River City Deck and Patio

There was an existing (approximately 20 years old) arbor that was in bad condition. We hired River City Deck and Patio (RCDP) after reviewing their proposal. It was in three phases-1. remove existing structure and build replacement; 2. RCDP arranged for a sub-contractor to stain the new structure and 3. RCDP arranged for a sub-contractor to apply a coating and stain over existing concrete. 1. There were problems with the pencil drawing and measurements made by the sales person which developed into a disagreement with RCDP's owner over changes required because the arbor couldn't be built the way it was drawn and had to revert back to original structure configuration. 2- RCDP's work crew consisted of one person. When I complained I was assured that he didn't need an assistant. As it turned out, he didn't but it took him almost two weeks to complete. The carpenter told me that since he was not

Superb experience.  

We heard all manner of horror stories about contractors doing shoddy worksmanship, not returning calls, or being outright fraudulent and 'taking the money and running'.  Being new to the area we were concerned about being 'taken' in this manner.

Lee, Heidi and their crews were great to work with through and through.  Daily communication from the owner of the company regarding updates on the project supplemented the excellent work by all of their crews.  They handled the HOA headaches, soil testing, permitting and, of course, the construction and design every step of the way.

They were good to work with in terms of financial terms as well, which put us at ease.  We paid them step by step in multiple tranches as progress was made.

For those requested services that they didn't provide, they provided recommendations for other contractors (e.g., staining, electrical) that were excellent to work with as well.

I strongly recommended them to my neighbors and family.  My father-in-law hired them for a massive deck project and is similarly impressed with all manner of their service.

River City Deck and Patio is what they call themselves. It is actually beautiful, they did a beautiful job. I would like other Angie's List members to know that they were honest, reliable and did nice work. The high quality craftsmanship stood out the most. I also liked the sales process, it felt like he was being honest with me. He let me show him what I was interested in but told me if it probably was a good idea or not for the certain things that I came up with. It was well supervised and had a personal touch by the owner.

We decided to use River City to expand our concrete patio and build an arbor over it. Our initial consultation visit from Lee filled us with confidence that this company could make our vision a reality. And River City did not disappoint. Every step of the construction process was completed in a timely and professional manner. When the weather caused uncontrollable delays, communication was always immediate and honest. The finished product is everything we were hoping for. The patio and arbor are beautiful. Thank you, River City, for making our backyard dream come true!

I reviewed and interviewed several providers before i chose River City Deck and Patio.  I found them to be the most professional and they did the best job of listening to what i wanted and responding reasonably.  They were definitely a great choice, as Lee was responsive and attentive.  There were a few things that needed attention to finish the project and those were done promptly.  Lee also offered the best design and had the best ideas for our backyard project. I thought the quality of workmanship was very good and the price was very competitive.  It looks great!  Overall, i think this company did an excellent job for me at a great price and i'm happy to give them a positive review.
