Pan Am Automotive

We were spoiled in San Antonio.  We had a great place down there, the best we've ever had.  The one down in San Antonio, I mean we got service like you would not believe.  They were only like a block and a half from our house.  They'd come and pick up the car and drive it to the place, fix it, and bring it back because we were so close and we knew them.  We had two old cars; they knew us real well.  They would just say, when you're out come by and pay when you have a chance.  They did terrific work.  They were the nicest people.  We still try and see them when we go down there because they were so nice.  We used them for eleven years and they were just absolutely the best.  And you know they're good when the same crew was there the whole eleven years.  Everybody liked working for them.  It's not a huge garage; they only have like four bays.  They were reasonable and they were absolutely the nicest people.  I would give them an A on everything.  If we were still in the San Antonio area, we would definitely still use them.  They're now friends because we were in there a lot.  They went above and beyond.  My car conked out and I called them, and they were just closing.  The owner came and got me, pulled my car to his facility even though they were technically closed.  I mean, they just went above and beyond on all sorts of things.  They heard I was going on a road trip and insisted I come over and have my car checked out before I hit the road.  I didn't think of it.  When they heard, they insisted.  They were just great.  They were fantastic. 

Didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. Very trustworthy.

I recently went to Pan AM Automotive and met Jay. I needed a compressor for my A/C installed and filled. He had everything done within 3 hours and the A/C worked Great! I was expecting a large bill but the entire job only cost me well under $200.00! Wow. I will 100% be going back to Jay for future work.

Pan Am Auto has worked on several of my families vehicles. Everything from oil changes -tune ups to installing a used engine in my old Ford Ranger, always excellent service at a great price. A great neighborhood mechanic shop that I would drive across town to use in the future.

 Jay is so very friendly.  I am new to San Antonio and needed serious work done on my vehicle. The wheel bearings were shot and my car was rumbling, unstable and overall unsafe.  I got the estimate and decided to get 3 other prices at 3 different shops. All were at least $100 higher than Pan Am. None were as patient in explaining the job.    Pan Am is truly the best. They are honest, reasonable and timely.  My cars will go no where else....ever!

No complaints. Good work. Good price. No effort to generate jobs for themselves.

I don't remember anything negative about my experience, so it was okay.

It has taken me 10 years to finally find an auto shop and mechanics that treat me fairly, honestly without trying to reach into my back pocket to clean out my wallet to pay for car repairs. Pan Am Automotive and their manager Jay not only treat you like you would want to be treated and charge you a fair, reasonable price but they stand by their work 100%. I recently had some work done by them and several weeks later had the same problem again. Not only did they acknowledge that it was the same problem but they came and got the car, repaired it and backed it up 100%. That is hard to find these days even with some of the better known auto repair shops in San Antonio. I have recommended Pan Am Auto Repair to my friends, family and co workers as well as highly recommending Pan Am Auto Repair to anyone else. It?s hard to find someone with old fashion integrity like them anymore.

I have used PanAm since I moved to San Antonio 4 years ago. Jay is always friendly, smiling, good natured and welcoming. But more importantly, as a single woman, I feel that he is always honest and truthful, and very fair. My car is 16 years old, and it runs perfectly. He will go the extra mile to help folks out....and although not part of the job, will help customers to the point that he's delivered the car to my house because I was unable to come pick it up! It's not part of his "normal" range of services, but if you need a little extra help somewhere, it's likely he'll come through. I know he is especially kind with elders. I've seen how he treats them. Above and beyond. You can find anyone to do good work on your car. But that human touch is singular and I find that Jay makes the auto-mechanic-experience a pleasure, not a pain. In so far as repairs; About a year ago I had an ignition switch problem. My car is older and Jay knew that this piece would be available only from the manufacturer. Knowing that the car was old, and I was financially strapped, he offered a much less expensive solution. It was my choice to go with "factory built parts" or a creative, workable solution. I admit I chose to maintain the integrity of the car and go for the factory built part, but the fact that he was able to offer a different, more economic solution, was something I truly appreciated. He has my back. Wow!

He did the job quickly and cleanly. I feel much better and am extremely happy. I found someone I can finally trust in the mechanic world. He is polite and respectful and I would recommend him.
