In retrospect, I would locate a vendor that provides one-stop shopping; e.g., had to arrange separately for electrical work. Vendor also out sourced masonry work.
They came out two weeks later to stain, which was such a nice touch. We paid for the stain, but they applied it. They stain application was not the best, but I still prefer it over having to do it myself.
I had previously used Paradise for a massive two-story deck project in 2008 at my previous home and was also completely satisfied with their work. So I didn't hesitate to hire them again.
drew out the deck of our dreams. It was a two level deck with a handicap ramp
for my brother that is special needs. The deck wraps around my pool as well
with it on privacy fence. Corey Byron did all of the carpentry. The sale person
failed to make adjustments for the ramp based on elevation and grade. They tried
to charge me more after the fact for the new ramp design. The redesign was
because of their error. Close to completion the sales person came to our house
to inspect. He then proceeded to talk
down to my wife about all of the extra work they had to do. We did not ask for anything more than what
was on the contract. He made his point
that we got a good deal and that we shouldn’t question any of the additional
charges that were not on the contract.
Ultimately Mike the construction manager
got involved and made it all right. There
were no additional charges added and we paid exactly what the contract has said
we would pay. Big thanks to Mike and
Paradise Decks for staying true to their word.
That means a lot these days. I
have the Deck of my dreams and now my whole family can enjoy it for many years
to come.
Also I want to Thank Corey Byron of
Driftwood Construction. He is a master
of building!
We have an unusual shaped and large deck and we wanted to add a shingled roof that would conform with our HOA rules. We had Kent Lain come to our home and we discussed design, price, warranty and in general all the positive reasons that we should go with Paradise Decks. This was the 4th company/personal busiess bid that we received on the project. Kent Lain was very informative and made us feel that Paradise Decks was our best choice based on a combination of quality, design, length of time the company had been in business, warranty and price. We had a couple of concerns the first couple of days the project started, our concerns were immediately recognized and taken care of. Kent Lain was great...he immediately came to our home to see and discuss...followed up by project manager and the project manager, Jaimie called as well. All was discussed and taken care of to our complete satisfaction. We did have an independent lumber delivery that did not follow the Paradise Deck company rules and damaged a corner of our driveway, but Paradise Decks immediately had a representative from that company out and an insurance claim from the company is in place to take care of that. Overall...Paradise Decks did an outstanding job on our roof. It turned out absolutely gorgeous, solid and the local inspector even commented to that effect! Paradise Decks even had a project manager named Patrick come at the end to inspect it himself and make sure I was satisfied...and he truly gave me the feeling that my complete 100% satisifaction was #1...Thank you Patrick! I would definitely call them if I ever had additional work to be done! By the way...this would not be a complete review without noting that Robin in Paradise Decks office was so very nice to work with. Angel the construction man on my project and his son were really talented and very nice! Chad and Craig and their stain helper did a fantastic job on staining the entire underside of the roof to match my deck as required by the HOA. So there you go...a review so well earned! How often do you hire a company that you know everyone on a first name basis? Thanks Paradise Decks...I'm really going to enjoy it!
