The drought here has ravaged my lawn.  I have a fairly large corner lot in my neighborhood.  After replacing the sprinkler system that came with the house but hasn't worked well for the past six years (my house is 13 years old), I needed grass to go in the bare spots in the yard and along the sidewalks both to the front and side of my yard.  Although another well-known nursery was out of Zoysia Zeon and did not offer to locate any for us (we'll not be going back to that nursery again), my wife found Specialty Turf online.  They did have the type of grass we wanted, and they were willing to deliver it.  AND they were $50.00/pallet cheaper than the well-known nursery!  We ordered two pallets and laid sod Friday evening and Saturday (it was 105 Saturday).  Out of two pallets of sod, only three strips had any undesirable grass in them (an these were easily removed. 

Since the zoysia already in our yard was in such bad shape, my wife and I thought we might just go ahead and re-sod the entire yard.  We asked for someone from Specialty Turf Service to come out and look over our yard, and give us his opinion on the amount of sod needed as well as a price.  Clay came out and walked us through the yard, explaining that, for the most part, we did not need to replace the grass because it would come back in time with watering and care.  Instead of selling us approximately $1800.00 worth of sod, he said we really only needed one more pallet to fill in a few areas.  He also recommended a soil supply company and a lawn expert (retired golf greens designer) who would help us in re-establishing and maintaining our lawn. 

Later in the afternoon, an employee of Specialty Turf called my wife and set up delivery for both the pallet of grass and the topsoil we needed (even though the topsoil company is not a part of Specialty Turf).  The delivery was set for Tuesday, July 7, and they delivered the soil and the sod right on time!

The truth is, Specialty Turf Service could have made a lot of money by just selling me the grass I thought I needed and having their workmen install it.  Instead, they were honest and treated me in a way that I think few businesses treat their customers these days.  I am VERY favorably impressed with this company, and I recommend them to all members in this area.  Service and integrity are rare.  These people have both!

Specialty Turf was very nice to deal with. They were able to get everything done quickly and did a great job. We have called them and asked them questions and they were very helpful. My grass looks great and it is really healthy.
