B&B Tree Trimming

Brad , the owner is in the right occupation for sales.  He is very good at it.  I contracted for a day rate of labor for tree trimming. I am very unsatisfied with the work that was done...more so with the work that was not done.  I had 3 workers and a chipper.  There was a lot of quiet time outside....when i looked out later, not much had been done. They showed back up the next day and tried to get something done.  Brad did credit $200 when he came a couple weeks later to look at the work site,  but it was not enough for what was not done.   If I was thinking about using this company, I would:
1) realize that if i can't get a firm date for a work day,or they cancel more than one time or simply not show up, i would not use them  
2) look past the sales pitch 
3) ask what is a work day for this company:  is it 9-5 or 11-4 with many long breaks
5) i would stand outside and supervise the entire time they were there
6) check the area where they did trimming to make sure that no damage was done to the property, especially sprinkler heads
7) did they do the things that were noted as important to get done, or were those things not paid attention to
8) check the work area...did they clean up...did they leave messy areas with tree branches stuck in other trees
i had to hire another company to do what they did not...which was a lot.

Polite, professional open to suggestions.

I was nervous at first praying they didn't damage anything but all went well and they were very careful.  My neighbors were so impressed that they picked up two extra jobs that day.

Arranged for an estimate with Mr. Burns, he came out twice to review the work and provided an estimate for $4000 for and quot;level two trimming on all trees on property.and quot; I accepted and arranged for a start date during a week that I could take off work and be at home to answer questions. Mr. Burns crew showed up 10 days early and started work - he explained that the lady that schedules their work was out of town on a famiiy emergency - and appoligized for the confusion. Robert (the crew lead) and his crew did an outstanding job on the trees they did trim (which was the vast majority of the trees) but they did not trim and quot;all trees on the propertyand quot; as stated in the contract - they left out all the trees on one side of the property.

All in all, the trimming crew did an excellent job.

Update: Mr. Burns called and explained the confusion over the untrimmed trees and plans to send his crew out to complete the job.

Update: It is now 7 months since the last time I heard from Mr. Burns. He called me in January 2014 to say that they would finish the job - nothing heard since then. The did a good job on the trees they trimmed, but never finished the job!

They came out pretty quick and finished the job to my satisfaction.

After all the above, they cleaned everything very well; If there is anything I would sugest, it would be that the owner (Brad Burns, original contact) should make the final visit and pick up the check, aldough, he did make a followup call the following morning.

Brad Burns knocked on my door and offered his service as they were already in the area. Gave me a quote on the spot and his crew showed up not even an hour later to do the job. They zipped through what would have been a major project for us to try and handle. And they swept up the and quot;messand quot; very nicely!

I am happy with the results. You would have never known they were there when they finished. Good clean up! Neighbors had work done too.

He did not not complete the work to satisfaction. The stump was not removed and not all of the brush was taken away. I have tried to get him out to finish the job but he keeps making excuses and promises but does not fullfill them. He is very apologetic with no results.

Very well. We were surprised and pleased that there was no additional charge for the return trip's work.

This is the second time we have used B and B. The first time was almost a year ago when we needed a major amount of work done due to the previous owners never maintaining the trees. My review is posted here from last fall.
A couple of weeks ago we had a cedar elm that was damaged pretty badly from a wind storm. I called Brad and he send his crew out a few days later. We looked at the tree and best decided what should be done to try to put the tree back into shape because of the damaged branches. After the trimming I was actually surprised at how nice the tree still looked.
I also had him do a and quot;cleanupand quot; of all of my trees, basically to go through and remove any dead branches and sucker branches that have shown up in the last year. He did all of the work in two or three hours and as before cleaned everything up perfectly before they left.
This was maybe the best money that we spent on the house after we moved in last year. I continue to get compliments on how great the place looks since cleaning up this forest that we used to live in.

The job went VERY well. The owner came out and did an estimate the day after I called and then sent a two man crew to do the work the following day. The work took about 4 hrs and the guys who did it were very professional and responsive to my questions and concerns.

They were excellent. I would absolutely use them again.

I called and left a message. Brad called back later that day and came over to give us an estimate. It seemed like a fair price for all that needed done. The top of a Walnut tree in the front yard had died, but had small green limbs around the middle/bottom. He suggested topping it and trimming the lower limbs. In the back yard are several large trees, one of which had two huge limbs hanging over the house, which i was afraid wind or lightening might break and them fall on the house. Two other trees needed some limbs cut also. Brad said it would be more economical if we could wait until his crew was 'in the area.' That was find w/us, as were not in a big hurry. Brad called about a week later and asked if it was okay if they came at that time and we told them to come ahead. They were here three hours, which included cutting all the limbs and totally cleaning up. We were very pleased with the work; all the employees were courteous and knew what they were doing. We will definitely be calling Band B whenever we need more tree work done. Note: About a week prior, a 'door to door' tree man stopped and asked about cutting/topping the Walnut tree in front. I asked him what the cost would be, and he quoted $550!!! Just to top that ONE tree! We told him we were not interested and that he was way too expensive.

Mr. Burns arrived this morning w/2 crew members. Explained job to them and left them to complete job. In a couple of hours job was complete and you would never know we had tree trimmers in our yard today. They worked timelessly and efficient and the yards were cleaned so nicely you couldn't tell any one had been working on the trees. Mr. Burns has since called to confirm if we were satisfied and guide us on how often to have trees trimmed. Highly recommend his service.

I'm new to the area, been in this house about 5 years, referred by my neighbor. I have used their services at various times for tree trimming. Owner Brad comes out and advises/suggests how much trimming should be done, no more and no less. Has at times advised against overtrimming, seems to be a very knowledgable arborist. His crew leaders are professional and courteous as are all his workers. Jobs have been completed timely with no damage to any other trees or property even when cutting down large trees and branches. All debris is removed.

Used a figure of $400 above but have spent anywhere from $250-$1000 on various jobs with Band B.

Would not consider using another service even for less, I am assured of quality work with Band B.

I was in the hospital when they took down the tree. They left the bill in my mail box. They came out right away when I called them. He saw that I had a pick line, and oxygen on, and he said he would do the job for $200. I called him, and told him I was sorry I wasn't here to pay them. He told me not to worry, and just mail them a check. That was nice of him. Usually everyone wants to get paid right away. I have used others before, and they charged $400, and didn't take the stump to the ground. Band B did excellent work! I wish I would have known about them sooner.

The crew arrived on time. They were very courteous. Started working right away and finished in about 4 hours. All debris was run through the chipper. In addition, the crew cleaned up so well you would have never known they were here. The trees look magnificent. I will definitely use Brad and his crew again and I will recommend him to friends and neighbors.

Brad Burns called promptly and provided an estimate of time and cost over the phone. He set up an appointment to look at the job and confirm the estimate and time. The trimmer arrived on time and completed the job carefully - excellent and professional trimming and complete clean-up. The owner then made a follow-up visit to the property to ensure complete satisfaction. Excellent in every regard!

B and B Trimming has trimmed our trees and shrubbery for the past 8 years, as well as those of our neighbors. They take great pride in the quality of their work, their knowledge of the growth and shaping of each tree, and the loyalty they inspire in their customers. They are hard workers and always give a fair price. We have never met more trustworthy people and highly recommend them to everyone that asks. They are the best.

Brad came to the house to talk to me about doing the tree work for me. I was impressed with his knowledge and had seen his work down the street, so I called him the next day to give him the OK to do the job, which they started the next week. My yard is full of very large live oaks and cedar elms which had never seen much care as far as keeping them in shape, so this was a big job. The three man crew along with Brad showed up on Monday morning. Brad introduced me to them and told me basically how things would work. His best guess was a full two day job. Throughout the time they were here the crew boss kept me fully informed on how things were progressing and had me periodically look to make sure everything looked satisfactory. They worked nonstop (minus lunch break) for the two days plus a couple of hours on Wed morning. Some of the trees are very tall but they scaled them with ease to get to the top of each. All three of the guys were extremely knowledgeable, polite and really seemed to love what they do. When they finished they cleaned everything up past my satisfaction level and thanked me for the work. Other than the great looking trees they left for me you could barely tell they had been here.

I've had multiple neighbors here to tell me what a great job the guys did. I'll continue to use Band B each year to keep the trees looking their best and will recommend then to everyone I know.

Each time Brad Burns was on-site for a walk-through of the work to be done, along with one of his job foremen, He checked in while the job was underway and when it was finished. Seems to have the same "guys" each time, so he keeps his employees and provides the appropriate insurance and I've seen the company grow without any drop in quality and service. As for the prices, I'm always surprised his estimate is less than I expected to pay. Good company, good job, good people, and good guy.

They were here from 8:30-3:45 working hard to get the job done. I have never had someone willing to work as hard as they did to do a good job. They wanted to make sure we were satisfied with the work they did. I would recommend them to anyone.

B and B's workers arrived on time, and fully accomplished the significant trimming as Brad had outlined in our first meeting. The workers were very knowledgeable, professional, and left our yard in pristine condition when they were through - their use of an on-site chipper to get rid of the large branches and tree limbs made for a clean site when they left. The result of the major trimming resulted in our bushes and grass under the trees re-sprouting to life in 2010, once they began receiving hours of daylight. The job was so well done one of our neighbors immediately called B and B to schedule the same service for their home.
