SKYLIGHTS OVER TEXAS

I was referred to this contractor to seal a leaking skylight. I called them and immediately my call went to voice mail - that's a bad start. UGH. I left a message asking them to call me. Two business days and no reply later, I called them again and after listening to elevator music, a guy answered. He was distracted and as I was explaining my situation, he had a conversation with someone else. He was totally dis-interested in helping me. Finally after humming and hawing, he said he'd have someone call me back. That was that! No ability to schedule an inspection on this call. But, he did inform me they'll charge $50 to come out to look. Poor initial experience so I'll find someone else to seal my skylight.

After contacting the company a representative arrived the next day to look at my problem. He went on the roof,measured each of the skylights  and presented a solution with upgrades at no additional cost. Three days later the repair crew arrived and replaced the skylights with the upgraded skylights. The new skylights  were a improvement we could not have imagined. Very pleased from start to finish.

It went well. My only complaints are that they failed to ask us if we had spare shingles (we did), which would have saved their going to buy more. They also had to be reminded to clean up some debris which fell inside the house.

Our home is of an older vintage without many windows. I contacted Jeff Galan at Skylights over Texas for an estimate of costs. Jeff responded to my home within two day, surveyed the area and followed up with an statement of work to be accomplished along with an estimated cost of $1340.00. As I needed to gain approval from our Home Owners Association for the work, work was delayed. Jeff did, however, schedule the work for the day following the HOA meeting date. My request was approved on Tuesday, 2 September and Jeff's crew began work on 3 September. Arturo and his helper came at about 0900 on worked until probably 1900. The passageway skylight was completed on the first day. The bathroom skylight was delayed due to work being done by an electrician. Arturo returned on Thursday morning, got right on the job and was through by 1200. I must say that these folks did a superb job of cleaning up after their work. Not a trace of debris was evident. My wife and I were very satisfied with the work performed as the Skylights provide much more light, a completely different atmosphere with all the light.

Had difficulty scheduling due to all the rain, but very responsive, explained findings in detail. Very fair would definitely call again.

This is actually the third skylight job Jeff and his folks have done in our home. About 5 years ago they put two skylights on the solid roof over our patio and did and excellent job. Last year we had them put two skylights in our living room again did an excellent job. Because of the quality of their work we decided to have an old poor quality skylight light in the master bath that had been installed by a general contractor be replaced by Skylights over Texas. It was a complicated job that required using electrical wire from the exhaust fan while keeping the exhaust fan usable as well as removing the existing skylight and installing the venting electrical skylight. The only issue that occurred was the ceiling paint did not match. This problem was addressed and redone. We would highly recommend Skylights over Texas.
