The Vets are very attentive. The first visit 2 wks prior ran $250. This included blood tests. Two weeks later blood tests were just a portion of the first tests performed because the first tests showed nothing. These blood tests were just a portion of the first blood work done. I also had to take my cat back for injection which was an antibiotic and vitamin b-12. The cost for an antibiotic was $60. And $30 for a B-12. I found this to be very expensive. When I asked why a B12 shot was given the reason given was unnecessary. This was performed on a cat. The antibiotic was penicillin, which with a perscription, I could have purchased for less then $5. Over all they charges were what I consider too high. I'm looking for a cheaper ver.

I will state upfront - I am very uptight about my animals and thier vet visits. I had originally had a vet in my small hometown before moving to the SA area 6 years ago who was AMAZING. In this 6 years I have been through 4 vets and was unsatisfied with each one.
I look at my animals as children and expect the service I pay for. Vetrinarian services are not very cheap in this area of texas to begin with and they, in past experiences, have been horrible at answering my questions and concerns in regards to treatment for my pets or food intake.
Dr. Nichols though actually impressed me. Mainly at the fact that even after a horrible snap from me (when I get scared for my pets I tend to have a terrible mean tone) he was very forward and friendly - he explained everything to me as he went through the exam - and even when he left the room and I had additonal questions he came back in to answer them just as friendly as the moment I arrived.
To let my Angies List family know - please google his name before you choose him- seems there is a past history with someone - but the issue was in the late 90's.
I however will still be returning to Dr. Nichols for our next exam check up.

We have used Dr. Nichols for many years as do other members of our extended family. He and his staff are knowledgeable caring and kind; I wouldn't want to take our pets anywhere else.

They’re very very good and very attentive. I've been coming here for 4 years. They aren't the cheapest, but their quality of work is excellent - I pick up my pet healthy and happy instead of unhealthy when I come here. I love them. If you leave a message on the weekend, they call you back right away on Monday, and will leave the emergency number on their machine too.

We have found for many years this provider to be very caring, compassionate, and very professional with me and my pets. I highly reccomend Crestway Animal Clinic to anyone who cares for their pets

This doctor has been with my family for years.  The most compassionate office and Doctor ever.  He cares about your pet as if it is his own, and so does the staff.  I love these people.  They are wonderful.  I have never met another Vet doctor or clinic that cared about my pets and my family's pets as much as Dr. Nichols.  I hope he stays in business forever.

Dr. Nichols has always been an excellent vet.  We have used him for over fifteen years; my husband's parents and one of his brothers also use Dr. Nichols for pet care.  He is knowledgeable, speaks frankly with pet owners, and is gentle with the animals.   He specializes in cats, but takes excellent care of dogs too.  
In the case of our cat, SEC, my in-laws took him to Dr. Nichols when the kitten was just about six weeks old.  He had been abandoned in an HEB parking lot.  My mother-in-law came out of the store on the day before Thanksgiving, 1996, to find him sitting on the hood of her car, crying his heart out.  She took him home, then took him to the vet a couple of days later.  As time went on, SEC was neutered and had his shots.  He was a healthy cat and didn't need much care until he was older.  He was raised by my in-law's enormous Golden Retriever, but after she died, the two Golden pups they got loved SEC so much that he got no peace or rest, and so he came to live with us at age five.
He needed vet care when he twisted a toe, when he was found to have hyperthyroidism, and for his arthritis.  Dr. Nichols, along with his marvelous staff, always took excellent care of him.  He only performed tests as it made sense, and prescribed medication only when necessary.  The staff all knew SEC, and all of them clearly care for the animals and pet owners they serve.  
Doctor and staff went above and beyond when SEC began fainting and became incontinent.  I got appointments quickly.  When Dr. Nichols could not diagnose the problem, he didn't hesitate to bring in a specialist, who found heart disease.  It was untreatable.  When the office manager, Jackie, called to let me know they had a diagnosis, she gently but frankly let me know the news was not good.  I appreciated that.  Dr. Nichols was also frank and compassionate as he delivered the news that SEC did not have long to live, and that the end would be painful.  He supported my decision to have SEC put to sleep that day.  They took me to a small, pleasant room with comfortable chairs, where I could hold SEC until I was ready for him to have the shot.  The entire staff showed concern and compassion.  When the time came, SEC went without pain, and was handled respectfully.  The doctor and the staff members each hugged me and were clearly moved at losing a long-time patient.
Our young cat, Katie, missed SEC so much that we adopted Sparky from the vet's office sooner than we had planned to.  With two young cats, we expect to be using the services of Crestway Animal Clinic for many years to come.  

We arrived at our appointment time and were seen in 5 Min. Dr. Nichols was extremely friendly and treated our dog Jake like he was his own. Dr. Nichols took the time to listen to us about Jake and his condition. He then ran some tests and came back quickly with the results. He and his staff were outstanding, and I now have a vet for life. Would HIGHLY recommend....

This visit was quick and I felt extremely comfortable with the care provided. I didn't have to be concerned any longer for the cat after the examination especially as he has had to stay overnight a few times for possible blockages. He was very close to having his kidneys shut down at one point in his life and Doctor Nichols turned it all around very quickly and my cat is happy and healthy.  I also have several foster and rescue dogs and cats that I frequently take in for various reasons. This clinic is one of the best for helping you and making sure all questions have been answered. They really care for the animals that come into the clinic. Jackie at the front desk is always helpful. I call, sometimes more than once in a week, to ask some questions and she always gives me excellent advice on how to handle minor issues like tummy upsets and such. I have been going to Crestway clinic for well over 10 years and my pets are so comfortable and relaxed with Doctor Nichols. He has a true love for what he does.

Dr. Nichols has been our family vet for as long as I have been alive (over 30 years).  Regardless of where I have moved in San Antonio, I will drive across town to take my animals to him.  His staff, starting with Jackie at the front desk, are always friendly, knowledgeable, and on time.  Over the course of the last 30 or so years, we have had to put our fair share of animals down due to cancer, old age, or kidney problems.  Dr. Nichols is so respectful, he gave us time with each of our pets, let us stay with them, and even cried with us when it was all over.  Who else can say that about their vet.  We just love him!

Dr. Nichols saved my dog's life!  I highly recommend Crestway Animal Clinic and Dr. Nichols.   I moved into the area a year ago and needed to find a new vet for my 3 dogs.  Crestway Animal Clinic is close to where I live.   I would not want to go to any other veterinarian-- even if I ended up moving across town.   Dr. Nichols and his wonderful staff exhibit concern and caring which immediately put you at ease. Very personable,  Dr. Nichols takes the time to really examine my dogs and ask good questions to make sure we are covering all the bases.  He is extremely knowledgeable and is an extremely skilled surgeon.  I trust and value his judgment and veterinary knowledge.  He went above and beyond the call of duty in caring for my dog after surgery.  I will never be able to thank him and the staff enough for the love and care that my shih-tzu has received from them.  

I see Dr. Edward Nichols at Crestway Animal Clinic. He is a very nice person. I only stopped going there because I started taking my pets to the vet that I currently work for. Otherwise I would still be going to Crestway Animal Clinic. It is a nice clinic. I can only say good things about it. The staff at the clinic has been working there for many years and they all are very nice. They treat the animals very well, which is a big plus for me. Their prices are competitive. They provide good service and one doesn’t have to over pay for it. I would use them again if I could and would recommend them too.

This was our first vet visit for our new beagle puppy. Dr. Nichols and his staff were very punctual. We were in and out in about 15min. He performed a full physical exam, tested her for worms, and gave her antibiotics. The technician also clipped her nails for free. They were great and we will definitely be returning to them- actually in 2 weeks for our next set of shots.

Dr. Nichols was willing to see an animal he'd never seen before, immediately, due to an emergency. He and his technicians were very kind and effective at restraining the dog for treatment. I am very appreciative of their help and will use them again.

The cut was too short and they lost the top line of the shoulders and legs meaning they cut it off. They injured the inside of the right ear of the dog requiring 3 visits to vet.

We've used this vet for years to board and take care of our cats and we are very pleased with them. We brought special food for our cats because they are on a prescription diet. The staff is great with our animals and they were well taken care of.

THE PEOPLE HERE ARE EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND CARING TO THE ANIMALS. I WENT TO CRESTWAY ANIMAL CLINIC AT THE REFERENCE OF A FRIEND AND WOULD NOT TAKE MY ANIMALS ANYWHERE ELSE.

DR. NICHOLS IS AN OUTSTANDING VETERINARIAN. WE HAVE BEEN TAKING OUR ANIMALS TO HIM FOR OVER TWENTY YEARS IN MY FAMILY. HE HAS PUT DOWN A COUPLE OF OUR DOGS WHEN THEY NEEDED IT AND TAKEN CARE OF ALL OUR PETS. I WOULDN'T GO ANYWHERE ELSE.
