PondCare of San Antonio

The price and availability was reasonable. I was excited to have the leak identified and fixed so that my pond would stop leaking water every day. Initially I had confidence that Karl would be able to complete this task but quickly because concerned when he only partially removed the flagstone and re-cemented it unevening back in place. I paid him the money but the pond continued to leak 2-3 inches a day. He came back out 5-6 times over 4 months because I was not satified that the pond still leaked and each time the stone work looked worse and worse as he kept concreting things and adding black foam everywhere attempting to just by luck stop the leak. I asked for part of the money back because I will have to hire someone else to do the job. He has quit responding to my emails. I lost $800 and the pond looks worse.

Karl is very knowledgeable when it comes to all things pond related! This is the second time I used Karl to work on my pond.

Arrived on time and went to work. Did excellent job and finished in one day. Pond and fish look great. No more cleaning filters. New installed pond cleaner (similar to pool filters) does all cleaning and real easy to operate to clean out filter system. Water crystal clear.

He did a great job and started and finished on time. The price was very reasonable and we are very happy with the service. He fixed a leak around the waterfall and worked on the overall look of the pond. Our pond is a few years old and needed to be freshened up too. He brought in more rocks and fixed the natural look of the pond because it had settled over the years. He cleaned out the pump and filters and our waterfall works like it was new again! We will definately use him again.

I was pleased with the service initially. PondCare of San Antonio responded right away when I called and left a message. They came to work on the fountain. It is in the back yard, and had not worked well since I moved in to the house. They went ahead and gave me an estimate. It was expensive but I was willing to do it because he said he was able to fix it. Unfortunately, I've had to call him multiple times to come back because it is still not working properly. Even the container that holds the fountain is not level, it is somewhat crooked, so I ended up actually texting him this weekend to please get back to me, because now he won't even answer my calls. I've finally just started texting him and he seems to respond via that way. I'm disappointed that it has been so hard to get him to come back and fix it. He came after lunch on the Friday and he did work for a few hours. I was willing to spend that kind of money because I've tried to hire other people in the past, and they have tried to fix the problem and couldn't. I would pay $100 here and $100 there and ultimately the fountain would not get repaired. So when he promised that he could fix all the problems with it, I was willing to pay this amount of money, considering that I had already spent a lot of money trying to go the cheap way! If the fountain had been done properly in the beginning I would say I was ok with the price. But since I'm continuing to have problems, I'm not happy with it. The work all seemed to be good quality: he bought a whole new pump, whatever he bought to keep the water circulating like some kind of a spa pool, that all seemed to be fine. When he came over that day we had scheduled the appointment, he was a couple hours late, but that didn't bother me because I was running late as well. But he didn't call [to tell me he was] a couple hours late.

It was very difficult to find pond maintenance through Angie's List. Finally, I found it under Landscaping/Fountains. A pond is not a fountain. You need a category called Ponds or Water Features.
Karl Stewart, the owner of Pond Care of San Antonio, and his helper, Michael, came to assess my needs within an hour of my calling and scheduled the work within a week. Karl had several suggestions about ways to save money. He and Michael were wonderful to work with and were more knowledgeable than anyone else who has worked on my pond, pump and filter. I will use Pond Care for regular maintenance.

They came on time day following a consultation.  Finished everything in one day.  Thoruoughly cleaned the pond, left everything in good order when they were finished.  Appeared to be very knowledgeable about ponds, plants, fish, and equipment.

In my backyard i have a 40 foot stream and pond that was installed in 2006.  Over time, the waterfall box had sunk in the rear and was losing water over the back and sides.  I knew I wasn't going to have any time to try and repair this myself, so I contacted Pond Care of San Antonio via their website on Friday night, and by Saturday morning I had received a call from Karl Stewart.  Karl came out that same afternoon to look at my situation further and provide an estimate.  It was clear from the beginning that Karl was very knowledgeable on ponds and pond construction.  In looking at my setup, he noticed that the original installer had taken some shortcuts in installing the system, and that since he would be pulling the waterfall box out anyway to reposition it, he would try to go ahead and replumb it the right way (the original installer had simply laid the recirculating water line over and into the box, rather than running the line lower underground and connecting it right into the box).  Karl indicated he had availability on Tuesday and his estimate was very reasonable, so we made arrangements for him to come out on Tuesday to do the work.
On Tuesday, Karl arrived in the morning and spent most of the day on the project.  He completely pulled out the waterfall box, sanded and compacted a new base layer, re-angled the waterfall box to the right position so that it would flow correctly without losing water out of the rear or sides, addressed all of the plumbing opportunities by reinstalling the proper way, improved the layout of the rocks and waterfall, and did some fine tuning of the 40' stream that leads to the pond.  He then took time to explain everything he had done to my wife.  When I came home to see the repairs, I was totally thrilled with the outcome.  Karl showed that he is a true professional when it comes to water features and really knows this space.  I will definitely use him again should any other issues arrive with my pond and highly recommend his services.
