Jason did a fine job, kept the area around the fireplace neat and clean. He was punctual, professional, and diligent.

Pleasantly surprised. Turned out it was an electric switch problem. So, did not charge me for the visit or his time. A first for me. That kind of professionalism and honesty means I will recommend them to everyone and use them when I have a real problem.

It was good. They did what they needed to do. They did a good job. It had the deal on there, but that was when it was under the other name of the company. I asked them about it and they said,"oh is that on there?" So they were not sure, but I got the price that I wanted. I just had one guy that came out. He explained everything that he was doing. He showed me pictures of what it looked like from the roof where all the lint was. We've been here 13 years. He explained why we needed it and what he was doing and why he did everything that he did. They were really good about that. I didn't have to really ask much in questions because he told me everything. Compared to what everybody else was charging, he was actually a little bit less. I tried to read about all the others. I called them because they seemed a little bit cheaper. You know how sometimes you go cheaper and you don't get what you need. But I was really pleased with it, and the amount was reasonable. I didn't realize it would be that expensive, but they do get up on the roof. He vacuumed all that out with the truck, not just letting it go all over the yard.

Stay far away! The company came out inspected my chimney and told me I needed thousands of dollars of repairs. He told me my chimney was a fire hazard and a carbon monoxide hazard and shouldn?t be used until it is repaired. I?ve since had 2 inspections from very reputable companies who advised there is nothing wrong with my chimney.

Fine, stuff gets dry w one cycle now.

The tech's arrived on time and were very pleasant and polite. One stayed in the house and worked on getting the fireplace started and the other went to the roof to check the chimney.
The gas was on, but there was not enough of a gas stream to keep the burner lit. They advised me to call a plumber to check the gas stream as they did not do that type of work.
They were here 20 minutes, including the time spent discussing the bill. Very dissatisfied with the service provided and what was expected.

The work was high quality with minimal invasiveness, leaving only very minor sheetrock and paint repair after the work was completed. highly recommend Alamo Top Hatters because of there quality, professionalism, and attention to detail.

We needed to have our fireplace cleaned and inspected.
I inquired with the Facilities Manager of our Church who he might
recommend to come out to our ranch and get the job done right with a
fireplace. He immediately referred me to ALAMO TOP HATTERS, a company
the church and others in our little town just outside of San Antonio
use.
I am very wary and particular about work done at the ranch
place because it's where my dear Mom lives and i am her "go to" person
since her husband passed away. I'm sure you understand. It's all about
showing love with actions... and I'm honored to do it... but I worry
sometimes ;-)... because I don't want to expose my Mom to anything less
than what is safe and good. Hence, I got the recommendation from a
trusted personal source... and then I verified by joining Angie's List.
I can say that I am glad I did. The "List" also indicate that ALAMO TOP
HATTERS was AOK.
I called the office and a nice lady immediately
answered. They informed me what openings were available for the
service... which included Saturdays. She asked me if we had a metal or
ceramic fireplace. I honestly didn't know... and told her as much...
adding that I thought it was metal because it's has a thick metal
firebox and actually heats the place. She quoted be the price for a
regular fireplace... and we set the appointment. I believe this kind of
site is only as good as the reviews are frank and honest. That's why I
gave this company top marks in every category... except punctuality.
In all fairness, the service call before ours had caused our technician
to be about 30 minutes or so behind schedule. As soon as the vendor's
office knew what was going on they communicated with me... making sure
we were OK with the unforeseen delay... so I give them good marks for
communication.
Our technician "Lupe" was courteous and
professional. He did a good job, patiently answered my Mom's
questions... and left the place clean... as well as the fireplace.
Also, when it came time to pay for the service, I was not present and
even though I was misinformed about our fireplace being masonry and not
metal... he told Mom that the quote was for the metal fireplace... and
they graciously decided to just charge that because that was the quote.
If I had been present (I was in the office, managing the herd by
computer, lol) I would have had no problem paying the usual and
customary fee which is slightly more. This company showed plenty of
class and integrity here... as well as being nice to Mom... and I remain
favorably impressed.
Bottom Line: I would recommend this vendor

Made an appointment for them to service my fireplace. They confirmed the appointment the day before. The person showed up exactly on time. He performed the work above and was done in about half an hour.

Technician arrived to clean out clothes dryer vent going from gas dryer to roof. Technician began connecting an industrial vacuum cleaner to the vent going into the wall and began pulling lint that had built up in the vent into the vacuum cleaner. While the vacuum cleaner continued pulling lint out, the technician went up on roof of the house and opened up the cover of the vent from the roof and began a process of cleaning out from the roof down into the vent until he reached the bottom. The work was done in approximately 45 minutes and the vent was completely cleaned out. Technician then reconnected the vent hose from the dryer to the wall and we found that the clothes dryer was working properly at that time.
