Supply houses were out of the weights needed to get the clock working. Once they arrived, he set an appointment right away and did a great job.

I contacted Mr. Ferris by email and described the situation. He advised he strives to complete repairs in the home, if at all possible. We made an appointment. I arrived home 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time, and he was waiting for me. He was extremely carefull taking the mechanism out of the case, and then took it to his car to clean and oil. He explained that it can get messy, and he would rather take a chance with the back of his van, than with a client?s furniture. He then reassembled everything promptly.

He did a good job but didn't explain how to set the pendulum fully and I ended up breaking it when I tried following his suggestion.

The clock worked for 5 months but then it just stopped working again. He said that he would return to see what he could do but that has been 6 months and he will no longer return voice mail messages.

Exceptional service by a very professional and enjoyable owner -- Joel. Would highly recoomend him to family and friends as his service was very quick (house call), his knowledge of clocks extensive, his personal qualities very professional and his cost quite reasonable. I asked him to find replacement brass weights for our clock and he quoted us a price before ordering and did not require a deposit -- we paid him upon work at our home. In fact when he completed the invoice he told us the brass was in fact $70 cheaper than the quote and charged us accordingly. An honest and professional business. I contacted Joel by email from his website. He responded by telephone the following day. He quoted me a price`for the house call and for the service. He also informed me that any repairs and parts were not included in the estimate. On the day we scheduled, he called to let me know he had a cancellation and if it was OK for him to arrive early, which, of course, it was. He arrived and got right to work. In just about an hour, he had our 29 year old floor model clock up and running. He also informed me that the clock was aging, and if it and quot;DIEDand quot; again, he would have to replace the entire mechanism. He left me with an invoice that matched his estimate, and information to share with him when and if I was ready for a new mechanism. All in all, very pleased with his work, his professionalism, his courteousness, and his pleasant personality.

I was not home during the service but my husband reported to me that the gentleman was very professional. He took his time to thoroughly and gently service my grandfather clock. We were charged $85 for a house call and $85 for the actual service. I would rather have paid less but for the TLC shown my clock, I'm glad I chose Clocks of San Antonio. I will use this service again!

Hands on clock did not operate without catching on each other. Have not bothered to follow up on repair because of busy lifestyle and time constraints (lol)! Called to schedule appointment for repair and Joel was able to diagnose our problem very quickly over the phone. Clock was missing small nut on timepieces. He gave me the email address for manufacturer and should have it within a week. Many other service providers would not have taken the time for customer focus and would likely have paid for a service call incurring expense and time, both valuable commodities. Joel said call back anytime when we have a and quot;realand quot; problem! If only more merchants and technicians had such integrity.

The clock now works accurately! He was very efficient and honored the price he quoted. He was very knowledgeable about his profession. I would recommend his services!

Excellent. He was very knowledgeable of the clock and gave proposed fix date. It was over a month out, but he finished it on time for the estimated price. Would definitely use again for any of our fine clock repairs. Several months have passed since he completed the work and everything is working fine.

the personnel are very professional and really know the ins and outs about the various functions of clocks. they were able to tell me what the problem was and how long it would take to repair the clock. iam totally satisfied with the service provided by this company and will bring them my clocks when I need to have them cleaned or repaired. I would highly recommend this company to my friends and neighbors.

This experience was excellent from start to finish. When I brought the clock into the shop the gentleman behind the counter examined my clock. He told me about the clock, its mechanism, and its possible problems. He gave me a fair price to try to repair the existing mechanism (about $130 with tax). He told me that if the existing mechanism couldn't be repaired, I could choose to apply the price already paid towards the price of a new mechanism. (The price he quoted me for the new mechanism was fair based on price searching I had previously completed at other clock stores and the internet.) The gentleman was able to fix my clock's mechanism. It took about 6 weeks because of his back-load of repairs, but he let me know of this delay before I left the clock. My clock is now fixed for a fair price and by a competent shop and I am absolutely delighted!

A number of years ago, our daughter gave us a and quot;ropeand quot; (lariat framed) wall clock. We had the motor replaced because we didn't want to and quot;junkand quot; the clock. It was done on-time, professionally, at the price quoted.

Called because my grandfather clock would not keep proper time. Gentleman returned my call (left message). Was polite, professional. Kept appointment, offered suggestions for maintaining clock long term. Amount of work was less that anticipated and he reduced my fee accordingly. Had used this company in the past (did not remember when I scheduled this recent appointment.) Will use their services in the future.

We were very pleased with the results of his visit. Charges were as quoted by phone when we set up the appointment. $85.00 for the visit and $85.00 for the work, plus tax.
