 + -1 moreWhen we spoke with the service rep at the main number, she could not do anything about it and could not even look up the information because it was in my dead husbands name. She ended up hanging up on me. When I took it to the manager of the gym on Prue Road, she could not tell me for certain that they would remove the February charge or that I would not incur new charges. I plan on reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.
Description of Work: My husband and I acquired gym membership for free under the Silver Sneaker program with Medicare several years ago with The Spectrum on Prue Road. We added our two children to the account for $40, first addition and $35 2nd addition. Gold's Gym took over and changed our status without notification or approval to a family plan without Karl under Silver Sneakers. In December, we took our last outing together as a family and went in person to cancel our charges for the two children. They got together 3 service reps to confirm the paperwork and we signed the documents. The made all three of the members of my family which are disabled come in to the facility. All three service reps promised that we would not be charged in February because we had given 30 days notice in writing. February 10, my husband of 20 years passed away. February 3rd, they charged our account.

 + -1 moreI wish I would have quit Ballys long ago (before it even converted to Blast). The Gold's experience has been great. The gym is always clean (never the case at Blast), it has unlimited towel service, it has multiples of most weight equipment and it has a variety of training items for use (e.g. mats, jump ropes, bosu, medicine balls, etc.).
Description of Work: Joined Gold's Gym in February after 10 years of being with Bally's (now Blast in San Antonio).

 + -1 moreI was very pleased when it was run by Spectrum. It seems as though the quality has declined a bit since being taken over by Gold's Gym...however it is still a fairly good workout facility. I wish that there was more variety in the classes and the times that they are offered.
Description of Work: I hav been a member of Spectrum/Gold's Gym for several years. I have taken classes (paid and free) at the gym.

 + -1 moreThis gum is not upscale, but it's pretty good. It's an older facility. For me it's close to work, and I get a discount. They are always friendly, courteous, and professional. They greet you when you come in, and answer your questions. They are always good about customer service.
Description of Work: I use Gold's Gym San Antonio for fitness services. I was there last weekend.
