Deck The House

Joe was completed in 5 days. Day one tore down old deck. Started framing new deck out on day two and worked all day without lunch break. Day three and four were full days of work with deck completed before 5 pm on day four. Day five they were here with a trailer to clean up and haul away all old deck debris plus leftover materials and etc. We are very pleased with our new deck and appreciate the professional work Charles and his son performed very day.

Charlie built me a new front porch with a roof addition. He put me on his waiting list (I had to wait about 2 months, but that proves he does quality work and is in demand). He kept me informed of when he expected to start. He showed up early on the day he started and told me it would be about 3-4 days to completion. He was true to his word. He was cleaning up on day 4. I more than pleased with his work and plan to hire him again for my back deck.

Charles and his son did a tremendous job. Both were very professional in all aspects - a very professional finished job. The hand railing was sanded and rounded over, joints were tight, stairs were perfect, no gaps between deck boards - overall a great job. They also cleaned up both their mess and the material from the demolition to remove a small porch and stairs.

Charles's and his crew of two were amazing. They were professional and quick. They built a sturdy, absolutley stunning deck in just a few days. Charles made a suggestion to add railing which I was originally against. I'm so glad we listened because it is my favorite part of the entire deck. Deck the House was the most reasonably priced too, coming in thousands less than any other bid we took. My husband and I are so grateful to Deck the House for building our dream deck.

Super satisfied with our new deck and patio cover as well as the whole experience! Charles came out the same day I called and provided helpful ideas for my deck replacement and new patio cover. He showed pictures and examples of his extensive experience. I was confident he knew what he was doing. After receiving and reviewing his quote with other options that same day I called and we scheduled the job a couple weeks out. Charles provided a schedule to demo the old deck, build the new deck, and new construct patio cover. He said it would be completed in 8 days and the job was completed in 8 days, just as he said. He also started the day he originally told me. Charles (with a helper or 2) did the work himself! We are thrilled with the work. Charles, as he said he does on all his jobs, has pride in every job and did whatever it took to make sure our deck and cover were exactly what we wanted AND looked great. The quality and detail of his work are excellent! I'm super glad we had Charles do the work. I highly recommend him!

Charlie came out and discussed our project with us. He had some great ideas we had not considered. He emailed the proposal and waited for our decision. He did not pressure us like one of the other contractors tried to do. The lumber was delivered Monday and he built the deck Tuesday through Friday. He even capped off the sprinkler heads for us! We appreciated his professionalism and the high quality of his workmanship! We highly recommend him!

The pre meeting was very quick, but thorough. The quote was given very quickly and a follow up email of the plans was sent accordingly. Charles Wells did a extremely outstanding and professional job. During the estimate phase he made many great suggestion and recommendations that helped me develop a plan. He was always on time and worked hard everyday. The decking material was Azek synthetic decking which has a great warranty and low maintenance. I am also a REALTOR and would recommend to any of my clients and customers.

Had lumber delivered day before. Approximately 10 X 10 1/2 plus steps and 2 benches in cedar wood. The job took a day and a half to complete. Price included removal and disposal of old deck. Had initial estimate 6 months prior to job. Agreed to on phone. Rare find these days. Professional quality workmanship and reasonable prices.

This was my second project with Charlie... He replaced my dilapidated deck on the rear of my Alamo Heights home last year. This project was unique because it required curving the material around the driveway. Spot on. I think Charlie would agree that I'm a pretty demanding customer as any homeowner should be. The job was done in a week and the owner of the company came out personally and walked through the project and started the next day. On time each day and left the area clean after each day.

Perfect again! Charlie did first deck in April and we hired him to build a deck around our pool we had installed. Another quality and professional job by Deck The House. Honestly they were troopers in this over 100 degrees weather. It was brutal on them but they keep going. Again here on the job at 6-6:30am to start. Started on Tuesday and finished up on Saturday by noon. Highly recommended.

I called 3 deck companies. One was a no show, one couldn’t start or even come out for 2 weeks, then I lucked out and talk to Charlie Wells. He came out the next day which was on a Thursday, I liked his bid. He ordered the lumber on Friday, delivered on Monday. They were here Tuesday at 6:30am to start the job and was completed by Thursday. Beautiful job and very professional. No money upfront you pay after completion of the job. Highly recommend Charlie Wells.

Mr. Wells was very responsive from the first call. He came out and assessed the job and had a bid, with different options. When asked, he provided suggestions and did exactly what was requested. He did share how the cost was going to be higher since we were requesting composite decking. When the week arrived for the work to be done, Mr. Wells was here early to get started. He met with me before I left for work to make sure I was satisfied with the progress and to brief me on what they would be doing that day. At the end of the job, the deck looked GREAT and everything was cleaned up. He called the next day to follow up and make sure we were satisfied. Overall, a great experience!.

Great, Charles built exactly what he said he was. Didn’t through any curve balls. I will definitely rehire if I need any extra work done.

His pricing was competitive, and he kept in constant communication with me during the construction of the deck and arbor. He arrived first thing in the morning every day, and I always felt like Charles and team were treating my project with the upmost priority. Charles was fantastic. Probably the easiest and best contractor we've hired in our 5 years here in San Antonio. He was professional all the way, easy to work with and true to his word. The actual job came in exactly as the estimate said. Charles explained every step of the process, what it took, time frame and always asked if we had questions. He was MORE than punctual and was there working every day. We've discussed with him about adding a matching outdoor shed down the road. He made it easy!

I've had 3 different houses in the SA area over the past 15 years, and i've had decks/stairs put on all of them. I've been through some really bad (and some ok, but never outstanding) deck contractors. After my experience with Charles, I will not consider any other stairs/deck contractor. He's one of those high-integrity craftsmen that folks hope to find but seldom do. Lots of contractors can build a cheap set of stairs or deck, but if you are looking to add value and beauty to your home, talk to "Deck the House". The icing on the cake is that he's a vet, and vets are my kinda people.

Phenomenally well. The initial consultation was thorough with the addition of several features we had not thought of. We were given a no hassle quote and not pressured in the least. The agreement was pay upon completion, no arguments. Once we gave the go ahead the lumbar was delivered in a week (Friday) work started on Monday. The only slight delay was when he decided the posts that were delivered where not up to his standards so he loaded them up and returned the next day with perfect posts.
