HAPPY HOUND MOBILE GROOMING

Horrible experience with deceptive business practices in which we were quoted one price and then told "sorry for the misunderstanding" and had to pay more. After communicating through our neighborhood association, I found two other people who have stopped using Happy Hound Grooming for the same reason. Overpriced and dishonest. Stay away.

The girl whose name I didn't catch complained the whole time about the dogs hair matting which I had just brushed yesterday and taken out most of the mats so I told her if she finds any to just cut them out. This would be the 3rd time having them and the price jumped the 2nd time and today jumped dramatically. She stated due to the matting which I knew wasn't true cause I had already brushed him well yesterday. The price was a whopping $256.00 for summer hair cuts. Needless to say I won't be using them again.

They came out on October 11th, 2016 We paid $194 to have them done. We didn't notice right away that the cuts were uneven on both dogs. We have reached out multiple times to the company giving them a chance to fix the problem but after speaking to different people on different days all we get is run a round and no commitment to fix the problem. Like other reviews on this company I would highly recommend staying away from them as they aren't responsive to fixing problems.

went to website to request a quote and heard back within a couple days.  Made an appointment the following week with Happy Hound calling us the day before to give us a specific time available.  My husband was ranting on how our 6-year old looked like a puppy again after her grooming.  It took a little longer for our 13-year old as he gets tired of standing too long and his coat was thicker but they both looked and smelled great.  Nice trim on all the excess hair including in-between the toes and a nail trim and both are sporting their bandanas.  Such a convenience.

I am so pleased! I made an appointment to have my 12 year old poodle groomed. My dog has cataracts and is deaf so I wanted someone to come to my home so there would be less anxiety for my little poodle. I had to make the appointment about 10 days ahead, but it was so worth the wait. Happy hound said they would call the day before to confirm the day and time. They did call the day before and there was a slight mixup in the time, but it was straightened out. The next day the groomer was running early and called to ask if she could come about an hour earlier. That was fine with me and so the groomer arrived very shortly. The groomer was so gentle and unassuming that my very nervous poodle soon relaxed. I have to say my dog never looked better! Seriously, she looks great! And, looking better than she ever did in about an hour, without me having to go out with her and than go pick her up. It was a great experience all around. The groomer came in while I wrote out a payment and when she left my little dog kept going to the door. I really think she was looking for the groomer, she actually seemed to miss her! I would absolutely call Happy Hound again and I know if my dog could talk she would thank me!

Shame on Happy Hound...  wouldn't take my dog because he has a disability....he gotten stressed from being at a groomer..
Asked for an estimate - because my dog has a disability and is on medication - they decided he was a "liability".  They didn't even come over and look or meet him.  Told me to have my vet groom him.  Since when does a vet groom dogs?
That's why I wanted a mobile groomer - because he has been stressed... Wow Happy Hound... thanks for the love.

They where late twice they have given me dates they would come and said they forgot and I had to get another appointment. I will still use them cause I cant find a half way descant groomer in San Antonio that comes to your home.

I chose to try this groomer with the good reviews they had received in angie's list, especially with us new to the area. Brownie (our 88lb lab/mix) doesn't like the groomers where you drop them off as they are crated, and she doesn't do well crated. Theresa (sp?) was so wonderful with Brownie. She introduced herself to Brownie and loved on her then took her to the van - of course she advised the services and cost breakdown to be sure all was acceptable to me. When finished, Brownie just came on in and Theresa told me what was going on. Brownie didn't mind the van - she jumped in unprompted and got out when time and she didn't seem jittery or scared. I will certainly be using this group next go round.

They always show up on time, and do a great job. My dog looks great and smells good. The people are pleasant and courteous. They're accomodating if I want extra things done, and I can always get on their schedule within a few days of calling. It's so convenient and less stress on my dog!

Great service. No isssues or complaints

I had to wait a few days for service due to the fact that I live north of the San Antonio area. Janette was the groomer who showed up, on time, to groom my dogs. I have one large lab and a smaller lab mix. I also asked her to give them their summer coat trim. I couldn't stand the shedding. Janette did a great job! My puppies where groomed exactly as requested with a few nice details that Happy Hounds provide. My lab mix HATES bathes but seemed comfortable with Janette. She was great with both dogs. She also clipped my Chorkie's nails for a really reasonable price. She was caring with my dogs, using the file with my lab's nails because he is afraid of the nail clippers and added an oatmeal bath for his sensitive skin. I was extremely pleased with the grooming and will be using Happy Hounds and Janette's service again. It is nice not to have my car smell like stinky dog or have dog hair flying in around in the car for days because I had to transport them. I chose to just have the larger dogs groomed and bathed because I can handle the bathing the Chorkie on my own.

Came in a fully equipped vehicle to provide complete grooming services. I had two dogs groomed for about $55.00 for each dog. Very professional. Very convenient for me. Will definitely use again.

Everything was good. Phone calls/emails prompt and professional. Arrived on time. Job on both dogs well done, in a timely manner. Price comparable to pets place grooming....did add tip.

The groomer was punctual and friendly and did a great job with my golden and terrier. My only disappointment is if something goes wrong--like it looked like she forgot to sheer the terrier's ears--there is no recourse. I called the company back to see if I could arrange to meet their groomer at another scheduled site or schedule a return visit when they were in the area. The person I spoke to promised to return my call that afternoon--that was two weeks ago and no call has been received. I don't think I will use them again because I don't like empty promises.

We have been using Happy Hounds for over a year now for our Yorkies. Heather Baker is our groomer and she is awesome! Our dogs look amazing every time she grooms them. She is courteous and gentle! We just love this company and Heather!

The groomer was earlier than scheduled time which was very nice. She groomed my dog very well. When the dog got very agitated while the hair dryng process was started the groomer handled it like a champ. Our dog has a history of stress related seizures. The groomer was able to keep it from getting to that point. I will use this groomer in the future and I highly recommend. My only regret is that I didn't call this groomer first before the first mobile one on the list. Happy Hound actually answered the phone when I called to make an appointment and called to confirm a day before the appointment. The first groomer I called never bothered to answer the phone, respond to internet messages or phone messages. I gave them ample opportunity to return my call (4 to 5 days). Thank you very much for everything Happy Hound :)

We just moved here from Virginia. I have a 4 yr. Snoodle and a 2yr. Bichon. They are groomed every six weeks and had their last Virginia grooming in early June just before our move.
We have been very busy with repair work, unpacking etc. I received a flyer with an add for Happy Hound mobile grooming. Thinking this would be an easy way to get my two dogs groomed on a day we were having new carpet installed, I made an appointment.
The young lady arrived on time, I told her how I wanted my guys cut and 11/2 hrs. later they were finished. I have them in a short summer cut and because they were 6 weeks out from the previous grooming from Virginia , I asked her to follow the lines of the old cut. They both looked fine. Short is short!!!!!
The problems began that evening!
My Snoodle began to rub his butt, lick and run to us like there was something wrong.
The next day the behavior was worse. I could see what looked like a red wart on the area where he was neutered. Each day he was a little worse. He stopped eating, playing and it was clear he was hurt.
Today, July 25th, I took him to a vet. My poor baby had a blister on his anus and the red wart is also a blister. He gave me medication and said it should clear up within the next five days. He also said it was a good thing I brought him in because they would probably have infected and it would have been worse. He also noted that the and quot;red wartand quot; was the most sensitive and he was very much guarding it.
The grooming for both dogs was $140. total with a $10. off first time visit. The vet bill was $67.50. Frankly, I think $200. is highway robbery.
In any case, I called Happy Hound and spoke to Sadie and told her pretty much what I have written. She was very nice and very concerned and said she was calling the owner to tell her and she would be calling me shortly.
Anne Flyckt, did call and I explained what happened.
Her response was to say that sometimes the dogs skin is more sensitive then other dogs and it gets razor burned. She was sorry but there was nothing they could do. I responded with he does not have razor burn but blisters!!
She could not imagine how a dog could get blisters on his anus or on his belly from grooming.
At this point, I realized I was not only talking to a very young person but to someone who had very little knowledge of the dog grooming business and what an irresponsible groomer can do or even a responsible groomer having a mishap.
At no time did I ask for my money back or the vet bill be paid. What I heard from the owner was denial that any of it could have happened while he was being groomed.
Clearly my dog has had a very traumatic experience and I would absolutely not use them again.
To conclude this, I want to say ,had this happened to the Bischon, I probably would have chalked it up to him wiggling.He is two years old and still has a lot of puppy in him.
The Snoodle, however, was groomed for four years by a groomer who had been grooming for over 30 years.
She often told me he was the best dog she had ever groomed in her entire career. Because, I know how good he is, I am very confident this is carelessness on the groomers part.

I would give them "A's" all around. I will use them again.

They did a good job overall and there is certainly a convenience factor, but I felt the prices were high for the quality of the job. The only reason I would not reuse Happy Hound is the cost.

We like the fact they came to our house for our dog. My wife is very happy with it. They did a nice job of grooming. The experience was excellent. They are expensive because they come to the house.

I initially contacted them via e-mail and they responded very quickly with a follow-up e-mail. We discussed services and possible dates and a quote was promptly provided. (I really appreciate the fact that they use email which I much prefer over telephone.) We scheduled a date and they kept me well informed as the groomer was making her way to my home. She arrived in their mobile pet grooming vehicle and took time to meet my dog and discuss with me what I wanted, asked about types of shampoo, any special requests or concerns, etc. then took my dog into the van and did all of the work there. She then rang my doorbell about an hour later when she was finished. My dog was expertly groomed and looked great. I was very happy with the entire process, all of the people I dealt with and the way they treated my dog. I am very satisfied and will be using them on a regular basis.
