Perera's Metal Works

We had a break-in at our small business; vandals ripped the burglar bars out of the brick wall of our building's porch and smashed the glass front door. Another provider, who had furnished window guards for our residence, came through with a quick replacement and reinforcement of the existing bars, but when we contacted him repeatedly about additional window guards and burglar bars for an existing metal door, he never kept appointments. In desperation, I asked for suggestions on Facebook. Two different friends recommended Mike Perera. I called him on a Friday and told him that we were looking for window guards and burglar bars for the metal door. The first thing he did was suggest a locking steel bar for the door instead, which would save us about $300. He also suggested a more secure type of lock for the bar. We wanted to get the work done as quickly as possible, so we made an appointment for the next day. He came out on Saturday morning and gave us an estimate that was competitive with others we had gotten, so after a consultation with my business partner, I called and gave him the go-ahead. He came out Monday to sign the contract, get a deposit for materials, and re-measure.
Our burglar bars and door bar were finished and installed by Wednesday afternoon. They look great, and we feel much more secure.
Mike and his crew are true professionals. He kept appointments and always called beforehand to let me know he was on his way. The job was finished when he said it would be. Metal work is not cheap, but they did a great job at a reasonable price. They cleaned up afterward and put back into place all the furniture and fixtures on the front porch.
We couldn't be happier with the results. We will be calling him for more work and won't hesitate to recommend him. (He also does some amazing barbecue grills and smokers.)
