It went excellent overall. They are awesome. I have always had really good service with them. They are honest, very thorough, and as far as I know, all of the mechanics are well skilled; they can fix any car I take in there.

Don't get me wrong, they did exactly what I paid them to do. Was the customer service the best? No way!! Maybe, because they had an acre of cars to work on and they figured that if I didn't want them as a mechanic, they could make money on the next guy, but every time I called to check on my car, someone made me feel like they were doing me a favor by answering the phone. Was the job done properly, absolutely!! Although, it took them a full week to do it. See above comment on the acre of cars. In the end it was a business transaction. Plain and simple.

My experience with him has always been good. I've used him now since 1998 for all of my vehicles and my parent's vehicles, my brother's vehicles, even friends. It has always been good.

I have taken my car to Rubens a number of times and have recommended him whole heartedly to a number of friends. The work is always done when promised, and the price quote is very seldome off. They make sure of what they need to do before they give you a quote and time frame. They are a family business and make you feel like you are always welcome there.

They are an honest shop who wants to fix the problem right. Everybody there seems to be well trained technicians who are very contentious about the work they do. I would use them again in the future.

Went in for oil leak, and they kept piling on more and more items they said were leaking. Started as 1 single problem, then they "found" another, then "another". Nice guys in front office, but the owner seems to be out to make a buck, and I don't trust their mechanics. Dealership is actually cheaper on many repairs - I have compared. Got out of there as fast as I could, never been back, never will be. It's a shame since I brought multiple vehicles to them over a few years, and the guys in the front office are really good people. It's what's behind the door that's the problem. Not sure what happened to this place.

I went directly to Ruben's after having driven 2 hours with windows down and not working. This was late on a Friday afternoon. Ruben's took the vehicle in and placed it inside the shop to protect the interior immediately. At 9AM Monday morning I received a call telling me my vehicle was ready. That was a fast turn around! Not all problems can be repaired that quickly, how ever the quality is always there.

I took the car to Ruben's on a recommendations from an upholsterer who had replaced the convertible top. He said they were the most honest bunch I'd ever find. I had a power steering fluid leak that seemed to come and go. Two other shops had done work on the car and estimated fixing the leak. First Belden Automotive said the power steering pump was leaking and needed to be replaced at a cost of $700. I wanted a second opinion so I asked Two Fat Guys to check it during an oil change. They said the power steering pump was fine, but the steering box was leaking and would cost $1400 to replace. At that point I thought if I was going to spend $1400 it had to be with someone trustworthy so I went with my upholsterers recommendation. Ruben called me about two days later and said all I needed was a power steering hose, but also had a radiator hose starting to leak. They replaced both for $300. I was completely happy with the service from start to finish. I feel like I have finally found an honest auto shop in San Antonio after 4 or 5 bad experiences. If you are looking for friendly, honest, competent auto repair I HIGHLY recommend Ruben's.

This shop was really highly recommended, and I felt that they were completely honest, because they could have just fixed it without telling me, so I was glad that they tried to save me the money. However, my car sat at the shop for TWO DAYS before they were even able to look at it. They never called to tell me how long it would be. Instead, I had to keep calling back to find out what was going on. When I finally picked up the car they were apologetic, but I feel they should have told me how busy they were and given me an idea of how long it was going to take.
