch with Kevin. I briefly told him of my problem and he was able to come out the same day. He tirelessly investigated my system and within an hour had it completely WORKING! WOW!! After a year of pleading with our old company, it only took Kevin an hour to diagnose and fix the problem. I am SO grateful for Kevin's visit.
The most impressive part of his visit was that when we asked him how much his charge would be upon completion - he said "no charge, this is part of our customer service" - I was so impressed with Kevin's professionalism and expertise.

No shows most of the time. They would do some, then not show up for a week. Had to keep on top of them. The work was not pristine by any means. Sloppy cement work and they just don't care...well whomever was in charge of our pool didn't. Very Texan and laid back company...no fire under them that is for sure. Needed them to come back and fix cement work.

Our designer Jason was wonderful - he designed a beautiful pool, stayed in contact with us, kept us informed on what to expect and never lost patience when we would call him with questions. The pool was completed in about 2 months and towards the end, the company made every effort to make sure it was completed in time for our out-of-town guests to enjoy while they were here on vacation. We have only had our pool for a little over a week now - but we are absolutely thrilled with the outcome and it is more beautiful than we imagined it would be. I would recommend this company and especially their pool designer Jason.

We have now enjoyed our pool for about two months - and we could not be happier with the end product. Pool school was very informative and we have been able to easily maintain our pool with the info we received. We almost got a fiberglass pool and we are so happy that did not work out for us - this pool looks like it was custom designed just for us and we could not be happier.
