The suit and slacks fit well after alteration, but I had requested dry cleaning and pressing. When I picked up my items they were wrinkled, had bits of thread all over them and were not in a suit baggy. It was as if they were hemmed, thrown back on the floor and then picked up, put on a hanger and handed to me. This was the third strike for Mrs Kims after using them for ~20 years of exceptional service. Perhaps they have just grown too big to keep up with the quality alterations that were once done here. I am searching for a new tailor.

I have used Kim's Alterations a great number of times over the years. They are awesome at what they do; anything from a simple hemming of pants to a full military dress uniform alteration and fitting (which includes placement of ribbons arc., etc). Exceptional service. Absolutely love this place, they are the best!!!

After cleaning the spots were still present and did not look as if anything special was done to remove them. I had used this business because of the high overall evaluations in Angie's List, driving much further than I normally would have done. Was not impressed. Don't remember how much I spent.

I have a day dress that always bugged me because the waistline was a mite low and sat in an unflattering spot; it also had a sash that was sewn into the side seam. I can sew, but the knit fabric and the ruched detailing made me hesitate to tackle the alteration myself. I took it to Kim's and was quoted a price of $35 with a week lead time. I wish I remembered the tailor's name, because she did a great job--the dress was ready when she said it would be and fit on the first try.
My experience has been less satisfactory with their cleaning, unfortunately--my military uniforms were done properly and in a timely manner, though the day I picked them up, they had a young trainee there who didn't realize Navy uniforms aren't all white crackerjacks and told me they didn't have my uniform--fortunately the owner came to the rescue and located the pressed, cleaned aquaflage so no harm no foul.
Less successful though was a grey cashmere scarf I dropped off asking specifically that it be cleaned with water and not chemicals. When I got it back, there were two big brown mystery stains that looked like someone had used the scarf to mop up spilled coffee, and it didn't smell as if it had been cleaned at all. I returned it and the owner was very apologetic and said he would clean it himself. I got it back a week later, and though the appearance of the stains was diminished, they were still visible and now permanent, so the scarf, one of my favorites, is pretty much ruined.
In summary, I would definitely return for their tailoring and cautiously, for military uniforms cleaned, but I would probably take my higher end garments elsewhere, so I give them a B overall.

This is a neat kind of place right outside of Fort Sam Houston. Recommendation to use this establishment came from high ranking military official. When you arrive at the location, you see a wall of pictures of old Generals thanking the proprietor. MANY of the uniformed personnel at Fort Sam Houston use this place for uniform alterations and shaped and shaved berets. Pete, the man working the counter, was especially courteous and helpful. A tidy place run by people who understand what keeps you coming back. Obviously catered to the military, but handled my civilian attire with concern and aplomb.
