Actually, I liked him. When he first came in, he was using some older methods to measure and I was a little concerned about that. He was an older fellow and I could tell that he was doing it for years. He was the only one out of all of them who told me that I shouldn't have the work done. If I raise the front of my house it could possibly damage the back of my house so I appreciated that. I would possibly use him if I needed to. He wasn't all clean and shiny. He was professional in regards to the type of work that he was doing.

The actual job completion went well. I wasn't always pleased with the and quot;attitudeand quot; of the owner and another gentleman who works for the company. The owner was an 84 year old man who didn't really understand the cost or what was involved, so it took longer than usual to fulfill the necessary steps needed to get the transferable warranty. I felt they were a bit and quot;pushyand quot; on the phone and rather annoyed that they couldn't close out the file because the post-foundation work hadn't been completed. That would keep me from recommending them to another real estate client who needed foundation work though the work was fine.
Description of Work: They did foundation work in two places on 219 Laramie.

Perma Jack came out and did some in-depth measuring in our house to determine where sinking /raising had taken place. Because we were also dealing with sewer repair under the house, they had to consider the wetness under the house and how that would effect the final elevations when it was dry. Coordinating with the plumbing company was detailed, because the foundation repair couldn't take place until the plumbing repairs were completed. Once the plumbing repairs were made, Perma Jack again re-measured and proposed the work they recommended. They had discussed this with an engineer and a Mason (who would need to repair brickwork once the foundation was elevated). We agreed with the plan and they worked closely with us. Their crew was professional and kept us informed of the next steps. They had the engineer present when the actual elevation was made. The masonry work was beautifully done. Thank you Paul, Randy, Raymond and staff.
Description of Work: We needed some foundation repairs because of serious shifting and sinking. We discovered also that we had sewer leaks under our house, so that complicated things. Perma Jack needed to coordinate with the plumbing company so that the foundation work would not damage the new plumbing pipes.

Super!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Description of Work: I have recently seen some cracks in my walls and ceiling and also outside in the mortor on the bricks, so I wanted to know if I had a foundation problem or the house was just settling due to the drought. I contacted Perma Jack regarding these cracks I noticed in my home. Randal French came out to the house and did a thorough evaluation including taking measurements. He determined that, based on all measurements taken, my house was well within code and that no foundation repair was needed. I greatly appreciate his professionalism and more importantly his honesty. I would definitely recommend Perma Jack to anyone in need of foundation repair services for their home and will use them should I ever have a need for their services in the future.

Randy promptly returned my call on June 24 and we set up a meeting/estimate date of June 28. He came as planned and did a survey of foundation and said he would be calling with results in a couple of days. As promised I received a call on Thursday, June 30 from the owner of the company, Paul. He explained the results of their findings in detail and based on his extensive experience, determined no foundation work was needed at this time. He suggested keeping the foundation watered, especially during these drought conditions and maybe have it checked again in a year if things got worse. In these tough economic time, finding an honest business is so appreciated
Description of Work: Only work performed was survey of foundation. See overall experience below.

He came out with the engineer who did the initial repair plan and seemed very professional and conscientious. However, he did not seem interested in the job. As a matter of fact he told me in so many words that he didn't want the job. He said he couldn't guarantee the results in any way. However, I still am considering working with him because of the way he is approaching the project.

From the very beginning, Randy, the Project Mgr. was very professional when he initially came over to give us a bid proposal. He answered all of our questions. After a number of bid proposals, and working with our structural engineer, we made the decision to go with Perma Jack. This was scheduled as an 8 day project and ended in 7 days. Glenn, the foreman, and his crew were present every day. They were courteous, professional, and Glenn was a great communicator. He and Randy took the time to explain the process and answer many questions along the way. It took 5 days to prepare the home for the day of the lift and leveling. Each day, they covered the dirt, made the home and surrounding areas safe, and cleaned up. Each day they were prompt and worked hard throughout the day. They took care to protect our home including putting up plastic sheeting to reduce the level of concrete dust in the home.
Description of Work: Perma Jack installed a total of 16 solid steel foundation piers...13 outside the home and 3 inside the home. A hole was dug in strategic locations around the home based on our structural engineer's foundation plan. They used a hydraulic machine to drive the steel piers into the ground until they hit solid rock. In our case about 15 feet. After each pier was in place, they used a system that allowed them to lift the house and level it in certain areas until the house was stable. They filled each hollow steel pier with concrete after locking them in place. They replaced every bit of dirt they took out by jack hammering and compressing the dirt back into the holes. Amazing they could do this. They did an extensive clean up job. They also re-poured concrete including the aggregrate stone in our patio. They removed all debris including any landscaping that could not be salvaged.

I choose them because we used an independent engineer to survey what was wrong with the foundation. He came up with a sati specifications and Perma Jack was the one that had been experiencing numerous steel piers. They also coordinated with the engineer just in case there was any change from the point on which the engineer drew up. They said that they already discussed about the steel piers with the engineer. I don’t have to worry about something that was done and then find out later that the foundation is not going to get certified. I was happy with the amount of co-ordination and co-operating they had with the engineer. It was a complicated thing, but they did a good job and the actual lift of the foundation made a dramatic improvement to the house. I recently had some windows replaced and was concerned about them being jarred or broken because sometimes that happens when you have the foundation lifted. I thought that their prices with a little on the higher side, but for the work that was done I feel that the price was fair. The project took 2 weeks and the crew was here everyday.
Description of Work: We used Perma Jack and they lifted and leveled the foundation.
