I came to this clinic looking for a second opinion for my cat Mooshi after being told her ACL was torn. I was referred to this clinic by my aunt who has been going there for years for both of her cats, one of which was in renal failure and she said that Dr. Norsworthy "saved her life". Coming to Dr. Norsworthy was the best decision I could have possibly made! From the very beginning Dr. Norsworthy was extremely knowledgeable, honest and kind when explaining my cat's injury and her options; her ACL was torn as well as her posterior cruciate, laterals and meniscus. With this injury my cat was unable to put absolutely any weight on her hind leg and would even fall to the side when trying to walk. Dr. Norsworthy had my cat's best interest at heart throughout our whole journey to recovery. Mooshi had major knee surgery and we are now about 2 months post op and will never be able to thank Dr. Norsworthy for getting her her life back! He was so attentive and caring throughout her multiple follow ups! not only this but I work at the hospital so he was always able to work with us on scheduling appointments! Prior to being released home after surgery Dr. Norsworthy made absolutely sure that I had everything set up at home for Mooshi's recovery process. He saw her multiple, multiple times always taking the time to speak to me on the phone with utmost attention and kindness! Mooshi is able to walk, run, jump and play like normal!! I never expected her to turn out so good after her injury and don't have enough words to thank Dr. Norsworthy and all of his staff! Also, Mooshi never came out of the clinic looking scared or nervous, I know she was always given the best possible care. I will continue to take Mooshi and my other cat to Dr. Norsworthy as long as they are here with me! I have nothing but kind words for these kind people as I write this review with a warm heart, I know if Mooshi could speak she would have the kindest words to share as well! Thank you!!

Our three-year old loving domestic indoor cat was boarded for SIX days last summer and the room included at least a dozen caged cats in a very small room with no ventilation, no toys or climbing trees in a room barely 8 feet wide probably longer in length. His Upper berth “cat- condo” became his prison and The pricing was high for NO special care for lodging. Our cat barely ate or drank for 3-days as reported by the tech. When we arrived the ventilation in the cat room was terrible and I was told they were having air-conditioning problems. The tech said she would check and see if they could put a fan in there. It was exactly the same six days later when we picked him up- no fan, no venting and no air conditioning; still stinky and hot. His bedding smelled like cat poop which is the same smell permeating from our cat when we picked him up. This place needs a healthier environment for boarding animals and I have to wonder if cat litter boxes were cleaned as reported. They say they are cat experts. Wow. pictures on website show a play gym for climbing and exercise. The cat room didn’t have anything like that nor does the room offer an area for the cats to move about. How do the cats get exercise? NEVER AGAIN.

From October 2015 to March 2018, we paid Alamo Feline Clinic $4,934.54 for veterinary services for five Persian cats. Prior to March 2018, we were very pleased with the care provided by Dr. Anne Romeo. She was very kind, thorough, and competent. In March 2018, it was our misfortune that Dr. Romeo was no longer there due to her move away from San Antonio. It was our extreme misfortune to thereafter entrust the care of one of our cats to Dr. Gary D. Norsworthy. One would think that the owner of the clinic would constitute the “gold standard” for competence and customer relations. Not so. His manner was brusque and arrogant. When we returned for a post-operative visit, it turned out that he had failed to use dissolving stitches for the drainage tube and he couldn’t remove it. Instead, he just cut the drainage tube shorter. Consequently, the drainage tube turned back inside the surgical area and caused serious infection. To remedy the situation caused by his negligent handling of the drainage tube, another surgery had to be performed. As insult to injury, he charged an additional $187.21 for supplies while “generously” waiving charges for the second surgery necessitated by his error. When we told him we felt it unfair to pay anything necessitated by his error, he responded that he would refund the money on the condition that we never again use his clinic. This was more a matter of principle than money. And so, we did NOT accept this “generous” offer. We did NOT get the refund, and we will NEVER return to his clinic. We now have six Persians that get exceptional care at Community Pet Health Center from caring and competent professionals.

Dr. Norsworthy contacted our vet for additional information and immediately worked us into his schedule. He was able to quickly diagnose and treat our cat, and has continued to treat this ongoing condition. The staff is friendly, and the facilities are great. Additionally, when we've had questions, we've phoned the clinic and Dr. Norsworthy has responded within 24 hours, minimizing the need to come into the clinic for non-essential visits. While we are happy with our local vet and the care he gives all three of our cats, having an expert like Dr. Norsworthy available within driving distance is terrific. We highly recommend Dr. Norsworthy and the Alamo Feline Health Center for anyone looking for competent and considerate care for their cat(s).

I use them for my cat. He's not cheap. He has written books on felines. Anyone that has cats and can afford it go to him.

My cat has not improved at all, seems worse in fact. She has some kind of allergy or respiratory illness that causes long bouts of sneezing, usually with a discharge from her nose. She has no other symptoms. Eats well, plays, is very happy except for the sneezing. I am inquiring to find out if there are more treatments. She had the scan and then 2 different medications. Nothing has helped her.

I would give them A's across the board. They're great. They specialize in cats, for one thing, so they just had a higher level of knowledge, I felt, than the vet we've used in the past. The vets interact great with my cats. My cats feel as less stressful as possible during a stressful time; it's not something the cats really like to do. They're caring.

We have a pile of pussy cats. His expenses are a little higher than most. He is about a $150 a visit cat. Ordinarily the visits are only about $50 or $60 just for checkups and shots and things like that. They are cat specialists. The quality of service they give is exemplary. The owner of the clinic, Dr Norsworthy, is internationally known for the treatment of cats. He has written a lot of books on cat psephology and veterinary treatment of cat disorders. He speaks all around the world at seminars and universities. I feel really comfortable having these people looking after my cats. They are my children.

We have used them in the past and I can not speak highly enough for these professionals that specialize in cats. They were even able to medical emergency where my youngest furr kid had to have emergency surgery. Love the care, compassion, and professionalism they give everyone that walks through their doors. We be using their boarding services in the near future, and don't anticipate any issues while we are gone, and know the kids will cared for in our absence.

There is more history but I was referred to this particular vet from my primary.  He performed the abdominal ultrasound and set my cat up for surgery the next day.  When I went to the front desk I found out that after major surgery the cat is not attended by anyone for 12 hours, from 1830 to 0630.  I found that to be unacceptable.  At VREC and Mission Vet at least my pet is attended to 24/7.  Put yourself in your pet's position.  Would you like to be left alone?  A few years ago I left an elderly cat overnite at this facility  reluctantly.  When I called the next day I was told that she had a massive seizure and died overnite.  How would anyone had known?  Maybe she just felt abandoned....who knows.  I will never do that to a beloved pet again.

He showed us into the room and they were very nice like they always are. The care about the animals. I have boarded a cat there too. The staff is very friendly. They're a little expensive but they're worth it.

We love it! It’s all cats all the time! It’s a neat place inside. Their pricing is competitive and their boarding is really reasonable.

I had some very sick kittens when I first met Dr. Norsworthy, whom by the way, was referred to me by another Angie List customer that looked up felines only vet and found Alamo Felines. So I took his advise. that was late April. Now my kittens are well and happy and thriving. I am now an Angie's List customer myself.
