DUFFIN ENGINE SVC

The owner(s) refused any warranty support from their failed overhaul, attempting to blame the failure on everything that they had nothing to do with (like oil channels, oil pressure, break-in oil, etc.).  This has been an expensive and time consuming lesson for us(twice now), as the engine is installed in a luxury yacht and is very difficult to remove and reinstall, plus is out of town, so we have had to hire other parties to assist in the re-overhaul of this engine.  Believe the Duffin folks should have at least provided us with serviceable replacement parts (such as bearings, crank, gaskets, etc.), since it is clear to me that the bearing failure was caused by use of the wrong sized bearings for the crank they installed. Seems very careless in their overhaul and their attitude is that they provide no warranty no matter what. Would discourage anyone from using this vendor/shop, with this "not our  problem" attitude.  Can't imagine they have been in the business for many years with this type of poor customer support.  If you plan to use them, do so at your own peril (buyer beware), especially if there is a problem with the engine after they are paid, as we experienced.
