"[Member Name Removed], we had so much fun working on your project! Thank you so much for your kind words and appreciation."
The concrete pour was terrible, I give it a D-. They did not put a drip ledge on approach and now every time it rains all the garage doors leak water inside. The garage floor has huge dips in it and looks bad, plus it doesn't drain and holds water. I painted it to cover it up and it just brought it out more.
The work on the exterior was Ok, they installed Hardy Blank and their subs did a good job, I give them a C on this work. The paint job was good, a solid B. The framing and construction subs, did a good job.
Besides the concrete, I have 3 other big problems with KM's work.
1.The Portico/breezeway where it ties into the house leaks. I give him a D- on this work.
They used 4x6 treated and covered them with hardy blank, it looks cheap and in the future, I plan on wrapping them with cedar. The biggest problem is the breezeway tie-in with the house, it leaks. The leak caused by KM’s poor workmanship at the tie-in of the roof of my home and breezeway has caused the soffit, fascia board on my home to rot out and it needs to be fixed. In spite of our efforts for the last 4 months to get KM and Keith Moehle, the owner to fulfill on their warranty for workmanship he has refused. Note: They issued and I have a 5 year workmanship warranty. When I had him come out to look at the warranty work on the portico/breezeway he said, “let me do the new roof and I will fix it (the leak and problem) when we do the roof”. See here in San Antonio, we had a big hail storm roll through and it messed up the roof and my insurance company is paying for a new one. The warranty work is a separate issue and frankly I do not want this man or his workers near my house again. Keith Moehle stated to me and then put in an email that “the Hail voided the warranty”, but these problems started way before the Hail Storm and he knows it. I filed a claim with Travelers to access the soffit and fascia damage and they said “it is obvious to anyone that does this for a living that the hail had nothing to do with this leak”, thus they denied the claim.
2. The electrical system
They had to run a new hot lead and they just tied it in at the meter and never secured it per code. Now I have this big gray wire sticking out of my electrical meter, jammed into the attic and it is all wrong.
3. He is a strong arm salesman. I really believed in this man and his company. But a nice smile and smooth sales technique is not enough to hide the fact that he doesn't care about his customers.
Had he fixed the portico leak and honored his warranty. I probably would not have reported him to the Better Business Bureau and the Consumer Protection Agency. Problems happen with construction, in spite of the contractors effort, like leaks. But don't strong arm customers and then expect them to love you or give you a pass.

"We feel that we can always improve in our service to our customers. This was a very complicated project with some unique features and processes. We patiently waited for the homeowner to make design decisions that would affect the course of our work. We did make sure that every concern of the homeowner was addressed every day when the Project Manager would make his daily visit and thorough inspection of the project. Unfortunately we did not realize that the homeowner expected to have our Project Manager on site all day long. It appeared that the homeowner expected him to watch our employees every moment that work was being performed. I mentioned to him that if he saw something that concerned him to rest assured that it did not mean we missed it, even if he told us about it before we saw it. Money was always an issue, for some reason, in spite of the fact that all the draws were small and spaced out as work was completed and that they were all prearranged in the terms of the contract. I have had several conversations with the homeowner during the project to ensure nothing was neglected. I reached out to the homeowner after the completion of the project. Every concern was addressed and he had indicated that he was thoroughly satisfied, with the exception of the price. Keith Moehle KM BUILDERS"
We attended a tour of remodeled homes in 2011 and asked two participating companies for design ideas and estimates. KM Builders had many great ideas and we chose them to do the work. They came up with a great design and with a few changes we asked for, began the actual remodeling work in March 2012. They gutted and remodeled kitchen and added a custom hutch in the breakfast room as well as a skylight. A wall between the kitchen and living room was removed and a new support beam installed. New tile floors were installed in the kitchen, breakfast room, hallway and entry. The kitchen ceiling was remodeled into a tray ceiling with a skylight, stained crown moulding and led lighting. They installed new gas lines so we could have a gas cooktop, reworked the plumbing, installed new fixtures, appliances, countertops, custom cabinets with led lighting, granite countertops,& tile backsplash. They also repainted the kitchen, breakfast room and scraped the popcorn ceiling in the living room and repainted it. They removed 4 half walls with spindles from the kitchen and dining room. In other words, they transformed our outdated 80"s kitchen and made it into a showpiece. We are extremely happy with the remodel. The cabinets were custom made by a great company here in San Antonio and they are beautiful as well as very functional.
