C & K LAWN SVC

I'm not sure I've ever done a bad review on Angie's and I'm not pleased at having to do this one. I called C&K in March for an estimate to re-sod part of my back yard. They were prompt to show up and look at my situation. There were some concerns about the amount of shade I have but I gave them the go ahead anyway since I though the price was reasonable and really wanted grass in the area. Over the next couple of months the new grass began to fade as the rest of my existing grass thrived. It assumed maybe it was from the lack of sun as we had had mostly overcast skies for some time but wanted them to take a look. I asked about any warranty on the grass, I was told it was one month, which I had no problem with. I actually didn't expect any kind of long term warranty on something like this. I never brought that subject up again. Between the people who came out I was told it was every thing from too dry to too wet to grub worms to fungus. I paid to have an additional treatment for fungus and grub worms and a booster but with zero results. I was told by the guy who treated the grass that he would follow up in a couple of weeks but never heard another word from him or my salesman. Great pre-sale customer service, not great post-sale customer service. Again, I don't have as much of an issue with the fact that the grass is mostly all dead at this point as I do with customer relations from a company who knows their is a problem and apparantly has little interest of addressing that problem past an additional charge for treating an unknown situation.

Our lawn looks great and it's nice to know that they will turn up every week and we don't have to worry.

On short notice, Clay (Owner) came by to estimate the labor cost to put in several tons of moss rock and topsoil. Clay showed up on time and provided an estimate in a timely manner.
I was to provide the materials adn he would provide the labor. The crew (Pedro, Christian, Marlon, and Omar) led by Riley showed up on the day of service on time and knocked it out in less than three hours.
The only negative I can say is that I over paid for the labor by a third. Under normal circumstances, I would not have paid the price that Clay quoted. However, I was in a pinch and needed it done prior to other scheduled work, so I paid the premium to stay on schedule. The same work was quoted at $400 but it would have been nearly 3 weeks out to complete.
I would use Clay and his company again, even perhaps as an ongoing maintenance for my newly planted landscape.

My yard went from looking like a field of weeds to a garden. I had to sign a 1 year contract with them, but I'm glad I did. They did a great job at a reasonable price. Now I don't have to worry about finding someone who is reliable and does a great job.
