The whole process could not have been better! We called and made an appointment for estimate in July. Danny Boes came ( at appointed time) and explained the system and choices we had. We accepted the offer. We were told up front the start date would not be right away, but we also needed to have trees trimmed that were hanging over the roof, so we had plenty of time to prepare. Prior to start date John(?) came out to take measurements. The work started at the end of August and took about 2 weeks - rain delays! The workers were out here every day getting done what they could between rain storms! The workers were friendly and took time to answer my questions when I would go out to look at the work. They asked where they could place items they left here so they would not be in our way. The site clean-up after the roof removal was better than I expected and overall the clean-up was excellent. In some ways, the rain storms actually helped us. We had an area that was leaking and asked them to see if they could find the problem and fix - they found the problem and worked to fix (it had to do with our siding) - rains came...no leak!! The roof looks beautiful! Thank you Southwest Metal Roofing Systems.

The work was great. They worked with me to pick the best color to fit my brick, they were punctual, clean, finished the work when they said they would and kept me in the loop every step of the way. I love my new roof. I highly recommend them.

SMR provided a competitive bid and an extensive list of references. They were priced slightly under another roofing company and their prior customers that we talked to were all very pleased with their work. They accurately predicted the time it would take to do the job (3 weeks). Their work crews were highly skilled and easy to communicate with. They installed a beautiful roof and did an excellent job of cleaning around the house.

The roof is a good quality roof. Job was completed in four working days. Crew did a good job and cleaned and hauled off all scrap materials. Project manager did a good job of keeping me informed of the process.

They do a great job and are very responsible. I think the price was the most reasonable after calling around.

There was a lot of roofs damaged and we elected to wait for a quality roofer we had heard of to do the work. It took two month for them to come out and do an estimate (July) and almost 4 months for them to come out and do the work. We were willing to "get in line" to have a great roof installed by someone who has been in business for 20 years as opposed to the "fly by night" ones going through the area. We paid ⅓ down in July to guarantee our place in line. On Friday October 28, a crew came out and in a little more than 4 hours completely removed our old asphalt shingles and felt overlay AND cleaned up. They were super-efficient, clean, and fast. The roof had the synthetic polypropylene underlayment that provided a water-proof cover until the installers could come later. The synthetic blue material is much lighter, can't crack, and is safer for the installers. The installers came on Tuesday, Nov. 1 and brought their Zimmerman panel forming machine. The metal comes in rolls and the Zimmerman forms the panels to the sizes needed. After a couple of hours, the yard had piles of metal panels of the different sizes need. Then the crew of 4 started installing them, which involves edging and screwing in each panel, covering it up with one edge and then crimping the standing seam - no way the water can get in. It took several days as the weather was damp and a lot of dew on the roof, so they came around 10am and stayed till around 5-6pm to get the benefit of good light and safe conditions. The work was slow, from our point of view, but wanted them to take their time and do a great job, which is what happened. They were pretty good at cleaning up each night. I have had a TV antenna on the roof and before it, a satellite dish. I was told it is not a good idea to perforate the metal, as that voids the warranty (25 years for rest penetration). I did put up a shaped piece of cedar, weather-proofed and painted, at the apex of the roof at one end. I show some photos. It is high enough and the reception is great (no ghosting or double-images). The roof looks great and we look forward to a trouble free roof. They skylights are perfect replacement and made to fit just right. We had a rare 1.50 inch rain not long after and no problems.

Absolute nightmare! Everyone that has come by our home asks "what's wrong with your roof?" Well, whats wrong is that we hired Southwest Metal Roofing Systems to install a standing seam metal roof onto our home in Castle Hills. We started this adventure by receiving bids from several other companies, and decided to go with Southwest Metal Roofing because they had a professional reputation and excellent reviews ( after using them, I cannot for the life of me see how they do). They were definitely not the cheapest bid we received, but again their reputation was excellent. First sign of issues was when they were trying start the job despite the fact that it was raining every single day. I explained that I didn't want my roof removed while it was raining (duh). But, they kept assuring us that "it would be ok". When I asked them to put it in writing to back this up, they didnt press further and said "well, we'll just wait then". Once they started the job, the panels were coming off the forming machine warped. I called to speak with my sales rep but never received a call back. Once the panels were up on the home, they were still warped, but I was assured that they would "straighten up" once they were crimped tight. Well, they didnt change a bit. On the final inspection, the inspector actually said "well if you would've called us, maybe we could have replaced them or adjusted the machine, but now you're stuck with it". We did call! The overall look and build quality of our metal roof is horrible. It looks severely warped (google: oil canning), panels are crooked, crimps were done poorly or not at all in certain sections, and some of the messiest roof jack installations I've ever seen, the list goes on and on. I welcome anyone to come walk my roof and see the build quality first-hand. Southwest Metal Roofing Systems has done nothing but try to side-step my concerns and place blame on anything but their company. The craftsmanship of this installation is borderline criminal. Bent panels, holes in the roofing material where they just globbed a bunch of caulk on it, screwing panels down with wood screws right in the middle of a panel (no longer waterproof as the screw is an entry point for water). We are seriously disgusted at the build quality of our $16,000 roof. "Their professional team" was anything but professional. I would come home to find a team of guys lounging INSIDE my garage, using my ladders, hammers, throwing their lunch trash in my recycling bin, basically a bunch of unskilled laborers doing skilled labor for this company. In closing, we have bent over backwards to give them every opportunity to make this right. Even before I posted this review, I asked them one final time to reconsider ignoring us and never even got an email back. Do not use Southwest Metal Roofing Systems!

Showed up when they said they would & kept the area clean during the process & now my new metal roof looks great!
I was particularly impressed that after all work was completed & the final payment had been made I noticed some slight damage to the cedar on one of the dormers so I contacted Danny & within days a carpenter was onsite & the damage repaired.

We decided to go with another company (local to Wimberley) but I have seen other jobs completed by Southwest Metal Roofing Systems, and I wouldn't hesitate to use them personally, or recommend them to my friends.

The removal team came out Monday morning and the roofing team showed up Monday afternoon to help with the removal process. That is almost unheard of in this industry. They had workers cleaning up on the roof and ground as they took off the roof. There was never a mess left in the yard or flower beds. All but a couple of nails were picked up immediately. By Tuesday morning the materials were delivered, the metal seam person was on site creating the roof panels as designed and by the afternoon the roofing team had started laying the barrier and metal. The roof was completed by Friday morning with only a few touch-ups done on Saturday morning. What a group of professionals, all were extremely professional and kind to us. The roofing team handled our problematic step-down from the main roof to the patio, and now you cannot tell there was a two inch drop.
Thanks to everyone for the great job you did for us.

This was the best experience we have ever had with any home construction or remodeling. Danny Boes came out gave us a quote and we got started almost immediately. They were professional and punctual. I didnt feel they interfered at all with our normal routine as a family. The first crew came out to remove the shingles and prep for the roof installation. They were nice and very clean. My deck looked better after they did their job than what it looked like before. Our house is surrounded by trees that we love and didnt want to be hacked or damage. They listened to our concerns and everything went smoothly. I recommend them highly. The cost was comprable to their competitors. I chose them because this is a huge investment and they have a solid reputation. After all the recent rain, our roof looks great and no leaks. They were very professional. I am very impressed.
