First of all, Thank you Mr Buck for being so incredibly helpful with our home inspection on Thursday. Secondly, thank you for scheduling us at the very last minute. That meant a lot considering our 5 day option period. Your report was very thorough and incredibly organized. Your findings helped us make a well-informed decision on whether to purchase the home. We confidently terminated the contract knowing that the home needed FAR more repairs than we could manage. Although I have to admit, I had fallen deeply in love with the massive landscaped backyard and ornate fireplace! Lol! Oh and thank for your advice on our Disclosure documents. We did ask Mary about the lack of inspection report from the sellers- turns out they DIDN'T have an inspection done prior to THEIR purchase! That further confirmed our need to move on. We did not need someone else's problems. We will continue to look in the Glenview Oaks and Rolling Ridge area and we will Definitely keep you in mind for any future inspection. See you again soon!!

Well worth the money as the builder wouldn't of done it! 

They provided me a report with the condition of the home. Fred came out and did the inspection. I have investment properties. Fred was far superior to all other inspectors who I have worked with. He spent an extended period of time with me. Was very patient. Fred had the most recent software for his reporting. It was well put together. Easy to read. I received the report quickly. The quality of the report was very high. The narrative was thorough. Where there were problems, they were explained in great detail. He saved me a lot of money on this home. I was able to use Fred's report to negotiate a new roof with the owner. Fred was very professional and his prices were better than any other I have seen, not to mention his report was far superior!

Fred Buck was very thorough and detailed in his report and verbal feedback. He took the time to talk through some of the things he saw and was happy to answer questions. I have used him twice and been very pleased both times.

This was our first home purchase so we had no other home inspector to compare Mr. King with, but we feel that the inspection went very well.  First and far most he was available on short notice.  I spoke with him on a Tuesday and he was able to fit us in before his first scheduled appointment on Wednesday.  Second, He identified areas that needed attention, that would have gone unrecognized by us and that is truly what counted.  Being that it was a new build one would think that everything with the home would be completely up to standard but it wasn't and Mr. King was able to help us right some wrongs.  We would count on him in the future if we found ourselves in the market for another home purchase.  Gob Well Done!!!

 

I started communication with Mr. Buck, back on Feb 8, 2013.  He was very professional and courteous.  He asked me for a copy of the builder's guidelines.  His concerns for me, was I allowed to have an inspection.  Any other person would just come out charge you and leave you a report.  He confirmed inspections were allowed.  He quoted his prices at the time: Phase I foundation: $120, Phase II framing: $220, Phase III Final: $270, and any additional inspections are available at $60 to $90 per trip.
 
He reviewed the documents, provided me insight on the building process; all of this at no cost to me.    I finally asked Mr. Buck to come out and inspect the first phase of the construction 18 Mar 2013.  He did a great job of walking me through the site and pointing out problem areas.
 
Mr. Buck provided me the write-up of the findings, which I forwarded to the builder and they corrected.
 
Mr. Buck will definitely be part of Phase II and Phase III.  I highly recommend him too.

We came very close to buying a home in August. I called Fred Buck and set up a time for an inspection. He went over all that I could expect to happen with the home inspection in a very detailed manner on my initial call. We ended up changing our mind and I had to call Fred back and cancel. He again spent a considerable amount of time on the phone with me, reassuring me that halting the sale was the best thing to do if we were not sure, and let me know he would be available if and when we needed a home inspection. He was informative, friendly, and so helpful, and he never got a dime from me. I can assure you we will use him when we do find "our" home, and I will tell anyone that I know needing the same service my praises of Fred.

I have hired Fred Buck three times to inspect historic homes we were interested in buying. He helped us realize that one house -- with rotting wood windows that had been disguised and a make-shift electrical system -- would be way too expensive to retrofit. He helped us to realize that another house had an addition that had been improperly installed with concrete foundation, when the rest of the house was pier and beam, and that it would be a constant problem of a house shifting and hurting itself on the different types of foundation. With our current house, he helped us learn about the various issues that needed repair. But, by that time, we were ready just to buy a house and get it over with. So, in this case, with his detailed report, we were able to negotiate a lower selling price to factor the needed repairs. Fred is very knowledgeable and earnest. He is a professional. Not only does he do a great job, he keeps working to learn how to do his job better. He is active in his field to improve building inspection standards and upgrade engineering requirements for new houses. A good guy that I give high marks to. Like he said, the real estate agents working for sellers don't like seeing him on the job, but when they are buying houses for themselves, they hire him to do a thorough inspection.

The first house was beautiful and my wife and I were very excited about the prospects of buying it. Fred found a huge number of issues with the house and saved us from buying a house that would have been a nightmare once we moved in. I was sold on him after that and we used him for our second inspection. While he still found several issues, he pointed out that many of those were much smaller than the previous house. I have not found any issues with the house that I was not warned about by Fred during his inspection. He also left the inspection report with me and allowed me to fax it to him the next day. This allowed me to meet with my agent and create an offer based on the inspection report that night. He was referred by a friend who met him in a class he taught on home inspection.

They worked with my schedule to make sure that I would be able to be there while the house was being inspected. Fred Buck, the inspector, was very professional and thorough. He spent more than two hours with us looking at the brand new 2285 sq ft. house in great detail. He explained everything he was doing, and answered any questions we had at any point honestly and would even give his recommendation to resolve any issues. He even went as far as to give us his opinion on cosmetic issues. He provided us with a written report right when he was finished, allowing us to fax him a copy so we could have the report right then and get the home builder working on it ASAP. Overall I was extremely satisfied, and with his report and recommendations. I was able to get the home builder to correct everything.
