I was recommended to Art by a friend. I had no problem with him returning my phone calls. He was prompt giving me an estimate. His estimate was very reasonable as well as his work was right on I had some water damage on my ceiling needing repair. Ceiling fans installed curtains hung bathroom towel racks replaced, painting and repaired holes in door like they were never there all done in a timely manner he was very clean in the since he protected my belongings and always cleaned up afterwards. I would highly recommend and will always use him in the future. My go to contractor!

Fabulously! Art is a master at his craft. He is on time, stays in touch, reasonably priced, and I will defuse him in the future for further projects in my home. I highly recommend.

They never called back to give an estimate

Art does a great job and is easy to work with. He is also very neat, orderly in his process and careful about attention to detail. Have been using him for several different projects.

Art did a good job on the ceiling. I removed the popcorn; he came in and refinished the ceiling to a smooth/flat finish (125 sf). Looks good. I'm satisfied with the job.

Art was hard to initially contact. (Which should have told me something) But was able to setup an appointment for him to give me an estimate. He reviewed the areas for sheet rock repair and texture and we discussed the job. He said he would prepare an estimate an call me back in a few days. He never called back, nor returned several calls, emails and texts. Had I reviewed the comments of previous clients who had the same experience I would have never contacted him. I was only going on the good overall rating he has on Angies List. My lesson learned. I will not trust the overall ratings of Angies List any longer and find my repair people elsewhere. This person has no respect for people and can not be trusted. I don't understand how Angies List can give him high ratings when he has caused unmeasured loss of people's time and their unnecessary concern.

In the process of remodeling our vanity area the walls became a mess. We needed to move several outlets as well as remove some box light fixtures and the counter top. This resulted in several holes in the wall and damaged surface areas. In addition, we discovered three layers of wallpaper that needed to be removed. We did what was possible ourselves, then called Art for help. Even though it was a holiday, he came out on Labor Day to start work. It took part of three days, but at last he completed the job and it looks great. He is a very personable guy and his price is more than fair. We do recommend him and will use his service again.

Took 3 days for a return phone call requesting an appointment for an estimate. When call was returned and I tried to schedule an appointment, I was told that he "might", "maybe" show up for a scheduled appointment, it would depend on how busy he was that day. Why would I lose time from work for someone who "might", "maybe" show up? My time is also valuable. Good thing I learned up front about the lack of professionalism. I would have hated to start a job with someone that "might", "maybe" show up to do the work.

Art came by and looked at the job and provided an estimate. He then came out and did the work. The quality of his texture matching is incredible. I've had several people look at the ceiling and ask me where Art worked on it. The texture matches so well you can't find the repair, even in good lighting.

Art did a fantastic job of patching up drywall in my house to prepare for selling. I had put some in-ceiling speakers into my first story, which meant I had to cut some large holes in the drywall of closets upstairs. He also patched some holes in high-visibility area that resulted from a heavy children?s toy falling down the stairs and crashing into the wall. I had several TVs that were mounted on walls that I removed and he patched up the holes created by running cables. Complicating all of this was a heavy paint texture, Monterrey Drag, which extremely difficult to match. Even though I know where the work was done, I can't see any variation in pattern.

Art was a pleasure to deal with, He was prompt and courteous. I am very grateful for the outstanding results of his work. One cannot tell where the patch was made because he did such a good job.

Art was awesome. Very nice guy, professional and good at what he does. Returned my phone call on the same day, he actually came out that same day to look at the problem. Send me an electronic estimate two days later and did the work the following week. All the work was started and completed that same day. He's now on my list of contacts because we will definitely be calling him again.

Called in the morning and left message to request an estimate. Contractor called back at end of day, and I described work to be done--sheetrock repair in one room of older house involving about a dozen cracks above and below window frames. Mr. Martinez complained about having too much work from a landlord he works for who owns over 20 rental homes. Also, he said he had 2 other major jobs coming up in the next few months. He did not even want to come out to look at room and give me an estimate. He suggested I call him back in a few weeks (!) if I was still interested in having the work done because he would then have a better handle on the time involved in his other work. Although other reviewers indicate Mr. Martinez will do smaller jobs, apparently this is no longer the case. When I asked if he could recommend someone else who could do this work, he said no. This contractor may do good work as indicated by other Angie members, but my experience certainly contradicts his high ranking on this site.

This man was the best, most efficient and overall professional in his specialty.

He showed up as stated and had everything. Very professional. Used drop cloths and cleaned up. Quick and efficient, superb work. He matched the texture and paint.

He came in looked at the project left & never contacted me again....I did try to reach him left him a voice mail, my name & number.....even though he had ME write it on his tablet (computer) he didn't even have the Common courtesy to acknowledge my call & knowing that I found him on ANGIE?s LIST he had to know the review was not going to be good......What a waste of my time!!!!!

Art Martinez did a wonderful job painting some rooms in my rental house. I explained I was getting the house ready to sell and he was very accommodating with his scheduling. The rooms look wonderful. He did a great job with prepping and painting the rooms. He told me which types of paint would work best for the rooms and he is very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this true professional!!

Art Martinez did a wonderful job! He was there on time and worked completely until the job was completed. The crack had old repairs that looked terrible. He ripped out all the old and repaired the damage underneath, that was originally was not done correctly. He then finished the walls with a better than expected finish! I will definitely hire him again in the future!!

Art worked like a fine tune. He was never late, polite. He took pride in his work and always cleaned up. I could not have been happier.

Definitely would recommend Art. He performed the work as specified and went above expectations. Art Martinez is professional, knowledgable, polite and trustworthy. He was often left alone to work in the home. The work was started and completed on the agreed upon dates. I appreciated his consultative approach. Very satisfied!!!

Art did excellent work. When we first contacted him he was not available for four weeks, but it was worth the wait. When he became available, he was very responsive. He kept us informed by email, was on time and did a great job for a reasonable price. We are very happy with the work he did.You cannot even tell where the repairs were done. We would definitely recommend him and use his services again.

Art was very responsive to our initial call. He came out, viewed the work we needed done, explained in detail how he would do it and provided us an estimate. We agreed on a date to begin work and he was here exactly as promised. He did exactly what he said he would, finished the job in exactly the time he estimated and to the satisfaction of my extremely picky husband. We will definitely use Art again and recommend him if you need sheetrock repair! He was also a pleasure to talk to!

Art contacted me within a day of service request to let me know that he was booked for the next two weeks. I went ahead and scheduled service with him for the next two days he was available. We communicated details of the job over email, and he warned me of the difficulties in matching acoustical patterns. He called each day to let me know he was enroute, and explained everything that he was going to do. He prepared the worksite to keep dust and debris off of existing furniture. Art did an amazing job resecuring the ceiling, and then explained why it had failed and what he had done to fix it. He completely cleaned up afterwards, and set up a return time. He came back the next day, reprepped, and finished the sanding and the acoustical ceiling. Despite his warnings that the acoustical ceiling may not match, he did an excellent job of blending it in and matching the original work and color - you have to know where the work was done to be able to see it under the right conditions. Incredibly pleased with the results, the value, and Art.

Art was able to meet with me the same day for an estimate, he was negotiable on the price and explained all work in detail. The day work was scheduled, he showed up on time to the minute and ready to work. The work was completed within the time quoted and the work was seamless. Nice work!
