Think twice before hiring this company. This review is based on how we were treated by the owner Donnie Ferguson. We hired Diamond Decks to install a patio cover in our backyard. The cover is beautiful. The material matches the house and the craftmanship of the fireplace, roof and woodwork are exactly what we wanted. Here’s where it all went wrong. The last job was to stain the concrete both existing and the new walkway we had them install. The crew did not power wash the 10-year-old concrete before staining. We contacted the project manager right away and asked why they were not power washing and he said the crew didn’t think it needed power washed. Ten years of dirt and they didn’t think it needed power washed? Prior to staining, the crew put samples of the color on the concrete and asked for approval of the color. They didn’t wait for the stain to dry but had us sign off on the color while it was wet. The certificate we signed says “Do not sign this certificate until all services have been satisfactorily performed and material supplied or goods received and found satisfactory.” Despite this warning they had us sign the certificate prior to the stain and seal being applied. Let me also point out that no one asked us what we wanted the stain to look like or guided us in any way to get the look we wanted. The stain looked nothing like we wanted so they came back and applied another color and seal and made it worse. We reached out to Donnie and let him know we were not happy with the stain. His resolution was to charge us another $10,000 to do an overlay on the two patios and then apply another stain. Donnie believed it was the old concrete that was the problem and thought we needed an overlay. We received quotes from two other companies to fix the stain. Neither company thought we needed an overlay. Instead they would remove the seal and stain and reapply the color we wanted. We again reached out to Donnie and respectfully asked for a reduction in our final payment of $7500 to fix the concrete stain. This was his reply: Absolutely not. We are experts and what we do and the color selection you picked does not need multiple coats. I do not care who you are getting your false information from. And you cannot remove foot print and terrible texture work that is in the concrete work we did not pour. The imperfections would be difficult for anyone to see because they are enhanced once the color and sealer are applied. This has one of the best sealer you can use and this is specifically why the form says DO NOT SIGN THIS FORM Unless you approve the color. It’s not an easy product to strip off hence the reason it last much longer and that’s why we use it. The balance owed is now past due $41628. I will need payment in full by the end of day or I will need to notify the attorneys that the contract breach is made. You’ve signed all the paperwork we asked of you and now you wanna insult us by telling us you want us to refund money cause you don’t like what you selected. This is the owner of the company, threatening, insulting and hostile. We of course were not in breach of contract and he knew it. They had just completed the work seven days ago. Again, think twice about hiring this company. They showed a total lack of concern about our dissatisfaction and blaming us for the results of the concrete stain. I will say that Casey, the project manager, was always professional and showed empathy for our concerns.

Horribly . There's no warranty. Structure (6 months old) blew over during high wind storm and rather than right the structure and re-secure, they want to charge me.
Response from

"1. Acts of God (including an EXTREME wind/hail storm) are not covered under our warranty or anyone else’s warranty’s. 2. The structure as designed did not include cross braces which would have made it more structurally stable. You DECLINED that recommendation during the building process."

They did an excellent job. The patio and patio cover look amazing; the stamped concrete really made the whole design come together. They delivered as they promised and ensured we had walkthroughs to confirm we were satisfied.

I am so happy we chose Diamond Decks to replace our 20+ year old deck. The deck is absolutely beautiful and well constructed. The master carpenter Jody is a perfectionist, very, very humble though. One section of the old deck had not been installed correctly and they met with us, explained what was wrong and how it needed to be changed. We are so happy with the deck. We will call on Diamond Decks again for the next phase of our deck project. Our neighbors stopped by several times and were equally impressed and one even plans to use DD for his deck.

I am writing this review because of the way the company provides estimates and at home review of potential work as a heads up for possible customers. The company required both spouses to be present for a presentation by the salesman. The sales rep was very nice and well informed about his companies business and answered questions in a very pleasant manor. However, the conclusion of the interview caught me off guard. It is my custom to study all estimates and make a educated and well thought out decision. They currently offer a 30% discount on Angie's List. The salesman wanted a decision at the end of the presentation with a discount, but could not honor the offered discount contract price after he left that day. This type of sales presentation is normally reserved for water softeners, door to door vacuum salesmen, some used car salesmen. I ask him how he could do this after advertising 30% on Angie's List, without answer. Angie's List should review this practice based on their standards. I'm certain this company does a great job based on the reviews, but as I determined at twice the cost.

We had work done before by Diamond Decks last year and decided we wanted to add an outdoor fireplace to our home. Yet again, they exceeded our expectations and we are thrilled to have it done for the holiday season approaching. We have referred many friends to them and all of them and ourselves have been extremely pleased. Keep up the good work and I'm already thinking about our next project. :)

Kyle came out and designed us an outdoor kitchen and cover for our existing deck. He was professional, thorough, and extremely knowledgable. He answered any questions we had (and we had a lot). The end result was above and beyond our expectations. We have recommended Diamond Decks to many of our friends. A+ service all the way around.

I had the most amazing experience with Diamond Decks (I usually never write reviews by the way) but had to commend them on how happy I am with the project. I'm a single mom, and my kids love playing outside, therefore it only made sense to add more living space to my backyard. I got 3 different estimates, and thank goodness I ended up choosing Diamond Decks (although they were not the cheapest). Don & Kyle came out and designed an awesome stamped and stained concrete patio and cover. With all this rain we have received, I have never been so thankful in my life (remember, single mom with 2 young boys who like to play outside). We've been outside every single day since having this done and my only regret is waiting so long. Communication, attention to detail & craftsmanship were bar none. I am a firm believer you get what you pay for and Diamond Decks exceeded my expectations! If you're on the fence on what deck company to choose, take my advice and choose them. I am so glad I did!!

Nightmare! That is all I can say about this company and our experience. We signed a contract with them in April 2018 for over $21,000 worth of work. They were to pour a new patio and sidewalk. They were also going to cap a side patio. Then build a large covered patio cover. Things went well until they poured the concrete and stamped the side patio crooked. not only that but they poured the concrete so high on the side patio it was touching the siding allowing water to rest against the house. The side patio also had a slight angle to keep water away from house. That was removed. They hired a company to come sand the side patio. Only the side patio. We were told they would put an overlay on to match the main patio and sidewalk and we would be so happy with it. Company they hired to sand side patio screwed up and sanded and messed up the concrete on the sidewalk. Then they tried to put an overlay on side patio. It looked horrible. It didn’t match. Looked gold with brown swirled dirt. This is all back on June 2018. We were told they would sand the side patio again and now we would have to put an overlay on our sidewalk. Week after week after week promises made about a sample. They needed to do something to match the main patio that was now covered with a structure. We kept being told a sample would be coming. It wasn’t. When we finally got a sample in late September 2018 it didn’t match and looked horrible. Told they would go with an overlay and stain. I personally went to a location recommended and picked out a color and stamp. Told I would get a sample. Another month goes by. Then I was told I had a new project manager. Met with him and heard nothing. A week later I message him about status. Told someone would get back to me. Nobody did. Another call today. So 7 months after signing contract my back yard is a disaster. The concrete isn’t done. It is a muddy mess because we cant finish landscaping till this was done. Worse thing is I was pressured to pay them 75% of my contracted amount with the promise that the rest would be done quickly. My contract said I didn’t have to pay till it was all done. They took my money and left me hanging. So now I have a contract and 7 months later the work is not done. And if they fix it I will be paying for something I didn’t contract for. The overlay will never match the stamped concrete. I had 3 different quotes and these guys were not the cheapest. I made the mistake of trusting the reviews here when choosing my contractor. I have always have good luck until now. I feel like I have been given lip service by this company. Calls not returned. It is shameful that a business conducts itself this way. I don’t know what to do about getting this work completed. I tried to contact the owner back in june about getting a different company to fix the concrete and was told no...I was under contract to them. Yet this company makes no effort to fix this.

We chose Diamond Decks despite the fact that theirs was the most expensive quote and they were only replacing one beam, not two beams as the other quotes were, because we thought they would be the most professional. Were never sent or given our copy of the contract in advance of the work. They showed up without notifying us they were coming when we were out of town. The subcontractor called my husband to find out how to get in the back yard with the gate locked or we would not have known they were there. I told them to stop work until I was in town and to leave. Ryan was incredibly rude on the phone and tried to say they had notified my husband in advance. They had not. When I was back in town Donny came out with Juan to discuss what had been done. We reviewed the contract notes he brought with them and looked at the work that had been done. The work was not as agreed and needed to be corrected. I was told by Donny that they would restart the following Tuesday correcting the work per the contract. He offered to extend the warranty if I agreed to leave the work as done instead of the way they had agreed to do it in the first place. I told them I wanted the work done per the contract and I would like a copy of the contract. Ryan argued that what they had agreed to by contract was not the way to do it. On Tuesday, instead of Juan showing up to work as promised, he showed up to go over the corrections with me, left saying he was getting materials and Abdul showed up with the contract. I took off work for nothing as work was not started per Donny's commitment. In the course of work two of the tiles on the front porch were broken. Instead of offering to repair or replace them, Donny's response was "you can't blame someone who is doing a major construction construction project that's working over 20-30 year old tiles to guarantee something doesn't fall on one." He then tried to say these were pre-existing breaks despite the fact that I found all the pieces in the debris. We have done major remodeling in this house and others in the past. We have never had a tire go flat in the driveway from nails before. We have never had a contractor refuse to repair something they damaged. We have never had a company show up to do work without notifying us they were coming. The multiple days off work to meet them only to have them not show as planned was expensive. I like their subcontractors, they did great work, but would never want to work with Donny, Ryan or Abdul again.

I recently used Diamond Decks LLC for our deck project. We knew this deck would be a major investment for our home, and wanted quality construction and craftsmanship. Diamond Decks helped us throughout the process, from design to completion, including stain. The result is a beautiful deck we can be proud of for years to come. This company is professional from top to bottom, and they strive hard to maintain the highest standards in their work and customer care. Simply put, Diamond Decks LLC is a cut above the rest!

Amazingly well. The job was surprisingly almost entirely done by one person, Richard, who did a fabulous job. Excellent craftsmanship. It looks beautiful. The stain team did a wonderful job as well. This is our second deck job by Diamond Decks and we are very pleased again with their business.

Not as well as I was thought it would go. The first designer was a little pushy and it seems his opinions were more important than mine. Had another designer from the company come out and he was very different than the first. We spoke about the project and we decided to go with them Diamond Decks. The bid was around 22,000 dollars. The next morning I called the designer and told him that we needed to visit the location of the 2 8X8" beam placements needed to support the patio cover because the location would interfere with the 4X4's supporting the existing deck. We talked on the phone but no one came to see the location placement of the 8X8" beams. I was reassured it would be handled. Patio Cover Three weeks later the person that was actually going to build the structure came out to start construction but we needed to call the designer because he had no information about the deck supports interfering with the new beams. The designer came out and said since I wanted a building permit the holes for the new beams would be twice as large and would have to be inspected. He may not have been aware of this because he did not have an engineered drawing but was told over the phone the dimensions needed to be 2'x2'x3'. His design called for 1'x1'x2' holes. Moving beams off deck, bigger holes and materials to extend cover 2' $1600.00. The Pergola The pergola was to be free standing with 2 8X8"X10' beams towards the back of the house under the facia board and this would allow room for a gutter and 2 8X8"X10' beams at the end of the deck to support the pergola. Once again the issue with the engineered holes necessitated to redesign the pergola drawing. Because the new engineered holes would cut so much out of the existing deck the beams were eliminated and now the pergola would have to be attached to the facia board and no gutter. New design another $1600.00. My wife and I talked about the location of the 2 8X8" at the end of the deck and the designer said it's OK. When the pergola was finally finished it looked good but was 6" to far to the right. Staining Cover and pergola. Painter did a good job of covering up for over spray and drips. He sprayed about 30 square feet and said it was too windy to continue spraying. He stopped and about ten minutes later my wife arrived from running errands and came to look at the work. Right away she noticed it was the wrong color of stain. It took him about 3 day days to remove as much of the wrong stain as possible. When finished the job did look alright. Really needed 2 coats of stain only got 1. The reason the original estimate had to be revised I was told was because they said I changed my mind from the original design. The design had to be changed because their design did not take into account the engineered holes for the large beams which would have resulted in a lot of work on my existing deck. The new design was not my arbitrary change. Why have I waited almost a year to write this review? I finally got over the issues with the cover and pergola design and decided just to enjoy the finished pergola and cover. My wife and I were sitting under the cover and we heard scratching at the junction where the cover was attached to the house. It seems they left holes opened and squirrels found their way in and decided to take up residence. One of the selling points was what their advertisements said, they pay "attention to detail". When the 8"X8"X12' beams were delivered the original design called for 6 beams. Some "attention to detail" was lacking because 16 beams were delivered. Apparently there was not a lot of "attention to detail" on my project.
