Absolute nightmare! Everyone that has come by our home asks "what's wrong with your roof?" Well, whats wrong is that we hired Southwest Metal Roofing Systems to install a standing seam metal roof onto our home in Castle Hills. We started this adventure by receiving bids from several other companies, and decided to go with Southwest Metal Roofing because they had a professional reputation and excellent reviews ( after using them, I cannot for the life of me see how they do). They were definitely not the cheapest bid we received, but again their reputation was excellent. First sign of issues was when they were trying start the job despite the fact that it was raining every single day. I explained that I didn't want my roof removed while it was raining (duh). But, they kept assuring us that "it would be ok". When I asked them to put it in writing to back this up, they didnt press further and said "well, we'll just wait then". Once they started the job, the panels were coming off the forming machine warped. I called to speak with my sales rep but never received a call back. Once the panels were up on the home, they were still warped, but I was assured that they would "straighten up" once they were crimped tight. Well, they didnt change a bit. On the final inspection, the inspector actually said "well if you would've called us, maybe we could have replaced them or adjusted the machine, but now you're stuck with it". We did call! The overall look and build quality of our metal roof is horrible. It looks severely warped (google: oil canning), panels are crooked, crimps were done poorly or not at all in certain sections, and some of the messiest roof jack installations I've ever seen, the list goes on and on. I welcome anyone to come walk my roof and see the build quality first-hand. Southwest Metal Roofing Systems has done nothing but try to side-step my concerns and place blame on anything but their company. The craftsmanship of this installation is borderline criminal. Bent panels, holes in the roofing material where they just globbed a bunch of caulk on it, screwing panels down with wood screws right in the middle of a panel (no longer waterproof as the screw is an entry point for water). We are seriously disgusted at the build quality of our $16,000 roof. "Their professional team" was anything but professional. I would come home to find a team of guys lounging INSIDE my garage, using my ladders, hammers, throwing their lunch trash in my recycling bin, basically a bunch of unskilled laborers doing skilled labor for this company. In closing, we have bent over backwards to give them every opportunity to make this right. Even before I posted this review, I asked them one final time to reconsider ignoring us and never even got an email back. Do not use Southwest Metal Roofing Systems!
