Solis Custom Tile

They installed approx 1900 sqft of laminate flooring, 2 lights and 2 appliances. and Ivan was also supposed to build a bookcase into my island which officially he did but not to my requested design specs and while I wasn't home so now I am left with a very unattractive unit. My primary issue with Ivan is his overall lack of professionalism. I never received quotes, receipts or invoices for work done. He would re-schedule 20 minutes before he was supposed to arrive. I had no agreed upon timeline so it got stretched to fit his other jobs. Ivan and his crew are nice people and they did an effective job. However I am left with a list of incomplete tasks which now need to be completed by me or another contractor. Perhaps the most disturbing piece of this is that he recommended I install the laminate in my kitchen and small bathroom, promising me the material would tolerate water. (I had never seen the product packaging or specs), and this is most definitely not the case. Recently I had a fish tank leak and I now have a lot of damaged flooring, so I called Ivan to give him a chance to right his wrong. He gave me a quote for labor (not including removal of the damaged floor which I offered to do to save money) that was full price. Now maybe he doesn't like me since I fired him off the last job, but he had a chance to have a happy customer and he missed that opportunity by a very long shot.

He is very responsive to phone calls. His contactors are good and did quality work. Overall we were fairly satisfied with the work, there were a couple of things were I wished they would have paid attention to detail a little more.  The price was reasonable as well. 

All work was done by employee with no oversight of contractor. Individual worked steady and seemed to be doing a good job. It was only after he left that I noticed that in some places the tile was not flush against the baseboards especially the closet Emplpyee filled in areas with grout to cover up mistakes. Contractor (Mr. Solis was shown sloppy work and ofered to put quater round molding to cover problem areas, statinsg that he always offered and in fact preferred to do this at no extra cost, We agreed becausw we wanted to be able to have furniture replaced (heavy items) and try to get house back to normal as soon as possible. We then noted extra design work was not cosistant around outside border of square. We did not notify contractor of this since my wife wanted to get room straightened up and usable again..

Ivan Solis actually drove out to our place with wood samples. We picked out the wood and paid him. That was 4:00 p.m on the last Friday in February of 2010. The following Monday he was at our new home installing the wood in two bedrooms and a walk-in closet. He completed that effort on Tuesday. He than was hired by the company we purchased the new home from to do all the new tile, cement ramp, and clean existing tile, and re-stain grout. He was finished by thursday the same week. The workmanship and professionalism of Ivan Solis and his work crew was absolutely the best. Who brings wood samples to your home in this day and age? Who says they will start the work on the next business day and actually start the work and finish it ahead of schedule. My floors are so gorgeous. Wood, tile, the ramp in the laundry room vice a step down (it was done so well, you cannot tell there was ever a step there and no one notices the gentle slope) done to perfection. They are also very neat and leave the area cleaned up. How refreshing is that! I would use Ivan Solis again and again. Beautiful wookmanship, excellent quality, fair price, exceeds time schedule, leaves the premises clean and is honest!
