Outstanding company!! I placed a call with Starr Roofing in the morning and later that same day Lyle was at my home...incredible responsiveness. I had found pieces of shingles in our yard after the last couple of storms and was concerned it might be symptomatic of larger issues. Lyle quickly put my mind at ease, saying the roof was in good shape and should last another 10 years before requiring replacement. He took pictures of everything he found that was the slightest bit amiss, and also took the time to explain how the roof was engineered/constructed, the protections offered by the particular type of shingle we have, and even said the gutter system was fine (which was also causing me concern). I cannot adequately express how impressed I was with Lyle's professionalism, expertise and honesty. Physical disabilities prevent me from being able to access my roof, so should an unethical inspector have gone up there and told me I needed a new roof I would have been inclined to believe it. There was no risk of such dishonesty with Lyle. He will be back in a couple of weeks to repair the minor issues he found. I will close this review with this: when the time comes for our roof to be replaced, Starr Roofing is getting the job!

Completed in workmanlike fashion.

TOTAL DISASTER! Scheduled far, far after I paid in advance for an inspection & estimate, which I had to remind them to perform. Instead, all I got was some jovial joking around, a half-dozen dribbles of caulk (4oz total deposit at most), and a belated e-estimate, which I again had to remind them to perform/deliver. I was HAD!! Paid $99 for an incomplete total-re-roof estimate (I could never afford this year)... est'd at $9300-ish... with NO split-out for subordinate leak-relief work!! In short, what was eventually delivered is not worth $99!!!

Went Great. Joby showed up right on time, did full inspection of our roof, performed some minor repairs that were needed. Very professional and trustworthy. Did not try to up-sale services we did not need. I was very satisfied with all aspects our is visit. I would certainly use again and recommend to friends.

No work was done to my roof. The owner was outright rude and unprofessional when I was asking him a lot of questions about the job. He had to create an alibi so he could get off the phone. I already told my co-workers, colleagues not to hire this roofing company.

I processed my request through the Angie's list website. About a week went by (from Aug 7) and I still had not heard from the company. Taking into consideration that many of the roofing companies are booked , I gave them another few days and finally called Starr Roofing. I explained I had purchased this package through Angie's list and the the woman that answered told me she would relay my message to her boss and that apparently several customers had called to complain that they had purchased the same packager but had not heard back. About 2 days later I heard back from a contact (their boss) from Starr Roofing who left me a message. I called them back as soon I got out of work and I have yet to hear back from anyone at Starr Roofing and it has now been a month tomorrow that I purchased this package.This company did not bother to call me back yet they took my money and I got no service from them. I would NOT recommend them to anyone. Do not waste your time or your money on this unprofessional business who cannot even take the time to call customers back in a timely manner or cared to follow up. It was a terrible experience and I will not purchase anything from Angie's List again fearing I will go through the same experience. I did not receive any service from this company and did not get a refund.

awesome. all done in 2 days

I was not happy with the scheduling. I was told it would take three days. It was done in one day. Material was delivered as scheduled - a waiver was shoved at me for signature releasing supply company from liability for damage - not cool. Supply company had to return to complete delivery. I was not home, Woke up my wife. Not cool. Damage to interior of my home. I had photos taken and owner Pete Reed said he would stop by to look at the damage that week. He did not appear. When I reminded him, he said he looked at the photos and there was nothing he could do. I asked for a buckling shingle to be addressed - not done. Flue in attic is supposed to be checked for alignment. Not checked. Turbine fans installed at angel - when I question installation I was told that was the correct installation. Called owner and finally got turbine fans installed correctly. Owner "forgot" $600 reduction on estimated price. Needs to update and review estimate/contract prior to work.

Starr roofing did an AMAZING job!!! 5 stars!!! After the hail storm hit our neck of the woods we saw many many roof companies show up, some of which I never heard of. We watched roofs get slapped on even during the rain and the construction crews quickly left. I researched roof companies and drove around nearby neighborhoods and talked to neighbors. I found Starr Roofing. I called and spoke with Pete. Pete was very prompt and courteous. He was thorough with my options for quality and durability. He was also upfront in stating that his bid might be a tad bit higher than the other roof companies that were advertising in my neighborhood. But after doing my research on his work I knew he was the roofer to use. Pete told me my roof would take 1- 1 1/2 days to complete. I was skeptical because I watched other roof companies taking 4- 5 on a dry sunny day. The quality of product and workmanship Pete and his crew offered surpassed all other new roofs in the area. 5 stars!!! Pete recommended a HD shingle and radiant barrier underlay which did not cost much more than the competitors bids for a regular shingle and I couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out. My roof is absolutely beautiful and the house is cooler and it was completed in one day!!! Petes crew was professional and very responsible. They cleaned up all debris and trash (along with those pesky nails that I was finding in my front yard from the other roofers work on the neighbors roof). Pete came back the next day to see if we had any concerns or issues which we did not and to pick up payment. As he told me at the beginning of this process he gets paid at the end of the job unlike other companies requesting 1/2 upfront. If you are thinking of getting a new roof I would highly recommend Pete Reed with Starr Roofing!!!

We got to know Starr Companies very well over the course of our job which lasted seven months. We would not hire them again and urge anyone looking for a remodel to look elsewhere. Response to Pete Reed's Comments: My husband is a contractor, and we very well understood the construction process. The job did not go well due to poor quality workmanship. Period. As we neared completion on the job, Starr provided invoices for non-billable items, material that never was used on our job, many duplicate invoices, etc. and expected us to pay these false charges, which we refused; this is the "discount" Mr. Reed refers to. It is further work noting that though we payed the entire project contract amount to Starr, their contractor was unable to finish the job, and we were forced to hire a second contractor at additional expense to finalize the project.
