OG Excavating & Landscaping

Back in October, I helped my friend, a senior with a disability, look for a company to install a French drain in her yard. I was with her through an interview process with two landscape companies and we both agreed that OG Excavating and Landscaping would do the best job for her. She had previously had a drain installed in her backyard by a handyman which did not work. The problem my friend was experiencing was during a rainstorm, water would run down her backyard (which was sloped) and onto her patio then level off right at the entrance to her home via a sliding glass door. She was frightened that the water would come into her home and with her limited mobility, she feared the worst. Mario, who was the supervisor on the job, explained that the previous drain was not deep enough and they needed to dig deeper in order for the water to drain properly. He worked with his crew and completed the drain. There were no issues with the work and Mario was wonderful to work with; however, after the first rain (shortly after the drain was installed), my friend experienced the same problem with the water threatening to enter her home. I phoned Mario the next morning and he went to my friend's home. He explained that the rain was just too heavy and that the water would eventually drain. He recommended adding another drain box but that was never done. He also recommended that my friendâ s neighbor get gutters, as a lot of water was coming off her roof and flowing onto my friend's patio. That was never mentioned when we were told a â properâ French drain would fix her water problem. The second rain came in late January and the water once again was slapping at my friend's doorway. This time she called Mario to find he had been terminated by the company. She was referred to Ruben. Ruben went out to my friend's home and said there was nothing wrong with the drain, that it was working properly. It took 12 hours for the water to completely drain off my friend's patio. I personally donâ t consider that fixing a drainage problem! He suggested putting another kind of drain in front of the patio to help with the water drainage but when asked if this was at his company's expense or hers, there was no response. And thereâ s been no response since that time. My friend and I are extremely dissatisfied with O G Excavating and Landscaping. I personally feel like it is elder abuse for this company to leave my friend in this situation. We chose this company because of all the wonderful ratings, but after our experience I would rate them a 0 when it comes to customer satisfaction. We have purchased sandbags to put in front of the door way but these bags make it impossible for her to get out of her back door, as her immobility keeps her from stepping over the bags. God forbid there ever be a fire in her home. She cannot even get out on her patio to enjoy some outdoor time when the bags are in place. She paid close to $10,000 between installing the two drains and nothing has made a difference with her drainage problem. This has nothing to do with the drain problem, but when tying my friendâ s gutter spout into that French drain, they pulled up some river rock and left bare dirt on the side of her home. Mario told her not to worry that he would get her some rock to replace it. That never happened and when I told Ruben about it after Mario was terminated, he chose to do nothing as well. Again, another reason I feel this company has left my elderly friend high and dry, I mean WET! This is not a company I would recommend to anyone who expects to receive any kind of customer service!

Mario did a great job with my deck. Itâ s a large deck, but he did a great job with it. He didnâ t take any shortcuts. He made sure I was satisfied with how he built my deck up.

I needed landscaping done in the front, so we called OG Excavating & Landscaping and the work is phenomenal !! Ruben took the time to make sure he understood my vision and that his ideas were cost-effective. The results came out amazing! Highly recommend.
