Chris and his guys worked on a big project for us. We had them install an iron fence in the front yard. They also built an iron carport. That carport itself looks great so far. Chris offered to pour a concrete slab for the carport and we agreed on a price. 10 months later, the concrete slab has at least 10 cracks running up, down and side to side. It seriously looks bad and it makes me wonder if it’s going to hold up the carport. My husband and I contacted Chris, sent him pictures and a video to show him the cracks. He said he would be by on a certain day and never showed. We’ve been texting him and he has gone radio silent. Now I’m wondering if the rest of the job like the fence and carport are structurally safe since my confidence in their workman ship is very poor. I would not recommend them to anyone. Maybe for a small welding job but I won’t have them to another job for me again. Beware !!

Looked real nice . BUT 1yr later 20 of 65 posts came loose and I went ahead and added 3bags of cement . Cannt trust them to do it ! Also I asked to put in the best motor gate opener and less than a year 1 stopped working. Jason(son) said motherboard was bad and fixed it due to 3 yr warranty. 2 yrs later it went out again. Jason came again and now battery was bad for the solar opener, so I bought the one he recommended and still NOT working. I've called 9 times and always tomorrow. THEY dont stand behind their work ! Plenty of better fence companies to hire. I spent $30,000 and should have waited for more reviews on this company. THen would have chosen someone else ! After they get your money then forget it , you wont hear from them even though they say there is a warranty . JUST like ANY CONTRACTOR !!

We needed railings installed at back steps per requirements for our home insurance. They did not inform us of this need until the required improvement was supposed to be completed and we were given a limited amount of time to get it done. Our home is in a rural area about 30 miles from shopping, so it is sometimes difficult to get services done to our home. Serratos came out the same day I called and gave me an estimate of time and cost for the project Within 3 days my railings were installed, just in time for inspection by our insurance company. The gentleman was very polite and well spoken and delivered what he promised. I would definitely refer Serratos to my friends and neighbors and I would use them again for any future improvements. I am enjoying the railings, as they are really sturdy, and can now exit the back of home with safety.

He came to my house to give me an estimate, but he didn't give me a price. He said he would get back to me. He never got back to me. Don't waste your time with this guy. He probably won't even return your call. It's a miracle he even came to my house.

The contractor came out with Chuck and measured and gave an estimate. There being few companies in our area who do this kind of work, we accepted. When the windows and painting were finished, we asked Chuck to arrange the ironwork installation. We waited twelve days, which was unacceptable a delay, and we told him so. He made the excuse that he had another job to finish before coming to do ours. That was understandable, however, he installed the locking grate on the wrong windows (the correct ones were well marked) and had to come back to move them. One of them is still unmoved, because the sizing was incorrect. The grates themselves are quite well made and installed correctly.

Serrato's did an outstanding job. The bid was $1000 less than closest competitor, the timeline for fabrication was much faster (10 days vs 1-2 months), and the dimensions of the staircase matched the previous wooden installation (other bidders advised they would be narrower), with modifications to make sure everything was up to code. Work began immediately after we signed the contract and made a down payment for the job. I was given the choice between concrete and metal steps and landing. All steel were primered and painted, also all spot-welds were sanded, primered and painted. The stairs were installed within 10 days. Installation was delayed by 2 days, but Fernando (the owner of the company) called to explain that an issue at another worksite prevented him from starting. Once the work was underway it was completed efficiently. The quality of the workmanship was first-rate. I would give the highest recommendation to Serrato's.

Serrato's was a bit slow, but in the end, his estimate was half what another place quoted me, and I received a custom design that matched existing ironwork already on the house.  While it is sometimes tough to contact them, their shop is always busy, and I think his work is worth the wait.  I'd use them again!

I started with research on Angies. I was hesitant to call because a few people mentioned the company didn't call them back, they were late to the scheduled install, and rude on the phone. I reviewed some of their work on their website and I was impressed. They install gates and doors on estates; their work was certainly good enough for my little 1920's bungalow. Besides Serratos is located in my neighborhood and I believe in buying locally. I called to set up an appointment for a quote. The owner answered the phone promptly and courteously. We agreed to meet at my house later that afternoon. He was at my house waiting on me at the agreed upon time. Mr. Serrato and I discussed my needs. He began measuring my entryway and realized there were several inches of trim around my door way. He suggested rather than simply install the new security door over the excess trim, his workers (son) would remove the trim and widen the entryway by almost six inches. This step would also improve the integrity of the door by anchoring directly into the frame. Mr Serrato offered to have his son install the door the following day, Saturday. I wasn't in that big of a hurry, so I deferred the work until Monday.
His son and another family member were there Monday evening to install the door. The door design matched the burglar bars already present on my home perfectly. They were in and out quickly, cleaning up any mess from the installation. They even hauled off the old trim and storm door.
I would recommend them to anyone. Very pleased with their work.

Communication was a little absent and slow. But he is an honest guy and I think he just gets overwhelmed with work. So you may need to be a little flexible. But for his price, I think its worth it.

I should have known when he didn't return phone calls that he wouldn't show up for the appointment we set on the one time he did answer the phone.

I had a reference who said Mr. Serrato did the kind of work I needed at a good price. So I went by the shop but he wasn't in. Someone there called him and he said he would phone me back. He didn't. I called three more times and left messages. Finally I called and he answered his phone and we set an appointment for him to come for an estimate. He never showed up and never called.

There seems to be work being done at the shop but it sure isn't mine!

We found Serrato's while driving in our neighborhood, their shop is located on the Corner of Cincinnati and Fredericksburg in the 5 points area of San Antonio, they have a business sign and examples of their work. We called 12 June 2011 and ask for a quote. The owner's son came that afternoon, took some measurements and showed us examples of his work. We liked what we saw, but nothing really matched the 1930's iron work already found in the house. He drew an interpretation of the existing designs and quoted $2200 for the Custom designed Gates and Window piece. He stated that he would need to make special jig for the design and would keep it for later work. We liked the price, the design and the company, so we wrote a check with a promise that the work should be completed with in a couple of weeks.

The work took about a month, but the owner always kept us informed of the progress and we never felt like we were taken advantage of. Actually, we liked that they did not rush the process, instead ensuring that the iron work would perfectly match our home. During that time, Serratos would bring parts of the gates to our home for us to inspect and verify placement. Their attention to detail is amazing!
The Gates were installed in July and worked fine until the first big rain in October. Serratos came out, build a new brace for the gate and installed it for free. We are brining them back this Summer to install a wrought iron fence and back gate around our back yard.
