Andrew's Tree and Landscaping Services

Our experience with Andrew, the owner/operator, started off very positive, especially since this was our second attempt to hire someone to do much-needed tree and lawn clean-up and new landscape design (see also review for Handygreen Landscape).  I had read the Angie's List reviews and felt that this company would be a good fit.  When I called to discuss setting up an appointment, I received a call-back very promptly and was assured by Andrew that in addition to doing tree trimming he could also do landscape design and installation of drought-resistant plants, colorful plants, mulch and rock. He referred me to his company's web site to view some of his prior residential work.  We met with him the following day and he reviewed our concerns and ideas. He stated that the first project would be to perform tree trimming and shaping ("to lift the canopy") since our overgrown trees were not allowing sufficient sunlight to promote a healthy lawn.  He indicated that he would email us a proposal by the end of the day, which he did, and we agreed upon his proposal.
He did a really nice job with tree-trimming and we paid him with a personal check as he had requested.   He then agreed that the next step would be to re-configure and repair some broken sprinkler heads, since it was obvious that certain areas of our lawn were missing out on irrigation.  Again, he quoted us a very fair price and completed the work several days later. 
Since it was our ultimate goal to update our landscape, we again met with Andrew to discuss the next phase: creating aesthetic but also xeriscape-friendly plant and rock beds.  He appeared very motivated and showed us some pictures of prior work.  We mentioned some of our ideas and in the end were told that another proposal would follow in approximately one week. 
 After approximately two weeks of not receiving any proposal we called Andrew and shortly thereafter received an email from him apologizing for the delay and stating some personal problems.  He promised to forward a proposal in the next few days.  We never received a proposal, nor any additional emails or phone calls from him or his representative.  
We were so disappointed, especially since he had done a fine job thus far.   

I actually did use them and was happy with it.  What I like particularly was the owner himself was very knowledgeable about trees not the fact that he had to trimmed them but he educated me about the needs of trees and because of that I felt like he was more than an expert than the other companies that I've talked to and that’s what they told me on him.  I didn’t really compare him to anybody else in part of me because I misunderstood his quote and so it ended up being more expensive than I anticipated but that’s because he threw and had to cut my grass and I misunderstood and I thought that the quote that he gave me originally included that and it didn’t.

I was approached by this company with a ring of my door bell.  I needed some tree trimming and the price was reasonable.  My gripes are poor trimming technique and not doing a good job picking up the debris.  One of my small trees had many broken branches (dead branches were broken off instead of sawed off).  The pecans had many unnecessary cuts in the bark.  The worker was just stabbing at the branches with a pole saw and missing which left damaged bark.   I did tell the supervisor.   The crew had lunch on my deck and I said it was ok after they started eating.  That's a first for all the contractors I've had thru the house over the years.  Balancing the price versus the quality, it's a wash... fair.  I can't recommend them to others though.

They were so nice from start to finish. They took care of the trees, and suggested a few additional items-- at a very low cost. They cleaned up the mess very well, and I have been recommending them to others in our neighborhood. I will definitely call them next time we need service.

He was great.  He was all some. I am extremely satisfied with all aspect of the tree company.

Andrew from Ybarra?s Tree Service did an outstanding job trimming my 14 year old Ornamental Pear tree. He and a partner worked for about 3 hours to neatly trim my tree. Upon completing the job, they hauled off the trimmed branches and racked up every leaf. As far as price, you won?t find a better deal. He charged me about half the price of other tree trimmers that I called. You couldn?t ask for a better job. I was so impressed with his service; it prompted me to write my first AngiesList review.
