I had a pet door from petsmart that has been installed in my sliding glass door for years. However, it wasn't the best quality. I wanted a better one and one that would not take up a foot of my sliding glass door at the end. So I called John from Alamo Pet Doors. He came out and showed me what he could install which would be much better and also gave me a price quote of $921.40. I was concerned because of the alarm system. He said that would be no problem. He assured me they could do it. So the day came for the install. First the installers showed up about 30 min. late but were very nice. After ripping my current dog door out and disabling my alarm, they said that I should have the alarm co. do the alarm professionally. I told them John had told me that would be no problem for them to put my alarm contact back. They lost a screw from the alarm contact but found another one that would work. The next issue is that after removing my old pet door from petsmart, they realized there was no and quot;strikeand quot; plate for the sliding glass door to insert into any longer. The installers called John (who hadn't come out for the actual install) who told me it and quot;wasn't there joband quot; to deal with that. What!?!?!?!?? Excuse me????? This would leave my sliding glass door UNLOCKED which was unacceptable. I asked him if they couldn't just go to Home Depot and get one and he said they may or may not have it and that it might need to be special ordered. I told him that would be unacceptable since I wouldn't be able to lock my door in the meantime. Since it was already 3:20 on Sat. afternoon, I asked him if he could call and find out. He did and the local Home Depot right up the street from me had it. The installers went to get it and came back and put it on. Now the door locks. John then called and told me it would be $65 extra for that. (the strike plate was about $5). I was quite upset that I had been given a price quote that now would no longer be honored and then told it would be $65 more for something they should have anticipated since they do this all the time.

You know all I wanted was for someone to come out and install this with no hassel or worry to me. My blood pressure and anxiety level sky rocketed worrying that these people would walk out of my home without me being able to lock the door or secure my home. I even began calling some door company's to try to get and quot;emergencyand quot; help while they were still there. It never occurred to me that making the door lock again wouldn't be their job. I also didn't appreciate the way John handled the situation. If I knew how to put the dog door in myself, I could have ordered the Hale dog door and put it in myself without him. To be put in a situation such as this is not professional in my opinion. I suppose if you have a situation where there is no existing dog door or and quot;complicationsand quot;, you might be safe to use this group. The actual installers did a good job and also told me not to worry and that they would fix it since they could see I was getting panicky. However, do not assume the price quoted will be the price you will pay in the end in case something comes up. It makes sense to me now that for the previous dog door to have fit, the strike plate would have had to be removed so that it would fit flush. I'm not sure why this co. didn't anticipate this since they do it all the time. I felt like John was trying to blame me for this when I have no idea about installing doors. That's why I hired them.

Alamo Pet Doors and Pet Fences team installed a pet door and dog run. Their service is professional in that they arrived as expected and performed the work to my satisfaction. They were able to meet my short timeline to complete the project, and provided receipts and quotes for items purchased. The team worked well together and had good ideas on how to anchor and floor the dog run. They built a ramp for the dogs which has worked out very well for the dogs to get in and out of the pet door. I would highly recommend this provider and would use their services again.

Extremely well. Installation date was later than originally quoted, but the crew of 3 who showed up were very professional and clean.

Punctual on answering request, however had limited working dates. Was available on weekends only. Did not come out to examine area for estimate. Large time difference between ordering pet door and placement. Did correspond on email for further instructions but with days difference. Lack of updates of door shipping and install dates unless pressed. On day install; very professional and complete. Did a great job. Cleaned up and ensured satisfaction. Would recommend again for complex dog door placements.

These guys are a class act. From the first call, thru follow-up emails, they kept us informed of the progress of our scheduled project. The day of the installation, they arrived during the appointment window, completed the work very precisely. I'm a DIYer, and have done projects similar to this before, but the fit and finish of their installation was WAY BEYOND what I would have done. When they were done, the cleaned up well both inside and out, and left without a trace of them being there (other than a new door installed). BIG THANKS ... and we will HIGHLY RECOMMEND you to our friends.
