It was a nightmare. Our old AC/Heating Unit lasted 13 years. So, when it was time for a new one, we were excited. We greeted the two techs from Bexar Air with open arms. Steve worked on the unit inside and Morgan went upstairs to untangle the air ducts. When he went upstairs and saw them, he started to swear and pulled a tantrum, screaming profanities and saying that he was not going to fix the F!!???!! ducts, and then stormed out of the house.
Before installation, both the president of Bexar Air and the service manager had promised and assured us that the tangled air ducts would be untangled when the new unit was installed.
Morgan came back into the house, went into the attic and put in one damper. He was so nasty and rude when I asked him what he was doing. He mumbled. I never could get any information from him as to what he was doing in the attic and his partner was no help. Morgan was furious. His partner, Steve, ignored him and the chaos he was creating.
We had also been promised that our normal Bexar Air tech, Rick, would be onsite the entire day while the unit was being installed. He was here for 15 minutes and then reassigned elsewhere.
Then, Morgan used my personal bathroom toilet. He did not wash his hand after touching himself, and so, when he went storming downstairs he touched the banister, the walls, and etc. He was still fired up, angry, doing nothing, and nasty. So, I asked him if I could speak privately with him. My sister was here and she stood off to the side when I spoke to him in my bathroom and his partner was in ear shot.
I nicely asked him what was wrong, why he was so upset, and told him that the day was exciting for us because we were finally getting our new unit. Then, I told him he should never have used my personal bathroom toilet (we have a guest room with toilet) and by not washing his hands he spread germs throughout my house.
At that, to my shock and horror, he put his hand on my chest and shoved me against the wall with full force. I slipped down to the floor. My sister and the other tech saw it. The other tech, naturally, pretended he saw nothing.
My sister called the president and I called the service manager. Neither man came to our house to take control of the situation. Morgan sat in his truck for the remainder off the day and only one man, Steve, worked on the unit inside. Rick, the tech who was supposed to be with us all day, showed up, spoke first to Morgan and spent quite a while with him outside before coming in and then came inside. Once inside, he was so nasty and rude. He left and spent the remainder of the day with Morgan in the truck. Apparently, they are friends.
So, a two man job was done by one man. I called the Bexar Air office again and spoke to the woman who schedules the techs to install. She admitted she knew Morgan had a violent nature, but was the best installer. Well, he did nothing in my house but spread germs and assault me. She, the president, and the service manager all downplayed and ignored the fact that I was pushed. I should have called the police.
The next day the service manager came to check their installation. He and the president’s partner, Harry, promised they would make everything right. They did not. The air ducts were never untangled and the thermostat was never moved. The registers, which we bought from Bexar Air, were put in a week or so later.
We had problems with the new unit right away. So I kept calling. I am an artist and had NO A/C in my art room. All my paint dried up along with glues, fixatives, and etc. I spoke to Harry again (partner in Bexar Air) and he again promised to fix everything. He told me to write to the president Jerry Barragan. So, I did. I received NO answer. He ignored it. So I followed up. He ignored that too.
I can still file a police report. Regarding the air ducts, now, to have another company untangle the air ducts it is going to cost between $3,200-$3,600!
They lied and cheated us. And, I was violent pushed. Not one of them came to our house to take charge. They went back on their promises. Plus, when I would call in because the unit was not working correctly, they were so rude and nasty.
We had been a customer of Bexar Air for close to 13 years!!
The technician climbed into the attic to check the equipment up there. He let us know that the duct layout to some of our rooms was less than ideal (which explains why those rooms never really heat up or get cool). Performed tests on the unit outside. Spent a good amount of time making sure everything was ok and then explained everything to us when he was done.
"We bought Bexar Air two years back (Feb. 2011) from the original owner and founder. While this incident happened 13 years ago and under his ownership, it did create a major concern to us the new owners, when we read this review. The Bexar Air name is now under our names and therefore we are now responsible for it; hence the need to post this note! We have also placed a call to the customer and expressed that the new Bexar Air now performs under different and much higher standards and that customer loyalty is our major goal. We hope this helps!"
