The Texas sun dries out both hardwood doors and fiberglass doors. The sun's UV rays cause the finish to peel and fades the original stain. If the wood dries out it causes deep cracks in the grain and in the glued joints letting moisture in. Ultimately it can destroy your door. It's much less expensive to refinish your existing door than it would be to buy a new one! Remember... if you are selling your home your door & your door hardware are the first things your potential buyer will see, and it's important your door makes a lasting, beautiful, first impression. You pay the manufacturer less than $8.00 in shipping costs. D2 Door Refinishing will install your new hardware for free when the door is refinished. 10 minutes on the phone can save you over $140, and your hardware will usually arrive on your doorstep less than 2 weeks later. If your hardware doesn't arrive before we refinish your door... no worries. We'll reinstall the existing hardware temporarily when the door is refinished, and then when your replacement hardware arrives just call us and within a day or two we'll come back and install it for you... and installation is still free!

I originally contacted Dave 7 months ago and told him I had water seeping through the wood doors, not from the weather stripping areas. He came out and told me I had delamination issues and should contact the manufacturer for replacement. I asked him if they were repairable; yes they are, but I should pursue warranty because that was the real issue.
Well after many months back and forth with the builder and manufacturer of the doors, bottom line they weren't going to replacement them.
Contacted Dave again, since we have been hit hard with rain storms in Texas, to see if the damage was still repairable. Dave came out again and inspected them again; yes they are still salvageable. His team came out two weeks later and within one day, stripped, stained (Darker at my request at no extra cost), sealed all the seams of possible water entry, and then applied the UV Coating to both doors.
Doors look amazing, can't stop looking at them every time I pull into the driveway.
Dave gives a 1 year full labor and material warranty. His team even said they will follow-up after the next big rain storm to see if all the leakage stopped and they would reseal if needed at no cost to me.
Over the next few hours, they sanded, glued, and stained the knotty alder door. They applied several coats of satin finish, sanding between each one.
They rehung the door and re-installed the hardware. It looks great.
Dave also fixed a few doors that were not closing properly. Each one needed something different and he showed me the techniques used for them. At no extra charge!
D2 Doors staff are competent, efficient and personable. I will use them again and recommend them to my neighbors.
They use materials that the average homeowner would not be able to get (the spray on coating). Careful masking, sanding and restaining.
Very pleased with their work highly recommend them.
