They took our money and stiffed all the subcontractors on our job. Casa Linda is now filling bankruptcy and we now have to get a lawyer to deal with the subcontractors not getting paid even though we paid our entire amount of our contract to Casa Linda. On top of this, they damaged one of the bathroom cabinets by letting the AC drain into a bucket that goes into our master bath sink overflow. We had to threaten to use our insurance to get them to replace the bottom of the cabinet. We wanted a new cabinet and all they did was replaced the bottom. Fortunately, Mike Rocha was a nice enough employee and did a decent enough job that we took that instead of a new cabinet. This was our first sign that there was going to be trouble dealing with Dan Vogel, Mike High or Bob Earle. Now that Casa Linda is going bankrupt, they are telling lies about us by telling all the subcontractors we have retainage in which we don't. We have all the completed paperwork and signatures showing the amount of the project has been paid in full.

We thought the quote was a bit high, but the company seemed so highly regarded. We thought it would be worth the cost to get great service and quality. We received neither. There are too many details to include in this write-up, so to summarize: At every phase of the project, the initial work was terribly shoddy. (Examples: Tile was very crooked, trim was installed unevenly and with big gouges, cabinet was mis-matched.) We insisted on the quality they claimed to provide, but they caused us incredible frustration by trying to cheat us every step of the way, and having to re-do EVERYTHING. (Time consuming!) Rather than bring in the "A" team to do the work, they tried using unskilled labor. At each phase, we pointed out very obvious quality issues, THEN they would bring in their skilled labor to make it right. (Identifiable by their embroidered work shirts.) The project manager claimed that cabinets to match ours were no longer available, but a quick call to a local home improvement store proved otherwise. Nearly a week after our cabinets arrived, we called the store to find out what was taking so long. They'd called the project manager to let him know, TWICE, that they were sitting there waiting for pick-up. (More wasted time and dealing with a demolished and unusable kitchen.) All throughout and at the end, we voiced our frustration with the project and the company as a whole. We had several meetings at our house and at their office. This was their response at the last meeting: "Most homeowners hand over their keys, go off on their European vacation, and come home to a very well-done project that they're very happy with." The general manager was trying to insinuate that we were too involved in the project, but what he really gave away was that they provide different levels of service based on the cost of the project. They should really advertise their elitism more honestly. $25K may not be a huge project or amount of money to some people, but to us, it was worth getting the quality they boast, but they didn't provide it.

Unbelievable! The difference between them and others we have had before is they hire craftsman and not laborers. They are allowed to make their own decisions on their own work and nothing is signed off on until they are satisfied with their work and most importantly until you are satisfied. They are not pressured about time restrictions. Each craftsman is allowed to finish the job to perfection.

Casa Linda Remodeling did impressive work. The siding looks great. They got everything done to the specs and the quality of the siding is good that they used. The workers were very polite and did a good job of keeping things picked up around the house. It was done in a timely fashion and I am happy with the results and look that I have now.
