Colunga Customs

We had a section of our fence blow down during one of the bad wind storms. Initially, Adam Colunga was very professional. They did all the right things, got the permits and the proper people out to look for wires or pipes. The fence was repaired in a timely manner and looked great. Fast forward to the next wind storm and the only portion of the fence that blew down was the new section that Colunga customs put up. At first we were a little upset but then after talking to Adam he assured us he would be out to fix the fence, and do it right since it is warranteed by Colunga for one year. It took a little bit to get us on the schedule and we were scheduled to the end of June. The scheduled date came and passed and Adam Colunga did not show up to fix the fence. Since then we have called and texted with no response. Now we are stuck with a fallen down NEW fence.

Quick and easy to deal with, I’m glad I went with them for this project!

After getting a permit from the city, the fence was done in 2 days. It looks great, reasonable price. Adam and his employe, dedicated themselves to get it done.

Pros: Adam and his crew were very nice and offset any delays or miscommunication with discounted work which was appreciated. Cons: The crew left several nail sets in the yard, installed a gate handle that can only be opened from the outside (my husband was locked back there yelling for help), and after 2 days the gate door started leaning towards the house so much that we couldn't open it. See photo. Adam kept telling us they'd return in a few days to correct the issues. It took 6 weeks and they did not correct the gate handle. They left without saying anything. Adam suffered the loss of a family member which contributed to the situation. I was really sorry to learn that. But I think the company can do a better job of communicating, scheduling follow up work, and ensuring proper installation and clean up.

Exceptionally professional & knowledgeable from initial planning until beautiful completion including exceptional cleanup & site restoration. Have already requested a gate construction project to enhance appearance and utility of my home. This is an exception company that will provide excellent customer satisfaction & will certainly remain at the top of my "to go to" list!

Mr Colunga was very professional in his mannerism. He completed the work within the specified timeline. I would definitely use his services again and/or refer his services.

Repair to a leaning broken fence

This contractor should not be doing fence work. I had to hire another contractor (using local neighborhood references rather than Angie's List this time) to correct all of the problems. As a matter of fact, I will likely not even use Angie's List any longer as this work was SO BAD! The primary reason I use Angie's List is to ensure poor contractors such as this are not even considered, but this fail goes on them as well given how bad this guy was. The following are all of the items that I have asked the contractor to remedy. He initially acknowledged most of the errors and stated that he would correct, but after a couple days he resorted to a "Busy Signal App" on his iPhone to avoid my phone calls. He apparently had no intention of correcting. -Gates without proper support or hardware (2) -Did not use the correct wood. Requested cedar pickets and he used pressure treated pine. -Uneven posts -The use of warped pickets -Improper gaps between pickets -Improper gaps between the fence and house / garage structures -Improper distance between the pickets and the ground -Stain job that has left drip marks along the entire fence line on the new pickets -Stain sprayed onto my garage next to the fence -The use of only 2 rails when 3 rails were expected and shown as the example from the other side of the house -The use of paint rather than stain on a portion of the fence which is a completely different color then the rest of the project

It went pretty good. They got it pretty much done. Quality was good. Good company. I hire him again if I can.

He was a good worker. I would recommend him. He did quality work. He was a good guy. I hope he will have a good future. He got the job done.

Adam Colunga did an outstanding job in repairing the fence and took his time. He definitely was very professional. I highly recommend his services for fence repairs, upkeep or even installation.
