Matt was very helpful. Sent us to another supplier for the granite since he did not have something that coordinated with my backsplash, which had been completed about 12 months ago. The piece of granite was a perfect match for my backsplash. The installer, Alex, was great. Considerate, professional and very helpful. The countertops looks magnificent. Alex was able to install the countertop without any damage to my backsplash and made it look like both had been installed altogether.
My initial concern was that the store wasn't open the first time we tried to visit; however, Matt returned our call and we were able to stop by later that day. We live about 30 minutes away.
The granite was beautifully fabricated. They were able to complete the job without any seams which was a very nice surprise considering I have two 90 degree sections. Matthew was always pleasant to talk to.
The negative:
The installers spoke almost no English which made communication extremely difficult especially when I saw that they were not installing the hidden supports that you commonly find on bars. Instead he held it up with a stick and indicated that I would have to provide my own supports. No one told me that I would be responsible for providing support brackets. I assumed that the installation would include providing a support system for the bar. Isn't that what 'installation' means? I am still surprised (and disappointed) about this.
They did not install any type of undermount for the dishwasher. Again, I didn't really think about this until the plumber came to hook up all the plumbing. He told me that this is the only installer he's seen that doesn't provide some type of anti-tip mount for the dishwasher. I was disappointed to hear this as well, especially since it pushed my completion date back further--I have to have the dishwasher properly secured to pass inspection. When I called to talk to Matthew about these two issues Rene answered the phone and told me he explain my concerns to Matthew and have him call me back. I haven't heard from them since.
We were able to schedule installation at a convenient time although not all the workers showed up when they were supposed to (it was still better then some of our other experiences with contractors in this area). . The whole job took less then 1.5 wks (our fastest remodel project yet!). The guy who installed the cabinets didn't get the holes correct for the cabinet the microwave was going to be mounted under. Matthew sent someone who was able to fix it with the help of my husband. The granite installers were a little sketchy (subcontracted out) but they ended up doing a great job with the finished project (and consulted us along the way to confirm which piece of granite we wanted where for pattern placement). We only had to clean up after them a little. We changed out the electrical outlets and a worker was sent back to fix the tile so they outlet covers, finish the molding on the floor and a few other small details that we noticed after the fact.
Overall we had some bumps but we are very happy with the finished product and I think that our kitchen looks great for what we paid.
