Did not perform service as I wasn't even granted the opportunity.

After 23 years the door had gotten to point where it was unusable. He disassembled the door, replaced the worn out roller assemblies and installed a stainless steel runner on door track to help extend life of replacement parts. He also took time to repair minor problems with front door to house when asked. He repairs when needed rather than just replace entire door assembly. Several of the companies listed for patio door repair when asked to repair said they only replace entire door assembly.

I've used them before. The guy is terrific. I have a four foot sliding door, so it's real heavy. I've used them in the past, and I used them again, within the last year. I also had him fix the lock mechanism before. He really knows what it's all about.

Mr. Patterson is a door magician! Someone else fixed the doors so they would close, but they wouldn't lock. The door manufacturer wanted me to take off the handle and the hinges to determine if the locking mechanism needed to be replaced. Don came and worked really hard to reshim the doors. They now work perfectly! Better than ever. He will be my door go-to person forever more.

I called Don about 9:30 AM, he returned my call around Noon and said he could come right over. He arrived around 1:30 and immediately went to work. He removed the molding on the hinge side and realigned the hinges on both doors. Doors are now fitting perfectly with no space anywhere and very easy to open and close. Very professional job He was finished in a little over any hour.; Don definitely knows what he is doing.

Great work. We had a very old sliding glass door, the foundation under the door was bowed a bit and the door would fall in on you when open. He fixed the foundation. Don removed the old door, found a sliding door that are not common anymore (8' wide sliding door) and installed it. He was very meticulous about the door opening and closing well. It opens with the ease of one finger and glides with a small push of the finger. The door is a high grade and the workmanship was as well. Don is also a very personable and friendly person, down to earth and easy to work with. If you need any work on a door I highly recommend Don and will use him again if I need door work.

I called him on a day he was busy.  He stated he would get back with me & didn't.  I called him a few days later and he apologized.  I explained to him what bad shape the 39 year old full-sized back sliding glass door was in.  That with our sand the track it runs on was worn out, how the latch wouldn't latch anymore, how hard it was to open & close - getting stuck half-way every time.  It was very difficult with 4 dogs to let only one in!  It was driving us crazy!  I knew it would have to be replaced, but it had to be done.  We made an appointment.  I told him he may as well bring a replacement, because it was going to have to have one.  He asked me a few questions and said he would be here Saturday to take a look at it.  I thought, "great.  Then order a door and wait for it to arrive, then get him out here again to do the job."
He wasn't here on time.  I called him and he hadn't left the shop yet, but he was coming.  He arrived.
He was able to remove the door by himself (he is a large man).  He looked it over and with parts I didn't know existed, replaced the running track with a stainless steel track.  He replaced the rollers with extra heavy duty rollers (much more substantial than the ones I had put on a few years ago from Ace Hardware).  Was able to replace the latch and the entire latch mechanism.  He finished in about 2 hours.
When he was done the door worked as good as new and for only $245.  Unbelievable, but true!  I will call him back to replace my pocket doors that the dogs have ruined over the years.  That, he says, is his specialty!

Called Don and originally scheduled for a 2/18 appointment.  Due to his busy schedule, had to reschedule to 2/19, and Don arrived on time at 3:30.  Don is very knowledgable and professional.  He was able to correct a door that had been incorrectly and originally installed by Lowes.  The job took about 2.5 hours, and Don was able to repair the handleset, rehang the door, and seal for air gaps and exposed wood.  The door seals and works perfectly now.  Highly recommend Don!

I'm getting new laminate flooring and two doors wouldn't open over the samples. I got Anything to do with Doors number from a handyman I called from Angies List. Don Patterson arrived on time and got right to work. He first removed the hall closet door, took it out to his truck and planed off the necessary amount, sanded the bottom and replaced the door. The second door was a pocket door, so he removed the molding. took out the door, removed a strip of wood on the bottom of the door, scored and planed the bottom of the door. He then replaced the strip of wood, hung the door and replaced the molding. He completed the work in an hour and 15 minutes.
I had talked with other handymen who didn't know how to do pocket doors, so I felt fortunate to find such a professional.

I called Don after calling several other companies listed here on the list hat told me that it may be several weeks before they would be available to come out and survey the job. He told me that he was on the way out to my area of town and could drop by in about thirty minutes. Sure to his word he showed up on time and suggested that he recondition the old threshold rather than having to purchase a new one as I had anticipated doing. Not only would it expedite the job, which he could do right then and there, but it would save both time and money. I agreed and about an hour later the old threshold, looking like new, was installed and the door was operating better than it had in years. I would not hesitate in calling him again for any door work that needed to be done.

I called Don on Tuesday of this week and he came out on Thursday morning, provided me with a very reasonable estimate, and repaired a set of french doors that had shifted. He took them out and completely reframed and repaired them in a little under 3 hours. During his visit here, he was extremely polite and professional, and he certainly knows how to repair doors. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone who is in need of the service he provides. I was extremely pleased with both Don and his work.

The repairs went perfectly. The owner asked me if I wanted changes made to the lock, and I declined. After he left, I realized I did want those changes, so I called and he returned two days later to fix the lock as well. Great service!

Don was unable to come for our first appointment but made up for it by coming very promptly (early) the next day. He is very thorough, efficient and professional. He definitely knows doors.

When we initially contacted Anything to do With Doors, the gentleman came to the house, looked over the job, and said that he would send me a quote. (I live out of the city.) So, my first impression was favorable. However, he didn't send the quote, so I let a two or three weeks go by and called him again and talked over the job with him. He gave me a "guesstimate" over the phone, but told me that he would need to get a price on the doors to be replaced. He said that he would e-mail me a quote the next day. It never arrived. A few weeks passed, and left a message for him to call us back because we wanted to hire him to do the job. He didn't return the call, so we called again a couple of days later and the person who answered the phone said something about his being busy. We left a message asking him to call. He did call a couple of days later and we told him that we were interested in hiring him to do the work but that I needed to have a written estimate. Again he told us that he would e-mail the estimate to me the next day. It never arrived. Finally we just gave up and have contacted another person to do the work. This occurred over the course of about 6-7 weeks.

Don first came out to give us an estimate and to assess the work that needed to be done. He told that replacing the entire front door structure would be close to $5,000, since it's structural and includes many windows. He told us about some more cost-effective fixes that would give us the results we wanted. The work took place over one day. Don took down several pieces of the wood structure from inside the door to properly calibrate the angle of the doors (shaving the wood to get the placement right). He also adjusted hinges. After the doors were re-positioned, he applied weather-stripping around all doors. The doors close more snuggly (no light or air can get through) and securely than ever before. All three locks close perfectly. Afterward, he vaccumed up all of the sawdust and debris. The backdoor work was a little different. Here, Don added a small piece of wood and an angled ledge to help tighten up the space and encourage the water to run away from the house (instead of inside). We've been rain-free since the repair work so I don't know if it works or not, but visually, it LOOKS better. There isn't visible light shining through and I am hopeful that this will fix the nagging problem. I really notice a major improvement using the front door in particular. It's so smooth! Before the repair, it was painful at times to turn the key and required a lot of tugging and pushing. The work took almost a full day. The total price was at the high-end of the estimate, but it was within the estimate.
