"Member is not correct. The company telling her that the laterals are broken cannot make that assessment without removing the sand and inspecting the laterals. The laterals are not broken and that has been explained to her. The most likely reason that sand is leaking into the swimming pool is that the interior air pressure relief device has come lose and is disconnected from its line. That would be a repair that would be covered under her American Home Shield. This has been explained to her several times. The member is also incorrect when she states that her sand filter was not leaking sand. It was and that's why my company changed the sand. She did not maintain her sand filter according to manufacturing standards. My company changed the sand in order to inspect the laterals for damage. None was detected. I did discover that the internal air pressure relief device had become disconnected to its interior line. That was placed back into position but apparently it is broken. I have explained to the member several times that she needs to call in American Home Shield to make the repair. That would be the least cost solution for her."
