Cody pools built a beautiful pool and spa for us. There was a delay, but that was getting permission from our HOA. The pool was supposed to be completed in 30 working days - weather permitting. It took almost double that time, but we were starting the pool at the beginning of summer. It's to be expected. Every person that came to work on our pool was very professional, answered our questions and cleaned up behind themselves. Scooby and his crew were awesome - going above and beyond to do a good job for us!! The only thing my husband really got frustrated over, was getting a timely response to messages or texts that we sent. But again, it was summer and these guys were busy!!

We have now had the pool for almost 2 years.  The pool pump has already gone out, but they fixed it very quickly, which was nice.  I recently called regarding cracks in the concrete.  Being that this pool is built half out of the ground, this concerns me greatly.  I was told that they are shrinkage cracks and are only superficial.  I kind of figured that for most of them, but two of them are pretty large cracks.  Regardless, I was told that the concrete isn't covered anyway.  They said they would go over the contract with me.  This was not made clear when we bought the pool.  Who would buy a pool if 95% of it isn't covered?  Especially when it hasn't even been 2 years yet!  I was told someone would call me.  Still waiting.

I had a pool built by Cody Pools. It was promised to be done in 6 weeks and it was completed in 9 months. When completed the decking began to develop cracks within two weeks of completion. Cody Pools subcontractors came out and cosmetically covered up the cracks with more cool deck paint. To date we have 62 cracks on the deck. The gunite cracked twice and required the pool to be drained and re-plastered. It leaked and is still leaking. This was independently verified by a pool leak detection company. The over flow float value has stuck on multiple occasions and we can no longer leave it pressurized otherwise water just keeps running. When they did the construction every wall was crooked. The stairs were 2.5 inches on one side and 5 inches on the other. It was a joke. I went to arbitration as directed in the contract and the mediator had found our claims were justified but Cody's President objected and decided to submit there own findings. The President found a buddy of his who had a Professional Engineering license (This guy was a land surveyor with an arrest record for lying to the authorities and providing false names. He was no concrete expert but wrote a letter acting as if he knew something). The concrete deck on my pool is only 3.25 inches thick and does not meet industry standards nor does it meet the American Society of Pool standards which is 5". Cody Pools did not install any footings to keep the pool from shifting. The rim of the pool has no expansion joints thus each time the pools shifts the rim cracks. There are only a few expansion joints and they do not meet the minimum standards. I have a recording of the President of Cody Pools stating that his decking standards are 3" inches deep and that concrete cracks. Concrete may crack but that is what expansion joints are for. The documentation that was provided by Cody Pools President and  was included as part of his respoinse to the objection states decking must be 5" thick. The mediator who was working for the BBB did a 180 degree turn around when the mediator learned the President of Cody Pools is a Director of the BBB and has been so for a long time. We were never told that the President of Cody Pools was a Director of the BBB otherwise we would have mediated elsewhere. We did not learn of this until after the 180 degree turn around on the decision by the mediator. What a perfect storm. A person who can have influence on his competition by finding faults with other pool builders and then capitalize because he can keep his ratng at the BBB artificially elevated. I would recommend to anyone building a pool make sure the company has it's own crews, (Cody Pools does not. They said they did. They had subcontracted everything out) make sure the pool builder is an authorized service provider for the equipment they are installing. (Cody Pool is not an authorize service provider for Pentaire the brand of pumps they install. I went to the Pentaire website to find someone to do a warranty repair and Cody Pools is not an authorized Pentaire service provider) and I would recommend the consumer try to remove the binding arbitration clause in their contracts. This really limits the consumers ability to make the Pool Builder build with quality. I may not of received anything but additional warranty time which was part of the solution by the mediator but I have successfully shown the quality of work done by Cody Pools to others which has caused them to to go to another pool builder even at a slightly higher price and I have been thanked by all of them. I have pictures, back ground investigations and recordings and can arrange a tour to prospective pool customers who are thinking of using Cody Pools as their builder. Think again or you will regret it shortly after your dream of owning a pool becomes a nightmare. Cody Pools knows that most people will only have to install a pool once it is not like you can throw it away and add another one so pleasing you is not on their list.

We were very, very pleased with Cody Pool. They drained it, put a new surface on the pool itself, a new granite surface. We were very impressed. We were first time pool owners because we just bought the house, he really helped us through the process. He helped us understand what we needed to do and was very efficient about it. He also helped us with design choices and made suggestions. They had crews out here for all kinds of things and they just worked together. Scott was excellent. He was just a very good person to work with.
