Flooring 101

Chase with Flooring 101 and his crew did an amazing job!! The entire 2nd floor carpet was replaced with vinyl to include the stairs. We already had vinyl downstairs and in some of the rooms upstairs. He brought a sample that closely matched what we already had in place and they finished the job in 2.5 days. The quote I received was almost $3,000 less expensive than all of the other quotes I received. I would recommend them to people I know.

Chase Knudson and Flooring 101 was hired to install wood laminate in 3 bedrooms in my home. He knew that I had Lymphoma and was undergoing chemotherapy. He agreed that he complete the job in 2days. When his team started that quickly changed. His team went down from 2 men to 1 and Chase had his 1 guy work on Sunday which they normally don't do. That was appreciated. Still the one guy did not complete the job nor did ANY of the TEAM take precaution in caring for the floor when moving ANY of the furniture to protect the floor from being scratched. They never used material to protect the laminate from the furniture when placing it back. I mentioned that to Chase Knudson and asked him to come and view the floor once it was done. He said that he trained his men to always protect the furniture and the laminate. Again that is not what they did. His team did not even install the closet doors in each of the bedrooms by Sunday. Chase Knudson the owner of Flooring 101 also told me that he was going out of town for a week and would not be available. He was paid in full for this lousy job and when confronted in the end all he would tell me was that is the way the floor came from the manufacturer. The strange thing is on the transition from tile to laminate had tape for 48 hrs. and once removed it actually had deep scratches and Chase had NO explanation for those scratches either. I had no choice but to file a complaint with the BBB. Ray, Chase's employee showed up eventually to repair the closet doors over a month later. I am not satisfied with this company at all nor would I ever recommend them to anyone who needs wood laminate. This company takes advantage of elderly people.

We shopped around with the local competitors, including Atlas, O’krent as well as others on Angie’s List. Their quotes were rather high, so we decided to give Flooring 101 a shot. Chase is a friendly and personable guy. Chase’s quote was a 1/3 lower than some of the other quotes ($11000 vs $18000). We were scheduled to move in a week after closing and wanted everything done prior to moving in. Chase and his crew were able demo everything, workaround painters and other contractors, and install the new floors before we moved in. Chase went to the house and checked on the progress regularly. He also kept me up-to-date with regular calls and texts, and responded to me quickly. I recommended Flooring 101 to my mother-in-law who is going through a renovation right now and I would recommend them to anyone else who wants new floors at a reasonable price.

The work went really well. Chase had his foreman, Ray, and four other guys there. They did a really nice job and got the job done in a day. Chase and Ray ended up saving us money by telling us some of the other charges and add-ons from the initial contractor were unnecessary, which was money out of their company's pocket. So not only did they do a great job on the flooring, they were extremely trustworthy!

I was so pleased with the professional and high quality work that Chase, the owner of 101 Flooring, did on my present home that I hired him to install wood flooring in my rent house. Whatever he promised to do he followed through with.

I used Flooring 101 to install wood flooring in my bedrooms and office in my present home. I was so pleased with their work so I hired them to lay wood flooring in my rent house. The owner, Chase, is so dependable and professional. Whatever he told me he would do he followed through with. Flooring 101 has fair prices, good quality flooring and workmanship. I highly recommend 101 Flooring!

Chase was a pleasure to work with. His bid was a third less than a major floor store. The bamboo was a nightmare to remove, but even though the removal took three times as long as Chase estimated, he never acted like it was a burden to him or his crew. The material was new to Chase, a cork-backed waterproof  vinyl and he followed the manufactures reccommendations for the underlayment. But my wife and I did not like the way the floor felt. Chase pulled up the living room floor and replaced the underlayment with the thicker material he normally used. He did not want any extra money for this, but I insisted I pay for the extra cost for the material. Chase went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect, and the floors look great.

Everything was great, the 2 men doing the installation were on time and worked quickly. They were able to finish all the work in 1 day. I would recommend this company and will use them again when I replace my other floors.

I've never received more personable, reliable and honest service on this large of a job. Chase is a class act, and is extremely punctual,professional, patient and caring as we were in the middle of a move and started from a place where we didn't know what we wanted or when we would be able to get it. All around exceptional experience. I recommend Flooring 101 for any size job. The experience can't be beat.

The experience from sales to the installation was very pleasant. Chase is very knowledgable of the product lines and helped make the decision regarding what wood would go best in my home very easy. The installation was timely and took less time than estimated. The floors look great. I will definitely use Flooring 101 in the future.

Chase was prompt in responding to my initial requests for an estimate. His prices beat several contractors and his knowledge of product is evident. Once I made a decision, the job was scheduled very quickly and completed fairly quick in comparison to another flooring installation I had done in 2006.His finished job quickly. I am pleased with the job done. The floors look great. His crew was professional and courteous. We had a problem with stair nose coming loose and it was fixed promptly and has not been an issue since. I will hire him in the future when I need additional flooring replaced.

The first job was completed above and beyond expectations at a price lower than the other estimates. My wife and I had searched for years for the wood we wanted. Over that time we visited several companies and received lots of estimates. The estimates and/or the vibes we got were beyond our comfort level. My wife found Flooring 101 and in late October 2013we made a trip to their showroom for a visit with Chase. Chase was fantastic at explaining the various options. He took the time to explain the different woods and laminate selections. Much to my surprise, my wife found the wood that she liked and was appreciative of Chase's enthusiasm. After taking samples home and meeting Chase at the house, we were able to make our selection and get a quote. We were delighted with their ability to perform the job within a relatively short time period. The completed the three rooms in one day. We liked the wood flooring so much we returned to Flooring 101 to make selections for the remainder of our downstairs space. This time we knew we wanted the same wood in our family room. But we needed Chase's help to select the carpet for the stairs and the tile for the remainder (breakfast nook, kitchen, hallways, guest bath, and the laundry room). Chase made several trips to the house for measurements and dropping off samples. This stage of the project took longer due to the need for additional sample tile pieces and discussions on the tile pattern. Finally a decision was made and we were able to proceed with the job. The family room and stairs went well. We did have an issue with the way the tile was laid. This is where Chase's professionalism came into importance. He himself was disappointed in how the job was performed. Chase had his crew redo 30 plus tiles and regrout the whole area. He then had a cleaning crew come out to thoroughly clean the residue from the tile floors (something I had to do after the original install). It was comforting to deal with a professional that stood behind his work. Their prices were quite appreciated too!
I rated Flooring 101 as a and quot;Band quot; overall due to the issues with the tile. I will be returning to them when we are ready to put wood flooring in our upstairs master bedroom.

Cannot say enough great things about Chase and his installers. We decided on a Monday that we wanted hardwood in our family room and it was installed by Friday of that week. Super fast service for a small business. Chase was friendly, helpful and responsive. His crew was excellent too. Very professional and did a beautiful job. They had to cut the stone on my fireplace to fit the flooring and they made it look like it was built that way. The cleaned up every bit of their mess too. And a big bonus? Chase beat the big box store by $2k!!! Highly, highly recommend!
