DIRECT MAY-TECH APPLIANCE SERVICE

This is the very last time I ever hire from Angie's List. This repair service was the classic "bait-and- -switch" scams. I paid $69.00 for two hours of repair. I had a fridge part replaced and a stuck tub diverter oiled. The man was there for 1 hour. He charged two separate service calls since he touched two things in my house. He Charged me $290!!! He substracted the $69.00 I paid Angie's List and wanted a check for $220. I feel cheated, lied to, and ripped off!!!!!!!!! Again, ANGIE, THIS IS THE LAST TIME I HIRE ONE OF YOUR "PROFESSIONALS" This man knew he was ripping me off, also. The look in his eye told me volumes about his attitude about working for an old woman--fair game and deserving of being ripped off. I will rate this repairman as a person with the lowest possible rating.

Informed me of extra cost due to my location before appointment. Arrived when he said he would, and work was completed quickly.

Replaced rollers, axel, pulley and belt in dryer, cleaned out lint and dust, and leveled machine. Cleaned out drain in washer and leveled machine. Provided advice for improving operation of dishwasher and refrigerator. He is very knowledgeable.
Blas was the service tech for Maytag when they had a store on Bandera. When Maytag closed the retail store in 2008 he continued servicing Maytag and other appliances on his own. He is honest and will discuss the minimum replacement parts to get your machine running and also make recommendations if you want to replace other parts that are functional but showing wear (ie belts) to avoid another service call in the near future. I appreciate the time he took to review my other appliances as well and make recommendations to improve their perform.

the repairs went well and we have had no trouble since the repair call. The serviceman explained some details of the machine that we were unaware of that will limit calls in the future. One call was necessary, the other was user error! Again, the repairmen were courteous and trustworthy. They came out on time, within 24 hours of our call.

Both machines were purchased from the Direct Maytag store which closed several years ago. The repairman had worked for that store and fortunately he arranged to keep the name and phone number (I think he had to pay to do that.)
From the limited experience I have had (these are Maytag machines ya know) this repairman provides good service, on time and at a fair price. What more can a Maytag owner ask for?
