I contacted Mr. Ferris by email and described the situation. He advised he strives to complete repairs in the home, if at all possible. We made an appointment. I arrived home 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time, and he was waiting for me. He was extremely carefull taking the mechanism out of the case, and then took it to his car to clean and oil. He explained that it can get messy, and he would rather take a chance with the back of his van, than with a client?s furniture. He then reassembled everything promptly.

"Had to check my records as I could not remember this job - I checked my records and the job was picked up on December of 2011 and for a price of $340.00 plus tax - I am just now hearing that there is a problem with the job after 3 1/2 years later - We have a one year warranty on any overhauls we do and if the customer has a problem he should have brought the clock back while it was in warranty -"

The clock worked for 5 months but then it just stopped working again. He said that he would return to see what he could do but that has been 6 months and he will no longer return voice mail messages.

Exceptional service by a very professional and enjoyable owner -- Joel. Would highly recoomend him to family and friends as his service was very quick (house call), his knowledge of clocks extensive, his personal qualities very professional and his cost quite reasonable. I asked him to find replacement brass weights for our clock and he quoted us a price before ordering and did not require a deposit -- we paid him upon work at our home. In fact when he completed the invoice he told us the brass was in fact $70 cheaper than the quote and charged us accordingly. An honest and professional business. Call Joel as you will not be dissapointed.

I contacted Joel by email from his website. He responded by telephone the following day. He quoted me a price`for the house call and for the service. He also informed me that any repairs and parts were not included in the estimate. On the day we scheduled, he called to let me know he had a cancellation and if it was OK for him to arrive early, which, of course, it was. He arrived and got right to work. In just about an hour, he had our 29 year old floor model clock up and running.
He also informed me that the clock was aging, and if it and quot;DIEDand quot; again, he would have to replace the entire mechanism.
He left me with an invoice that matched his estimate, and information to share with him when and if I was ready for a new mechanism.
All in all, very pleased with his work, his professionalism, his courteousness, and his pleasant personality.
