I hired BG Contracting to move a section of fence and to repair a corner post that had become loose. I am not an expert on fencing but at the minimum, I expected that it would be done properly and would match my existing fence. I am extremely disappointeed with the outcome. Here is how he completed the job:
The corner post: He simply dug a hole and inserted another post for the corner and then reattached the wire. He did not tie the corner post into the support posts (creating that bracing you ALWAYS see at corners of farm fencing). So, of course, when he tried to stretch the wire, the post bent inward. He said that he didn't bid the job to replace to the other two posts that it should tie into. My question is why not?? I expected a repair. I could have dug a hole, put a post in, and reattached wire.
Now for the other section of fence he moved: He did not attach T-support posts on either end nor did he attach them to the sections where I had gates. So, again, when he stretched the wire, all the posts bent. Because the posts bent so much, the latch on the gate would not reach the post. How did he fix that? He screwed a block of wood to the post and attached the latch to that. It looks horrible. He didn't even tie the fence into my existing fence--he dug a new post hole about a foot inside the original fence line and then left the cut section of fence loose.
After the first day on the job, he asked for more money because he hit rock and said he couldn't put the t-posts in and would have to put posts in instead. I conceded and gave him an extra $100 for the extra labor time against my better judgement. Shouldn't he bid jobs knowing that he might hit rock? When he set the posts, I asked him about the need for the bracing posts like my original fence had. He assured me I didn't need them because I don't have livestock. I made the mistake of paying him before I saw how the posts would bend after he stretched the wire. So bottom line is, I paid him almost $1000 and came home to a corner post that still leans and has untightened wire and a new section of fence with bent posts, a gate that looks ridiculous, one end of fence line that is not tied in properly to my existing fence, and posts that aren't spaced properly (he stated on his bid that he would space them 10' apart; the closest one is 12' and the others are up to 17' apart).
When I called and emailed him to address my concerns he said that he didn't bid the job for the extra posts and that he would fix it for me but I'd have to pay even more for labor and material. No thanks. I called another fence company. So now I have to pay AGAIN to have the job done right. Hard lesson learned. If I can attach pictures, I will.

We used Brian Garcia Contracting and they did an excellent job. He has a website called bgcontracting.com. He was very professional. The prices were better and he did the work very quickly. They gave us an extra support bar on our fence. They made it very sturdy. They used screws instead of nails. He was very reasonable, professional and quick.
