I had a very disappointing experience with Stain Tech. The owner, Dereck, was unprofessional and did not provide a warranty for his work. He stamped and stained our patio on an unusually hot day (103 degrees), which led to bubbling and discoloration—something any industry professional would avoid. Despite multiple attempts to fix the damage, the repairs were never completed properly. To make matters worse, Dereck transferred us to another contractor, charging an excessive amount, yet the patio is still blistering and looks awful. Dereck was cocky and unpleasant throughout the process, and the quality of workmanship was severely lacking. We highly recommend Not using this company.

Stain Tech did a great job! Derrick was polite and informative on different options. He listened to what we wanted and the job was done to our liking. He was always in touch with us about what step they were doing and answered every call or text. The guys who did the demo and install were awesome. They respected our home and did the work quickly. We love our new floor. We are going to have them do our back patio to match in a couple of weeks.

Derek and his associates are professionals and know their business.  I'm very happy to report that my leaky sundeck was properly repaired and looks great.
Derek is diligent about his work and did everything in his power to keep me updated in terms of what was being done going so far as to make an additional trip to my home to apply extra sealer at my request.  I am very happy with the experience and with the results; most importantly, I would recommend StainTech to my friends and family.

Derek knows what he's doing and the quality of the floor turned out fantastic. Love my garage floor!! Would hire again in a second, referred to my neighbor! Epoxy floors are worth the cost, you cannot achieve this level of quality trying to do it yourself.

I wasn't really all that terribly satisfied with the job they did. The work they did was okay. There was a misunderstanding about what exactly they were going to do and I don't know if it was just my lack of experience on dealing with people like that but they didn't really do as complete a job as I thought we had made an agreement for. I would not use them again. The work that they did was okay. We had a misunderstanding on how far they were going to go with preparation of the surface and things like that. They were very responsive. The guy offered to come and put another coat on after we discussed it for a while but I couldn't work it out. I kind of blew it as over and done.

I initially contacted Stain Tech about staining my art studio floor. The price was more than I anticipated for staining. I agreed instead to a metallic epoxy coating, a fairly new technique which is actually more expensive, but unique and more complex.
First round - not good. The color was supposed to be antique silver, but came out a purplish bronze. Additionally, chunks of debris came out from under my baseboards, leaving sharp blobs in the coating. I told Derek I was not happy with it, and he agreed it did not turn out well due to no fault of his own. He contacted the product manufacturer, who agreed the product seemed defective and agreed to comp product for a do-over.
For a minimal labor charge, Derek returned and re-sanded the floor and applied the new coating, with spectacular results! This time I was not only pleased, but the beauty and quality of this floor exceeded my expectations. Congratulations and thanks to Derek for being proactive and professional to ensure his customer was happy!

The owner, Derek,  offered semi-transparent stain with pigment for $2,300 for the deck measuring 12 X 22 stating the bottom of the deck needed to also be stained.   My deck is an above ground deck extending from the second story. I was taken aback by the price, and would have sought another estimate, however my preference was to keep the natural look of the cedar. Which he quickly stated could be done for $1,300.  He did not measure but the width of the deck so, I assumed I was getting a "deal" not the regular  price of $2.50 a sq ft he had quoted.   I agreed on a clear semi-transparent stain which he then stated the price was $1,000 less but still a semi-transparent.   It was made known to me that choosing clear would result in a redo in 18 to 24 months instead of the 3 to 5 years that the stain with pigment would require.  He also requested payment in CASH to be left outside and paid before the job was begun.   I contacted him and declined the job as I would not be leaving money outside nor paying before the job.  He then agreed to accept payment after the job stating he had already purchased the stain. He did also state during this call that he had confirmed with the owner of Paradise Decks  that the bottom must be stained to honor my warranty.   I later verified with the owner of Paradise Decks who stated he never spoke to Derek nor stated this was necessary as it is not.  I did pay for the service in cash.  I stipulated that the work was not to begin until the weather cleared and the french doors that were laying on the deck were installed.     There had been several days of rain before the Monday the job was completed.   The door had not been installed  and the  night before it had rained so I was surprised to hear from the owner who contacted me at work and stated he had a crew at my residence to begin the job.  I questioned the weather and the effect it would have on the job and concern for the door that had not yet been installed due to the weather.   He became irritated and stated the deck was dry and the job would dry before nightfall as the sun was out.  He stated that the door would be taken care of and would not be in the way and that he needed to keep his crew working.    Against my better judgment I allowed him to proceed  since he should know his business and the risks involved in staining in the conditions that day's weather presented.   Later that evening, the deck was still wet but looked very attractive, viewing it through the window.  The person who applied the stain was present and stated that the stain was a good quality - not a water blocker and that his parent's deck had the clear stain.  He also reiterated that the only difference was that I would have to restain quicker possibly in 18 to 24 months.  I asked to be placed on a call back so that I could establish a schedule for on-going maintenance. He also told me what to look for as a sign of when to contact them.   By May 8th I texted the owner sharing pictures of the deck already mildewing and graying.  I asked for him to come assess the results.  He responded that he would come look when there was better weather.  I again texted him on June 26th and called him on the 27th after not getting a response.  He stated he was out of town and would contact me to schedule an appointment upon his return.  On July 2nd I again followed up with the owner. An appointment was made for the 7th - he texted me shortly before our appointment time and stated he was out of town and that he hadn't forgotten about our appointment.  So by this time, he knows my concern and has not once come to see the deck. When I pushed for a resolution, his response to my concern which I believe boils down to the poor business decision to complete the work during the weather we were experiencing,   was that I had chosen an inferior stain that was just a water proffer and  " we can't play God and predict the weather.....We will not, however, be completing any work for free."  I am dumbfounded that with today's technology this professional could not access information about the weather to make decisions as to whether to complete a job or not AND he had stated that it would dry the day the job was completed.  I am disappointed that he would not take responsibility and do the right thing and  make good on the job without additional cost to this consumer.    I have since called a reputable staining company who states the bottom of the deck is not to be stained, there are meters to check the moisture content in the wood - the  cost would have been less than $780 for stain with pigment and that the clear stain would have to be maintained every 3 months and is not recommended for this area or the location of my deck.   Needless to say, I am not doing going to pay additional funds to Stain Tech to correct the issue as he states he will redo if I pay for materials, supplies and a "nominal" fee.   I have already paid once for this job and I should not have to pay for the poor business decision he made to proceed to stain under the weather conditions present at the time of the job.

They were very responsive and meticulous.  When painting the fences and staining the deck they made sure all other areas were covered and we received no overspray at all.  Someone was at my house for two days straight over 8 hours a day and one day there were two gentleman there.  I believe the gentleman's name who did the pressure washing and staining of the deck was named Ivan and he was especially careful.  He took the time to hand stain any parts that were close to the house or suspended up high in the roof supports. He taped off a lot of areas like fan controls and a weather station I had to insure they would not get stain on them.   He also did an excellent job cleaning my driveway.  Finally Ivan hand painted the fence that came up close to the house to insure no paint was put on the house itself.
I know lots of people will think 3500 is a lot of money for this kind of job, but the amount of labor involved is pretty incredible.  They were on a very high extension ladder and even on my roof a few times to stain the upper parts of my deck cover.  I have done this kind of work myself and have received quotes from other companies.  For the time and effort and the amount of detail they put into the job, I feel my money was well spent.
They even pulled all of the heavy objects off the deck and made the effort to come back a couple of days later after the stain was dry to put them back.

It went okay. I was happy with the garage, but I wasn’t all that happy with the walkway. The walkway I thought they should have prepared the surface better before they cleaned it, it was spray painted prior that was wiped on prior to treating it. It is hard to get people to respond.
