Initial repair seemed ok, but failed after a few years. When we called in about the warranty, they first denied ever having done the work, then quoted us an obscene amount of money to repair “under warranty” (roughly the same as what we would pay to have another company come do non-warranty work). We have multiple measurements showing that the piers they installed are no longer level, but they deny that that is the case and refuse to work with us. We spoke to several people there including the owner and were told “we can waste our money on a lawsuit if we want” but they won’t help us. We are currently reviewing bids from three other companies to repair the work this company did. Avoid at all costs.

Perma Pier’s repair was prompt and guaranteed for the life of the home. They worked with my property manager and made long-distance management of the repairs easy.

The process was ok from what I can tell. The only thing is after the work was done they brought in their sister plumbing company and performed a hydrostatic sewer test. The tech said that I more than likely i had a broken drain pipe under the foundation and it would cost an additional $400 dollars for a leak locate test. If a leak was found they would have to break the concrete and repair the leak at an additional cost. The tech said more than likely the company would not cover this repair. I wish they would of done this test before the foundation lift as it was easy to do. So they purposely wait till after the lift to do it so they can say there was a possibility it was there before and not cover it. Also, they will not warranty the lift untill the hydrostatic test is passed.

It started great. They were quick to provide an estimate, and provided me with two options. Option 1: Shim my house (1,100 sq ft) for $3,500 and Option 2: replace several piers for $7,500. When discussing the options with Carlos Garza, he recommended just shimming the house as pier replacement wasn't necessary. Well I should have got this in writing. After a year, in which there was substantial movement (resettling) I had them come out as it was still under warranty. Mr. Garza said the only option was to replace all the piers! He then told me he never recommended shimming in the first place, and would never have done that if I had not insisted on it! Needless to say, I learned a valuable lesson, but would never recommend using them for any service.

Although I did not end up purchasing the home, they did not charge me when the sale fell through. They showed up on time, were professional, and responded very quickly. I would certainly use them again in the future.

The work they did was good, but what the salesman promised and what was done took many phone calls to get resolved and they left dirt piled up all around the house which we had to fixed. .

Perma Pier contracts with a plumbing company AAA Auger, They called and said they had to do an inspect\ion so I said ok and they came out before the work was done, not knowing that the inspection should have been done after the foundation work was completed and then lied to Larissa Pope saying they had tried to call numerous times, when in fact they called once and didn't leave a voicemail. A month after the work was completed we put the house on the market and received a cash offer within the first week and when I called about the warranty I was told oh we can't issue the warranty because you didn't have the inspection done.

I said the inspection was done only to be told it shouldn't have been done before the work but after the work was completed. The plumber was called out and low and behold they found a $10,000 repair. I ended up using our own plumber which was $2,000 cheaper and fix another problem that wasn't identified by AAA. Needless to say if this was caught originally we could have had the work done before the house went on the market. We lost the first cash sale and almost lost a second cash sale. I have to say was easy to work with. My home and my son's home both are in need of foundation repair, but after my experience with Perma Pier on my mothers house I will not be using them.

After measuring all points regarding level of the foundation (one end of the house to the other), he found no location to be out of the engineering standards. He said mapping of the measurements would not be necessary at this time. He provided a signed written report for the fee of $50. He also said that doing anything to change the foundation might cause more harm than good. We appreciate his professional approach and not finding problems where there are none.

They were very professional and always on time. My only complaint is I did have to wait another year before they could return to fix the original work.
Response from Perma-Pier Foundation Repair of Texas

"Thank you for your feedback. The soil stabilization solution used has a settling time we must wait out. The solution changes the characteristics of the soil from expansive to none expensive when water is applied. Due to these changes in the soil we needed to wait to perform a new solution to ensure the repair is a success. Your warranty is extended to the new solution. We appreciate your patience with us and apologize for the lapsed time. We thank you for your business and for trusting Perma-Pier Foundation Repair of Texas to repair your home. Please call us if you need anything or have any questions."

This is a rental property and vacant. I met with Salesmen Carlos Garza and at first he was so kind and sounds like he knows a little about foundation repair. The cost of the job would cost me $4700. I met with Carlos Garza twice and on the second visit (5/12/12) he assured me that the job would be done to the higher standards. That all changed when the work was supposed to have been completed. He stated I would get my home leveled but it would not be in perfect condition and I understood. I addressed my issues and he clearly stated that the home would be fixed. Once the work was complete I went over and my first question was a city permit pulled and was the engineer report ready as stated in the contract. The supervisor stated and quot;Noand quot;. He said I didn't require one and later before he left he stated that a city permit would take a week to get. The contract was signed on 5/14 which gave them a week there. I was not pleased. It was not perfect like he stated but it look like the same way I left it, unleveled. Holes were to be dug out and concrete posts and pads were to be placed. Holes were not dug out. All that was done were post in place so that the home will not come down any further no leveling was performed as stated by Felipe (Operations Supervisor). I had second thoughts and should have gone with my gut. I called Carlos Garza while I was in front of the supervisor and he asked if I was asking the right person the questions as to how the job was performed. I told him yes the supervisor was right in front of me. Carlos attitude changed and he would not let me talk and he repeatedly told me and quot;do you remember me telling youand quot;...and again he asked if I was talking to the supervisor. I told him yes and asked the guy in front of me and quot;what is your name and titleand quot; and asked Carlos should I asked for his ID as well. I did ask for it but he didn't pull it out as he thought it was a joke. I asked repeatedly if he would let me talk and explain what I saw and what I didn't agree with. He didn't let me get a word in, he kept talking and being rude and raising his voice. I had to hang up on him and decline his calls (5x). Carlos Garza is a sales man and does not know his line of work, he is unprofessional, and I felt that he thought of me as commission and nothing else. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I would not want anyone else to go through what I experienced. As of now I only paid 2400. The contract stated I pay 2400 before the job starts and 2300 after the job was complete. I would recommend anyone looking to do foundation repair to look the other way when looking up perma-pier. Visit BBB.org or in this case Angie's List before any job. I'm here now a little late for me and on Angie's List there were only two reports. Since the contract was not fulfilled the second payment has not yet been paid. This job has delayed my plans on repairing other work and renting out the house.

Update 02/16/13
They offered to come back January 14th, we set up a date, and they came back on the 21st to look at the work. Philipe recommended installing gutters. He said we should wait 90 days until we revisit the property after the gutters were installed. I emailed them back on January 31st, but they never responded. I resubmitted the case with the BBB, the second attempt was on January 8th, nothing has been done.

They were really good and professional in everything. They weren't expensive. As far as their responsiveness, they never did get back to us on a couple of times.

The estimator arrived punctually, right on the dot. He was friendly and professional. After looking over my home's situation with the sinking corner and crawling under the crawl space to check it out from below, he told me that this would be a very simple job that one or two men could do for about $100-200 in a couple of hours, and that their company ordinarily handled much larger jobs for a minimum of $1500 for a whole crew. He suggested a few small independent contractors who were reliable to handle such a small job. I thanked the estimator profusely for his amazing integrity and honesty, since if he had told me the house needed a major overhaul costing thousands, I would have unnecessarily spent money I cannot afford. I am a pastor and have a limited income. May God bless him for his honesty! If my home ever does need major levelling, I will definitely call Perma-Pier.

Perma Pier was great! Dirk was very friendly and informative. I had several foundation companies come out to give estimates and not only were they the lowest priced, but I felt that he did the most thorough inspection. His men worked as quickly as they could; it was about a 5 day job. They tried to save a lot of our plants, but to be honest, they didn't try very hard; the roots were pretty hacked up. That would probably be my only complaint. That was fine, we ended up relandscaping anyway, but I would have liked to transplant some of the plants to our backyard. They cleaned up and as far as I can tell, all issues were fixed! I also liked that they worked with our plumber (actually, it was the plumber that THEY recommended) to fix the slab leak. It saved us probably $3K having the jobs done together.
