Loved how they had lots of availability when I needed it. Service technician checked my A/C system and right away relayed the issue and offered solutions. Issue was resolved quickly and I now have a cool house. Recommended and will use again.

Today Shafer Services sent its technician Brandon Baron to check the function of the AC, which I had requested as part of a service plan I had acquired earlier this month since I feel the AC, the tankless water heater, and potential defects with the plumbing system should be left alone. The young man was friendly and polite and took his time to check the outside and inside units thoroughly. Then he explained what he had been doing and recommended additions to the unit, which would extend the life of the AC. I am glad he did all that since I want a reliable AC that is not only cooling but also has the capability to provide me with healthy air. Thank you, Brandon. Good job!

They performed an overall maintenance check which was extremely detailed. I was shown pictures of my system and given specifics about what was needed to fix the problem. The HVAC Tech was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Excellent work

Wonderfully efficient

We learned today that Shafer Services in San Antonio, Texas has been scamming us on our A/C system for 5 years. Claiming to need to replace parts under warranty so they could charge us expensive labor. We caught them in a lie when our A/C certified contractor took a look and saw the leak in the coil they were claiming to need to fix at a cost of $1200 was perfectly fine. By the way the same coil was replaced one year earlier. They claim it's bad from the manufacturer. There was no leak at all. Then they went to the trouble to try to cover it up. We recorded everything and have proof of the fraud. However, sadly we also learned that most A/C companies do the same. They will confidently tell you to get a second opinion because they are all in on it. My contractor fixed what they broke in trying to cover their tracks for $125 (filled up the freon and replaced the traitor valve they broke). My advice if you've also been having lots of trouble with your A/C according to Shafer or any of these scam companies, is to ask for proof of what is broken and then when they try to show that proof, hire a contractor who is A/C certified to verify it. Our contractor told us exactly what they would do, word for word and that is exactly what they tried to pull on us. Do not trust them. We originally trusted them and gave them five stars all over the internet. We fell for this little scam where they pretend to save you from everyone else and then they just start scamming you with their "regular maintenance" and fixes when issues come up. And I promise, there will be issues.

The reroute went great. The price was outrageous. $4,100.00 plus another $325.00 to locate leak, however my other plumber had already located and capped off. He backed off the job because it was too big for him. Had a second slab leak in another part of the house at same time. The plumbers I hired rerouted that one for $1,400.00. Huge difference. I told Charlie when I fired them that is was an excessive charge. Insurance doesn't help with that part of the problem. It only pays for the damage the problem made. Sure would be nice if we could recover some of that cost because deductible is $5,000 plus plumbing.

I am completely satisfied with the job Larry Arriaga did. Larry is extremely knowledgeable, conscientious, and displays good attention to detail. He is very thorough, very professional, and explains the problem, how he will repair it, and is very easy to speak with. Larry did a wonderful job and I will definitely use his services again. I highly recommend him!

Ismael came out. Annalized the problem and quoted me a price to fix the problem. Ismael was very courteous and professional. The line was cleaned out and water emptied from the washing machine normally. Thanks for having employees such as Ismael.

I had a great experience with Franc and Shafer Services. I was originally planning just to have a system flush, but my water heater was leaking and needed to be replaced. Franc was honest and straightforward. He was able to replace the water heater within an hour or so for a good price and even ensured the fixtures were in proper working order. Paying for plumbing work gives me anxiety, especially work I don’t really understand. But Franc and Shafer were fair, prompt and responsive. Would highly recommend.

Repairman was here for 30 minutes or less. Said they don’t work on dishwashers. Then we proceeded to bathroom for sink faucet repair,,, said he couldn’t remove cover to repair faucet and that he didn’t have tools to do so. Said the expensive faucet pair would have to be sawed off and replaced and that he couldn’t do this either. I went to Home Depot the next day and bought a faucet removal tool and repaired myself. BOTTOM LINE: he said I owed the company $125 for service call,,, he did nothing and I was left in the same boat I was in before calling Shafer

service technician was very late. He told me the type of water heater I had would probably need a part replaced because it could be damaged when he drained it. I have never heard of that. I told him to keep it moving. I am thoroughly disappointed. The coupon did me no good.

After they quote me a price of $320,00 for a leak that only needs a seal and the bathtub is only 5 years old. No way!. There trying to get rich real quick. And two (2) men.

Blower motor replaced. Augie was great, as usual. Very professional and very efficient. I believe Chase assisted, he was great, too.

Perfectly, Ismael was very courteous and very helpful. He actually fixed another small issue I was having with my faucet, just because he was there. Will definitely use again.

AC install went great. Jason diagnosed the problem quickly. Booth helped us pick the right solution for us. Augie and Jimmy did the install, they did a great job. Augie and Jimmy came back a few days later and did another install of the IQ air, and they again were very courteous, knowledgeable, and answered all of my questions. Will definitely continue to use them.

Nick G. comes and inspects our A/C every 6 months for any potential issues. He is very thorough and takes the time to make recommendations (but no pressure) that will help us in our utility bills, etc. We have a lot of confidence in Schafer.

Quick fast professional service. No hard sell or tying to add items to jack up the cost. After installation submitted all the required paper work for the GEVC rebate and was approved in one day.

We had a pipe leak behind our shower. They came in and inspected the area. They informed us all options. They were very knowledgeable and patient with our questions. Highly recommend using them again.

You should only use these people as a last resort. The job they do is fine but the price is around four times what others charge. I only went through with it because we were in a bind without water to the house. If you have money to burn, go for it.
