Called around, they offered Appointment next day. They fixed it alright. I was traveling--business--in hot SanAntonio. With an appointment, was going to be awhile before they could trouble shoot. No shuttle service. Walked to a near by rental car company, rented a car to knock out some business runs. Back to hotel to do computer work and wait for call. Finally called mid-day, with part needed and estimate. Would call back when work complete.....never called back. Drove to the shop before they closed and found my car was fixed. Repair worked, and close to the estimate. Still working months later. Good work, fair price. Replaced a broken metal hose in the A/C system, recharged the system and leak checked it. Place is not pretty and customer service is not their forte, but they seem to know their A/C repairs. Locals flock there.

Fine. The checked freon pressures, fan operations, etc. Reported on problem of which I was aware, confirmed that other components were in good condition and working correctly.

Took car in on a Thursday and expected it back on Friday.  Problems took place during the brake system flush and this delayed the completion of work until Monday.  Was continually updated on progress by the service manager.  Carlisle Air & Automotive is the place to take one's vehicle if you are experiencing air conditioning problems.

Air compressor on my 2011 Mazda 6 locked up. They changed out the compressor, condenser, and everything in between. Price was very high, but they're supposed to be the best, and I didn't want to have to deal with it again. Communication was awesome, they kept me updated on the progress. No surprise charges, although they did have recommendations (as you would expect from any mechanic). Car was fixed in a timely manner, and I am pleased with the service. The one disappointment I had was I was told the parts and labor for all the things they changed are under warranty for a year. But it's one year OR 10,000 miles. My fault, I should've asked, because I generally drive more than 1,000 miles a month. Other than that, very pleased.

I took my 9.5 year old Prius to a dealer for an estimate on an a/c problem. Their estimate was $2,500, largely labor due to the complexity of pulling the dash to access the a/c. I refused the work, and a friend recommended Carlisle, and I checked them out on Angie's List. I brought it in to them explaining the problem and they gave me an informal quote that was half the dealer's. They instilled confidence right from the start, were prompt, and their formal quote after their own diagnosis was right on the spot. I dealt with Rory at the desk and he was great. A tech called me to explain some problems, but no increase in the price. Everything 100%. I am glad to hear they do all auto work, and will definitely take my cars in to them.

Scheduling through Angie's List was never responded to, so I had to give them a call. They were very professional, not pushy, and Richard made sure to keep me updated on what was going on through the entire process. I will definitely use them again in the future. The best part is, my A/C now works... just in time for summer!

Due to higher than expected cost of repair estimate, I decided to wait on the repair. The car was returned to me without a working A/C. I returned the car to them. I left the car with them and had someone pick me up. Too much hassle for the drive to their shop. I am extremely dissatisfied with them and would caution potential customers to verify the work done.
Response from Carlisle Air & Automotive
"Dear [Member Name Removed], We take our reputation as experts in the air conditioning field very seriously, and encourage our customers to reach out to us immediately if they feel the work was not completed correctly. However, no repair work was performed on your vehicle. The vehicle was not performing correctly prior to the diagnosis and therefore would not perform correctly afterwards due to the fact that it needs to be repaired. We are confident of our diagnosis and feel that we are very competitive in our pricing. We regret that you did not have a positive experience with our company and encourage you to contact us at 210-558-1020 if we can be of any further assistance. Tray Carlisle"

Response from Carlisle Air & Automotive
"Dear Mr. [member name removed], The original estimate and the diagnosis were given to you 60 days prior to you authorizing the repair. Our estimates are valid for 30 days after the initial diagnosis. However, after you authorized us to perform the repair the final cost turned out to be $963.46, which was hundreds of dollars less than the original estimate of $1256.57. All components that were replaced were new and the work performed came with a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty on all parts and labor. We do not have a record of the vehicle or customer returning to any of our shops regarding the quality of work, the functionality of the repaired system or any other matter. We take our reputation as experts in the air conditioning field very seriously, and encourage our customers to reach out to us immediately if they feel the work was not completed correctly so that we may correct those problems at no charge utilizing the warranty. Chris Knickerbocker"
