Purchased the groupon deal for the company They told me that it was outside of their scope of service, and that they did not provide this type of service. This was after several attempts to contact this company to do the work that I paid for. They told me I could not get a refund for what I paid for, but it could be applied to a different type of service.

I made the appointment with the owner over the phone. He showed up at the appointment time. He was polite and knowledgeable about my trees. He walked the property with me and prioritized my trimming needs to meet my budget. He gave me a reasonable estimate. His crew arrived on time and completed the task in one day. They cleaned up the property beautifully. There was literally mountains of ball moss, and the yard was completely clean when they were done. They stacked firewood, as they said they would. The entire process was handled very efficiently. I will use this company again.

I called the company, stating that I had an Angie's voucher (199.00$ for a 400$ work value ) and would want to make an appointment for cleaning some oak trees. It was done for 9/24/2014 10:00a.m. At the appointment time Thomas Macon (the owner) showed up without any workers. I was asked what tree work I had in mind and I pointed toward a group of Oak trees (8). I mentioned to Thomas my excellent experience with American Tree Service from last year (same Angie's offer, they were cutting /pruning/cleaning 10 oak trees) Thomas was looking at those trees, done last year, rating American Tree Service company's work performance as a category 2 while stating that his work performance would be a category 1. He proceeded to look around the yard (front and side) by pointing out several other issues, always asking me if I wanted to have it done as well. Finally, he quoted me $ 1,900.00 . After my initial shock, I replied that this was not what I had in mind. Now, Thomas was lecturing me about cost and debree hauling. I pointed out that my prior experience with an Angie's Tree offer was so much easier. I asked Thomas to show me what work he could do for the Angie's voucher and he answered me, work (cleaning) for 2 oak trees. I could not believe it, last year 10 trees were done for the same offer. So, I picked 2 oak trees, but now he stated one of the chosen tree being too big. I was instructed to chose slimmer oaks. In order to get my voucher filled, I picked 2 slim oak trees which he agreed on. Afterwards, I went into the house in order to bring my camera to take pictures of those 2 trees. Seeing me with the camera, Thomas did not want to continue. Neither did I. I also would like to point out that Thomas, from Cowboy's Stump-n-Grind, is selling his services as" being insured" while at his Angie's information, he is not. Gues it would be good to see a copy of the Insurance Policy when using this company. I shall call American Tree Service again, with or without vouchers, they are truely the best.

Tree removal service at it's very best. I can't recommend them highly enough! Once again, Angie's List steered me right! (And they didn't trample my landscaping, either!)

They called and cancelled on me the first time. They gave me an estimate and made me pay $33 for taxes. We have made several appointments and each time they have cancelled on me. Now they are not responding at all. They also ran off with my Big Deal receipt.

They came out for an estimate and the cost would be $300 more than deal. I chose to not to have work performed at this time.

We have a lot of mature trees on both of our properties, this is a mixed blessing. We had patches where the grass wasn't growing because the trees were creating too much shade, limbs and leaves were falling all year long, a few trees had a lot of dead branches and were looking bad. Tommy was great, he explained everything and gave us suggestions to help keep our trees that were not doing well. He provided separate invoices then gave us a break on the price since we were having both properties done. The crew arrived on time, they worked on our rental property first. Tommy was at both properties, he made sure they trimmed only the limbs that would improve the trees health and appearance. His crew seemed to know what they were doing, they worked quickly and communicated with each other. They didn't take extended breaks or goof off when Tommy would leave to check on another job site. The trees and yard look great, they cleaned up not only the the limbs and leaves they cut, they cleaned up the dead limbs that had fallen. Since they trimmed the trees the grass is growing back and is looking better.

Their pricing was competitive and they were very fast and know their business.

It went terribly- a total waste of my time.

We called Cowboy's for an estimate to trim several trees and large shrubs. They came the next day and gave an estimate of $649. We decided to hire them, and they were able to schedule the work for the following Monday morning. The crew arrived just after noon, but started right in and completed the job in a short time. They left the yard cleaner than when they arrived and the work was professionally done to our satisfaction. When it came tome to pay, there was some apparent miscommunication about the final cost, but Cowboy resolved the issue quickly and I can say we were more than satisfied with the outcome. We will definitely use these guys again.
