We've been holding off replacing our HVAC unit for several years due to the associated costs and wanting to make sure we found a competent HVAC company. Well I can tell you that we struck gold with General Air Conditioning. Throughout the process we got excellent service in determining exactly what we needed based on our house and a/c use. Every step of the planning process was clearly explained and all my questions were answered. For such a big purchase, I felt really reassured that I picked the right system and company to work with. The install process was just as impressive. The technicians were very professional and worked diligently to make sure everything was installed correctly. They also kept me informed throughout the installation to help me better understand the ends and outs of my system. After two months with the new HVAC unit, I am very impressed with its performance and the service provided by General Air Conditioning.

My interaction with this contractor started with a pleasant surprise. Tim provided me with a printed brochure containing the company’s background and alternative configurations for the new unit. I was able to review the specifications for each option so I could ask appropriate questions, before making my decision. So I knew I was getting a Trane just as I had before. Not just any 2.5 ton unit. A Trane unit is a Trane! RunTrue by Trane is NOT an equivalent product. The company did not try to sell me items that I had before this saving me money. I’m grateful for that flexibility in their pricing. The installers were true professionals. It took many more hours than I expected for the job to be completed, as they paid attention to detail. The job is more than just an installed unit; the finish should be professional. The old drain pan was cleaned, new plywood base installed. Tim’s staff did an excellent job and obviously enjoyed their job. Kudos to the female lead installer. Girl power! I’m glad I chose this company and look forward to going business with them in the future.

Staff was AWESOME and kept us informed of all steps they were taking to give us the best possible and efficient use of our new system!! They were extremely knowledgeable, helpful and concerned about neatness and picking up all excess materials. They finished this big job in one and a half days!!! In the summer heat of Texas during 4th of July weekend, my A/C stopped working at about 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, 7/2. This is a weekend expected to reach the triple digits. The fan was blowing but the air wasn't cold, and the temperature kept climbing. I called the Home Warranty company but after spending 45 minutes waiting or on the phone, I realized there was a good chance that no one would call or come the next day. By 6:45 a.m. on Sunday morning, I realized that the fan outside wasn't working because the a/c circuit tripped, and the reason the circuit tripped is because the capacitor had blown, which is a $20 dollar part that helps regulate the outside fan and compressor. The problem is that unless you order it in advance online or know someone who works in the A/C business, there's a small chance you'll find it on a weekend, and even then there's no guarantee that replacing the capacitor will solve your problem. So, I called General Air Conditioning at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday morning. Tim Bruce answered himself, and he was polite. After telling him what I thought happened, he told me to keep the system off to prevent further damage. He said he'd arrive 10 minutes from 11. He arrived instead 20 minutes early at 10:30 a.m. He replaced the capacitor, checked the amperage, and checked the Freon. He was in and out within the hour. For an extra 24 dollars (in addition to the approximate cost below), I signed up for 2 6-month follow ups. He recommended that the system be replaced, which I already knew, because the system is 12-14 years old, but the recommendation didn't come with a sales pitch. This is the peak season, during a non-business service hour, during a holiday weekend, and Tim made it happen on a Sunday morning. This makes the price reasonable (although still painful) in my mind, especially given the circumstances and the impact of not having A/C in Texas. The good Lord provides, especially in our hour of desperation, and I'm thankful that He did so through General Air Conditioning.

This was our second time working with General Air Conditioning. We were extremely impressed with their competitive prices (we got an estimate from one other company and General Air Conditioning beat that company by $5,000), their professionalism, and the service they delivered. We highly recommend them for all of your AC and heating needs.

Tim came exactly when he said he would with an assistant. They measured thoroughly including all windows and ceilings before confirming we needed the same size unit that we had previously. He gave us several proposals of various efficiency units including the rebates available on each. I especially appreciated his not trying to sell us more than we needed and worked on arriving at the "sweet spot" considering price, efficiency, and rebates. We called him that evening with our decision and he came the next morning (Sunday) with a contract and we gave him a check for half down. Our daughter had him install her unit and was extremely pleased. We scheduled the installation for that week. They took great pains to do everything just right. The installers were very professional and came when they said they would, worked hard, and worked late. They found some things that required extra work and materials (no extra charges) and it ended up taking 3 of them 2 full days to complete the work. Before leaving, they worked with me to set the schedule on the unit the way we wanted and made sure I knew how to adjust it. When they left everything was cleaned up beautifully. The balance was due after the work was completely finished.

They did Great! They were the only company that did every test they were supposed to do, he even offered to replace it for free if the filter sizes were wrong. The company continues to follow up with me even months after the service.

Out of all my bids to replace my dampers and some duct work, General Air Conditioning was the only one who called back to follow up with me on my needs. Being a small business women myself, I greatly appreciate and respect this quality in customer service. General Air Conditioning has a great response from Angies List which also gave me the confidence to utilize his service. General Air Conditioning is very professional and took great care of all my requests. The price was very fair compared to the other bids and he completed the whole job in one day. I highly recommend General Air Conditioning for any of your home air conditioning/heating needs.

General Air Conditioning replaced our entire unit a couple of years ago and we were very pleased with their work and professionalism. They always called before their appt to let us know they were on their way and they were always on time for their appointments. The technicians that installed the unit were very polite, knowledgeable and left the area where they worked spotless when they left everyday. We were given very detailed instructions on our unit as well as the maintenance needed to keep the unit running efficiently upon completion of the project. Everyone we dealt with from the owner to the receptionist to the technicians were always friendly, courteous and efficient. Today they did maintenance and filter replacement on the unit and the service was done in the same professional way as I have come to expect from them. I would highly recommend this company. They are very customer oriented and work to build long term relationships.

This time around, General Air Conditioning called to remind us of our routine HVAC check-up instead of us calling to schedule an appointment.  General Air was flexible with our schedules.  A representative with General Air showed up to our house on time and got to work immediately.  After the check-up, the representative in a professional manner went through their check list.  There were a few minor issues with one of the systems.  The representative showed us the issues and fixed those issues on the same day.
